  1. Pretty much the definition of “middle of the pack”: beat the bad teams and lose to the good teams (and Calgary).

  2. Is it possible for the schedule makers to let us play every game next year just vs the Ducks, Bluejackets, Sabres and Red Wings please? We’d be unstoppable if we just played all the teams that can’t stop us

  3. I’m cautiously optimistic that we make some kind of big splashy move this summer. I know that isn’t Francis’s thing, but the initial wave of season ticket holders were locked into three years and now that’s over. Also during some of our losing stretches last season, second hand tickets were going cheap and a lot of seats looked empty on TV. Last a “new” team is joining the league in Utah.

So I think ownership will want something kinda fun to get people in the door this year, especially since the NHL is so gate-driven when it comes to revenue.

In my mind, the Hakstol firing fits with this — slow and steady status quo won’t be enough. Don’t know who would fit the bill for this. Maybe selling Marner on the anonymity he could have here compared to Toronto?

  4. Their records against Calgary and Montreal are probably the most confusing of any team up there.

Also, 4 losses to the Sharks. Oof.

  5. They say tv shows used to peak around season 3 and 4 because after that, the core creators and writing groups will split and go off to do their own shows.

Well, tv as we knew it might be long gone, but Hockey in Seattle is here to stay and Let’s go Kraken.
