  1. #Brad Stevens has won the NBA Basketball Executive of the Year Award for the first time. He is in his third season in his current position after serving as the Celtics’ head coach for eight seasons.

#Stevens assembled a team that went an NBA-best 64-18 in the 2023-24 regular season. His player acquisitions leading into the season included two of Boston’s starters, guard Jrue Holiday and forward-center Kristaps Porziņģis.

  2. Getting Porzingis and Jrue for a net ZERO first round picks (got two in the KP trade, sent out two for Jrue) without losing any part of the central core outside of Smart is absolutely criminal. This better have been unanimous

  3. A lot of people hated the Smart/KP trade when it happened. Brad deserves a lot of credit for having the balls to make a trade that he knew would be controversial. Would have been easy to just run the same team back

  4. I think we knew about 2 months into the season that he would win. I can’t even think of which other GM had even a remote shot of beating him. Maybe Phoenix but they underachieved and had a super weak roster after the top 3. Hmm, Leon Rose did trade for OG and Bogdonovic, and brought in Divencenzo and Precious. But yeah that’s not even close

  5. Whoever posted the tweet that just linked the day of announcements and claimed “Brad Stevens would win EOY”, I guess you were right

  6. See this is how you post news. Mods should have deleted that other post.

    Congrats Brad

  7. Kinda crazy he is only 47. What a wild career this guy has had.

Wildly considered one of the best minds in basketball – and yet hasn’t won an NCAA or NBA Championship.

But I think every single team would line up to hire him in whatever position for as much money as he would want.
