Day 96 of posting my favorite Raiders player to wear the number of the day: Darrell Russell

This pick brought back a bunch of memories, some bad and some great. Russell was a dawg on the field, but he just couldn’t stay fuckin clean. He failed multiple PED tests and was suspended multiple times for it, but when he was on the field he was an absolute force to be reckoned with. He played in 75 games with 65 starts and recorded 28.5 sacks, one interception, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He was also credited with one safety. Russell was named 1st Team All-Pro in 1998 and selected for two Pro Bowls. For those who don’t know, Russell passed away at the very young age of 29 in a car accident. While our memories of him are not 100% fond, he will always be remembered as a Raider, not a Redskin. May he Rest in Peace.🕊️🏴‍☠️

  1. Autry was so underrated here. Because of Russel’s off field stuff I wouldn’t put him there but he was a monster. To bad he couldn’t control his personal life

  2. no Clelin Ferrell? he was a high character guy and a leader or so Mayock and Gruden said.
