Just let it be an open competition please. Heading into year 6 of a mediocre qb without no competition is unheard of

@MoveTheSticks said on his own podcast: ‘I believe Drew Lock has a really good shot of winning that job.’
‘They were comparing Daniel Jones and Drew Lock — emphasis on Drew Lock — to the QBs that were going to be there (in the draft) and I think the line for them was Drake Maye.’
This runs VERY contradictory to what Joe Schoen is saying publicly about Daniel Jones. They havent even opened it up to competition yet. But privately?
Remember, Daniel Jeremiah was ahead of the curve on Giants not drafting JJ McCarthy, too
I mean, I said this the second we signed Lock. He’ll be the week 1 starter, assuming the team is done w/ DJ and/or DJ is not healed. Others have said the same.
I mean if Lock outperforms Jones then yeah that’d be telling of Jones’ future. Doesn’t mean the team is doing anything dumb, it means they’re done with Jones and/or he’s really that bad to where he got beat out by a backup
We don’t need that injury guarantee fucking us over even more. LockSzn 🔓
How reasonable is it for Jones to be ready for preseason anyway? The timetable for recovery was cutting it a little close if I remember right.
I think the only way Jones starts is if Daboll believes Lock isn’t serviceable at all. The Giants can’t risk Jones getting injured. He hasn’t shown enough to take the risk of having an injured Jones on a massive salary in 2026. Considering he is injury prone, our OL is pretty poor and teams are well aware how they shoukd play against Jones, the risk simply isn’t worth the paltry reward. I would say it’s negligent to play Jones at this point.
hey if he’s better than DJ then sure, let him ball
Lock got those good vibes. Curious to see what he can do for us
Starting the qb who’s playing the best is not a foreign concept
Jones may not even be healthy to start.
Prediction: Lock will start and they will only turn to DJ if the wheels really start to come off the bus.
Best guy plays. Jones hasn’t earned anything except money. He wants to play he needs to be the best qb we have. Idgaf who starts, as long as they can try to make the team better in some way
