  1. Seems like a weak draft, idk if the front office would be excited about trading up this year in particular. But who knows.

  2. Saw this post on the Pistons sub. A lot of them were down for a move like this, and preferred JG over Ant. Which works for me because id do a trade like this if it was JG+14 for a top 3 pick, but i wouldnt if it was with Ant.

  3. I would dig the JG trade. Opens up the 4 for the newbie and Bari, gets us, in the best case scenario, two top 4 picks. Thats how you get everyone on the same timeline

  4. Grant is a fine player, but I like the idea of opening up minutes for young forwards. I wouldnt mind having some veteran presence on the team, just not for the $52M that Grant and Brogdon will be making this season.

  5. I’d do Grant and 14 for the Pistons pick even if it got knocked to the worst possible spot.

  6. Why do we want assets from this draft? Any trading of a vet should get future picks.

  7. Depends on the exact picks involved. I’m pretty sure the Pistons would have to partial salary match also, I don’t think they can absorb that much salary.

  8. I like Grant, but I would probably do this if it gets us another crack at the top 4. I like the idea of drafting Sarr + Risacher.

  9. It’s a weak draft, but moving ant or jerami for a top 5 pick would be an amazing value for us

  10. I’d be down, I don’t think Detroit would give up that much though, but if we ended up with say 2 and 4 in this draft I’d be happy.

Sarr and Williams can share the court lol

  11. I’m confused why the pistons would give up anything to get Jerami Grant back. I think he is a good player, but he doesn’t move the needle for the pistons and doesn’t fit their timeline at all either.

  12. Realistically, I could see the front office doing the grant trade in a heartbeat but not moving Ant. Although personally, I don’t see a better offer coming for Simons than a top 3 pick, even attaching a lotto pick…

  13. Depends what else comes back. Pistons would have to send other stuff to get the money to work out. With the way the new CBA is I have no idea what that would need to look like.

  14. I don’t see JG as being that useful on our timeline with his contract, veteran presence is all I see him adding. So even though it’s a weak draft I’d still do this, hopefully for some expiring contracts so it opens up more options for us in coming years.

  15. I don’t think Detroit would necessarily want to give up a 1-3 pick to trade back and take an expensive vet

  16. Not a chance Pistons would give up a top-3 pick for JG but if the pick would result in Sarr giving up Ant wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

    Ant + 14 for 1 + Grimes.

  17. Honestly I don’t hate this idea. Wish it was in a stronger draft but maybe Cronin and Co. can pull a couple diamonds out of the lotto.
