As a Ranger fan for over 50 years, I am starting to believe the League does not favor us.
Rangers are like 6th or 7th best odds out of 8 teams to make the 2nd round to win the Cup despite winning the President’s Trophy and being the only team to sweep in the first round. People do not think highly of this team.
Well yeah, the Jack Adams is just the award for “Team we thought would suck that didn’t”. People may not love the Rangers’ cup chances, but nobody thought they’d be bad.
The Jack Adams is a wack award anyway. I’ve seen it described as an award for the team that is the most unexpectedly good. That’d be the Canucks this year. Rangers were expected to be good so Lav had that going against him.
But still, earning the President’s Trophy with only four loser points, with Igor slumping half the season, Zibanejad having a relative down year, Fox, Chytil and Trouba getting hurt and getting career years out of Tro and Bread should have deserved a nod. He took a good roster coming off an embarrassing playoff exit and made them a juggernaut. We’re on to the Canes, got a bigger Trophy on our minds.
The Athletic power rankings this week have the Rangers at *sixth*, after the Canes, Avalanche, Panthers, Oilers, and Stars. Mind blowing how much disrespect the Presidents’ Trophy winner is getting.

This will motivate this team even more. And I think this might have awoken a sleeping giant. Lav is gonna use this a motivation
No surprise there. The league and the TV networks hate the Rangers lol
