Thoughts about Phil Handy as a potential head coach?

  1. >Handy has served as player development coach for the Los Angeles Lakers under Mike Brown. Still under Brown, he served as assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He then moved to the Toronto Raptors as assistant for Nick Nurse.[9] He then moved back to the Lakers under Frank Vogel.[10]

    >Handy went to 6 consecutive NBA Finals, 4 with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2015–2018), 1 with the Toronto Raptors (2019), and 1 with the Los Angeles Lakers (2020) winning championships in 2016, 2019, and 2020.[11]

  2. Would be a great option. Lakers fans love him. He’s got a lot of experience coaching players individually and hands on.

He can see the talent in players and maybe has a strong vision for how to get the best out of a guy like Coulibaly.

  3. Could we just throw him a bag for him to be an assistant/development guy here

  4. I don’t see any reason why the Wizards would get rid of Keefe until they’re over .500. Keefe has a great development track record and they’re not going to get an elite coach until they have enough talent. As long as Keefe upholds standards, there is no reason to get another mediocre coach to bridge the gap to an elite coach.
