I don’t get it. Does that somehow make the decision less dumb? It in fact makes it even worse that the FO cannot figure out what’s needed at the hour rather than focusing on a distant future. In my mind, if we think Kirk of as a stopgap then there’s no point of blowing 150 mil on him. We could’ve just drafted Penis and stuck with him. But if the desire is to win, then get the players that we need the most and win.

Sources close to Terry say the GM eyed several players throughout this process but landed on Penix because of key factors.
Falcons fans say despite mixed reactions to the selection of Penix Jr, fuck the saints.
My theory is that they were expecting to grab him in the 2nd round or possibly trade up into the late first but heard rumors of Vegas or Denver wanting him so they pivoted and drafted him at 8. In an ideal scenario they would have traded back, gotten another 2nd, drafting Latu in R1 and Penix in R2
I’m not a Falcons fan/this just appeared on my suggested feed, but I think Penix was a great pick for you guys. “Value” is dumb/the only thing that matters is results, and you guys have a great QB for now and a promising QB with time to heal and prepare, I wanted him to be a Raider so I’m jealous and I’ll be watching you guys.

This dipped in ice story is pretty hilarious. Something the falcons really need to worry about in Benz. I guess since it’s always 65 in there and every corporate fan is in the Gullwing lounge or near the field it might become important. I challenge the staff to watch those NFCCG in Philly with Vick. Those games weren’t won or lost on a hard throwing arm. And the falcons really did prioritize athletic traits after all. Something some fans didn’t want to see at 8.

The only way this pick really pans out is if y’all win the superbowl this year or Kirk gets injured again otherwise it’s a dumb pick
