  1. He’s picked it up lately for sure. But let’s not act like he wasn’t ass for the first 10-15 games.

  2. I’m hoping Alonso goes on a tear soon so his apology form comes up too

  3. Stats from his last 7 days: .143/.217/.333/.551

Stats from the whole year: .207/.287/.380/.667

Damn he’s awesome! Totally worth 34 million dollars a year.

Some people just have different standards I guess.

  4. Glad he got a big hit, he needed it.

The problem with Lindor is that nobody can seem to be objective or find a middle ground with him. Both his defenders and haters are super insufferable.

Lindor’s a solid hitter who plays very good defense and is a very good base runner. Is he worth his contract? As it stands, yes. Is he going to provide surplus value when it’s all said and done? Probably not. He’s likely going to be worth his contract…which is the subject of scrutiny. He’s not going to be a massive overpay or a massive underpay at the end of it. He’ll be fairly valued.

Should he be batting 2nd or 3rd? No. Is he an abysmal hitter like people suggest? No.

Is he good for the clubhouse? Signs point to yes. Is he the best shortstop in Mets history? He’s trending that way.

Is he struggling this year? Yes. Is it reason for concern? Eh, it’s too soon to tell.

Is he the best shortstop ever? No way. Is he the best shortstop in baseball? No. Is he in the top 5? Probably? Do I think defensive metrics are overrated? Absolutely. Do I think he’s a future hall of famer? Remains TBD but he’s trending in that direction.

  5. Everyone freaked out when he started slow last year and when all was said and done he had a fantastic season. Surprised a lot of the fanbase is so ready to declare him washed when we’ve literally witnessed this exact scenario before

  6. Also, you forgot, “I’m a racist who hates POC ball players who smile too much.”

  7. Corey Seager is making about the same as Lindor and has a .615 OPS and 77 WRC+ on the season while providing only average defense.

Edit: he’s down to a .594 OPS after today

He has 0.2 WAR on the season and is on pace for 1.2 WAR on the season.

But you don’t see Rangers fans continually writing “hUr dUr $300 MiLlIoN” every day.

Lindor meanwhile, while he has started slow, still has an OPS 62 points higher at .677 and a WRC+ 15% better at 92.

His 0.8 fWAR is on pace for 4.6 fWAR across the whole season.

This sub is full of babies complaining about a player on pace for 4.6 WAR while the Rangers continually support Seager, who can’t stay on the field for a full season and is playing to barely half a league average player.

This sub needs to take a leaf out of the Rangers fans hate and be better.

  8. If the highest paid player hits at a DFA worthy level for the first 20 games, it’s okay to point out he’s playing badly.

Him having one good game does not mean you were wrong to point out he was shit for the first 20.

  9. Corey Seager is pretty awesome but I think lindors stats speak for themself. The team is almost impossible to watch rn.

  10. It’s weird how he can be a top 15 player year after year, be under appreciated by his own fans and yet over somehow considered over paid.

Per win, yeah he’s overpaid, but WTF would the Mets be without him.

  11. I hope the lindor haters enjoyed the Joey wendle SS experience
