Ladies and gentlemen, the Cincinnati Reds lead off hitter

Love Will Benson, he’s great and will return to his normal form but as of right now he needs to be taken out of a 1-5 spot

  1. “Normal form” if you’re going to want to be taken seriously don’t say silly things like that.

  2. And replace him with who?

The lineup churn won’t help anyone and nobody is exactly begging for the leadoff spot.

He’s clearly just there until TJ gets healthy, then we’ll do something else.

  3. I dont remember him striking out that much last year and he sported an extremely good eye from what I remember. Surprised he’s striking out at such an insane rate this year

  4. It’s May 1st. We have a handful of hitters missing time. We are still over .500. I think we’re pretty fortunate with where we are at

  5. Ngl I’m getting cooked but still I’m standing on business. I love Will Benson but India in the lead off spot til Friedl returns just seems so much better to me based on all the stats and watching every pitch all year

  6. I, for one, encourage the player shit talking. I think it helps. Candy hasn’t been as awful lately (still not what I expected). We shit talked Elly, and he seems to be coming to fruition. Let’s just shit talk each player, and this is Benson’s turn. That fucking bum. So god damn tall he can’t control the strike zone. HAVE YOU SEEN HIS OBP and he’s striking out like crazy!

  7. I love the overreactions in April and May.

Reminds me that I am not as crazy as I seem.

  8. This is competing for the dumbest post I’ve ever seen. Look at the other dudes. Schwarber is also leadoff and guess what. Phillies are one of if not the best team in mlb. It is scientifically proven in the last couple years you best power hitters need to hit in spots 1-4

  9. Ladies and gentlemen, the Philadelphia Phillies leadoff hitter.

  10. Will Benson with his finest Drew Stubbs leadoff impression so far. Lot of baseball to be played though

  11. I feel like everyone downvoting OP for suggesting a .345 OBP is better leading off than the .289 OBP has never seen Moneyball

  12. look we’re still a year or two away from being a good consistent team. I mean there’s a decent chance of being a playoff team next year even with buddy bell’s son managing and hopefully no more candy (moose) signings in the future. I like benson but freidl is sorely missed. who else are you gonna put there? rather have benson take his chops at the top with freidl being out. outfield should be lf-steer cf-friedl rf-benson no matter who’s pitching when all three are healthy.
