The day after the draft Terry Fontenot did an interview with 92.9 and Mike Bell asked a question about what went into the decision to not do the same thing back in 2021, draft Justin Fields to sit behind Matt Ryan, and Terry Fontenot let it fly by saying "and how has that worked out".

Yeah, I heard it live. He was definitely referring to Fields’ on field play. Didn’t like him in 2021 and didn’t like him this off-season either.

Talking a big game for a guy who’s team got smoked by Fields last year. And he thinks our secondary is all Gucci. Not to say Fields should have been taken, but Terry has no room to talk shit about anyone.
For those that don’t listen, Mike asks why they weren’t interested in Fields in 2021 and Terry basically says they didn’t like that class and thought Fields was a reach at #4.

Terry strikes me as the kind of guy who will go out of his way to tell you hes playing chess while everyone else plays checkers. Than ask if pawns are still wild.
