Should Chicago White Sox fans worry about Colson Montgomery?

  1. It’s early in the season and he’s never played a game at AAA before this season

  2. All Sox fans should be worried about is a change in ownership. Nothing will matter, with the Bulls too for that matter, until Jerry is gone

  3. We have no reason to believe in him until he’s in the majors putting up big numbers. Like every other prospect.

  4. He’s gonna need the whole year at AAA before we really have a clear picture of where his skill level is at. Got to see his second home run of the year. That was pretty cool.

  5. Well he’s going through the Chicago White Sox development system so I’d say yes. Just as I’d say about any White Sox prospect. I wouldn’t trust any of them to develop until they do.

  6. I’ve been watching the basic stats and he’s not inspiring a lot of confidence early in the season.

  7. I want Colson Montgomery to have a long fruitful career and life, with or without the White Sox. As a Sox fan I’ve moved far beyond “worrying” about any aspect of this team. I just stare out my window and wait for Jerry to sell/die.

  8. You shouldn’t be concerned, but you also shouldn’t be putting the weight of the future of this shit show on him(or any one player)

  9. He’s like almost 5 years younger than the average player in AAA. HIs walk numbers are strong, but the 33 K% means he’s got to adjust his approach. He’ll more than likely be fine.

  10. Until they actually make the majors with the same hype/consistency AND struggle, no. Out of the top 100 prospects on all ranking sites, how many of them are going to make the MLB, stay in the MLB, and play an impactful role in the MLB? And answer is VERY few of them. So honestly just enjoy prospect watching if you’re that type of guy and if it isn’t Colson it’s going to be someone else who’s going to take that opportunity. If you’re a big “what’s the point, we’ll just ruin whoever is actually good?” type of person, then genuinely stop watching/following the Sox and any news related to them. If you feel that way about them considering the owner and front office/management then I hate to break it to you that unfortunately won’t change for quite a WHILE and you’re wasting your time following something that doesn’t make you feel happy at all.

  11. I see him coming up and having a great season. Then every season after he’ll either be hurt all the time, or average to below average. That’s how most developed players go for us
