[James Fox] Source: Bryan Ramos is indeed being called up by the White Sox . If he plays, it’ll be his big league debut.

Ramos is the #4 prospect per MLB.com’s rankings. He slashed .182/.265/.307 in 24 games with Birmingham this season.

  1. Too many words to formulate what I want to say on this atm and too tired so I’ll revisit this later. I think. Or forget. Fuck if I know.

Unsure I like it though. I’ll sleep on it.

E: I think the worst part of this though is that people who don’t know who Ramos is are going to take his struggling stats he’s having this year at face value and not the stat’s hes regularly posted cause nobody ever does any research with this team. He had a span of roughly 2 months last year in AA where he went 360/.469/.740/1.209. WRC of 203 and striking out less than 15% of the time. That’s honestly what angers me the most about this. People will just see him slumping now and think he’s a shit prospect when he’s honestly probably a better pure hitter than Colson.

**In the last week of play Ramos has an OPS of 1.041** (I think this is higher than everyone on the team including Baldwin but I would need to check)

E2: Actually I think this is only happening cause of the status of the 40 man and Ramos is on the 40 man and someone like Montgomery is not. You can argue well why didn’t they call up Sosa then and that’s cause Sosa is injured. Me actually sleep now but go read this first https://www.reddit.com/r/whitesox/comments/1cjsyfe/the_acl_white_sox_start_play_tomorrow/

  2. we’re calling up a AA guy that has some shitty stats? this is like when we called up Prelander Berroa for one game when he had an 8 ERA in AAA. i love this team

  3. Babe, wake up. The Sox are about to stunt the development of another prospect.

  4. My only joy this season has been getting to see the players from the single A team in Winston get a shot at AAA and the majors so even if this fails spectacularly I’ll still be a bit excited that I got to watch him play a couple years ago.

  5. Maybe he’ll play well unexpectedly. And then we can trade him away for less developed prospects and a washed up veteran that should’ve retired years ago.

  6. **Important bit of context:**

Over the last 8 games his OPS is 1.038.
