Comcast’s RSN plan is reasonable, but it has to practice what it preaches

Shocker – Xfinity was the bad guy in their dispute with Bally.

  1. They’re also the bad guys for not honoring our listed channel contracts with this illegal removal in the first place.

US broadcast retransmission laws need to be fixed to ensure that these disputes are PRIVATE occurrences between the parties involved without any signal loss.

  2. Diamond sports made an obviously bad deal and wants every else to make up for it. Comcast sucks ass, but diamond holds most of the blame here IMO

  3. Comcast sucks. Sinclair/Diamond are straight up right wing fascists. We all lose.

  4. From what I read, Amazon invested over a hundred million into Diamond, so they likely endgame is Amazon picking up streaming for the teams who still have a contract with them after 2024. It also says that Diamond is ending its partnership with Bally, and rebranding by the end of the 2024 MLB season. So this is looking like a cluster fuck with no quick end in sight. God bless the NFL for towing a hard line on teams being broadcast on their local OTA broadcast stations.

NHL, MLB, and NBA teams are currently lining up agreeing to lower their contract rate for this season for the right to be able to end the contract at the end of the season.
