Tigers vs. Yankees Game Highlights (5/4/24) | MLB Highlights

last time on Monday in Baltimore one run five and two3 Innings if you do that again you’re going to win a lot of games Clark Schmid was really good last year’s lefties hit over 300 so far this year 200 Tigers had five hits last night green had three of them and he is arguably the most impressive hitter for this Detroit lineup and Riley green takes a rip at this pitch and he demolishes it Riley’s here it’s one nothing Tigers well it’s Bry green again guys we’re talking about getting himself in hitting position and good hitters count that’s because of the play discipline he gets rewarded here two pitch right down the middle and he unleashes crushes this ball Riley green big fly to right field to get the Tigers on the board afternoon Pizza grab yourself a slice here in New York City Riley green is on a roll right now right field Sono got a good jump for the first up the pitch swing in a Miss strike three knuckle curve from Schmidt he retires Perez and there’s the second out and next up to the plate another Stormtrooper he goes by the name of carry Carpenter sweeper comes in did it clip him it did catcher trino caught the ball but Carri Carpenter hit by the pitch trots down to First and that’ll extend the inning for Matt beerling Carpenter will get an early break the pitch in there called strike three sweeper at the knees Schmidt strikes verling out and he gets out of the top of the first a young right-hander Casey mice this will be a six start 1 and0 3.08 undefeated the tigers are 5-0 in his his starts this year two strike ground ball to shortstop it’s a charging mckinstry he’s got to uncor and he got him down goes vuli to start the ball game what a play by Zach mckinstry yeah I love the jump coming in on this ball that mckinstry gets how quickly he has to get rid of this baseball he picks it and right to the transfer and gets rid of that baseball quick round ball oh man Casey m going high with the extendo arm and Inspector Gadget makes out number two pitch swinging a hardliner right field B face it angling over to cut it off is Carpenter he fire it in quickly and it’s a two out single for the center fielder Aaron judge tapped weakly left side past the mound verling has it and he’s going to eat it well it wasn’t a bun single but it looked the same as a bunt and Verdugo is a board over at first judged to Second where did we see that before well that was kind of an excuse me play he’s laughing you know just put the ball at play he M hit it grounded into the dirt one thing about Stanton he’s done well this year with Runners and scoring position 7 for 23 he’s in that spot right now first and second two outs driven to right field Carpenter it’s over his head and up against the wall judge scores they’re going to hold for Dugo a third stand hit it so hard he stays at first he picks up a rivy game tied at one just another rocket just like the one last night High Fly ball right field shallow Carpenter in toward his left will make the catch two sharp singles producer run with a little swinging but one base hit in between start of the third one-1 ball game and Clark Schmidt against Carson Kelly 3-2 swing and a miss strike three the cutter and Clark gets the number nine hitter Kelly there’s one away onew swing and a miss strike three the knuckle curve from Schmidt back to- back strikeouts and he’s now retired six straight the two two swing and a miss he strikes out the side six strikeouts in three innings for Schmidt will’ll go to the bottom of the third 3 four pitches through two we really do keep an eye on those pitch counts when you’re facing the Yankees this is a tough team to face then VY Works a leadoff walk here in the third good solid bat there and there’s a base hit pass terson in right field buy will go to Third and the Yankees will play in the corners first and third nobody out m is splitter and if you look at the numbers on the splitter that’s his most effective pitch big situation it’s on the table the ho it bat against Aaron judge at 174 against that pitch Jo to left field that ball is going to be in there for a base hit VY scores stto will go to third judge at second with a double Yankees with a 2-1 lead there was a splitter left up in the zone the judge just moved his hands in stayed with it turned on it into left there is one of them to first base torque looks Soto back and moon walks on to First there’s one away and there’s one of those ground balls wave at a Miss strike three and was that splitter and there are two away second and third two ODS Yankees have the lead Two To One RBI situation for anony Rizo Fly ball right field there it goes C A Long three-run home run and the Yankees lead 5 to one to a four seam fast ball tried to get it by him but Rizzo caught up to it A Difference A Day Makes huh Michael couldn’t score runs all of a sudden now great at bats home runs first to third everything you should do as a baseball team you have teams that don’t chase they don’t swing up bad pitches they don’t strike out a punch and then if you miss they make you pay in a big way first out here in the fourth inning Tigers down 5-1 KN base runners needs to put some pressure on Clark Schmidt Perez takes off swing line dri slicing down the right field line will it stay Fair yes it does into the corner Perez is being waved around third he will score ball gets away from stto rounding second heading to third is verling and he will make it without a throw stand up triple into the right field corner for verling and the Tigers cut the Yankees lead to 5 to2 32 broken bat flare into right field that will get the job done SoDo lines up a throw coming to the plate it’s down the first base side and Keith does get the rbii it is 5 to three so two away nobody on here’s Riley green 5-3 Yankees in front oh boy well he came back in and he drilled Riley green well we know Riley green he’s not going anywhere he’s going to stay in there and he does the right thing by turning on this ball here he’s doing the right thing there you got to stretch it out that that’s going to get tight it’s going to get tight quickly he’s laughing now Rizzo just made him feel better first baseman have a way of doing that if you what what are the magic words in that situation so Mark canah suddenly is a tying run in this ball game rounded to third Cabrera goes the short way to get the force and that’ll do it no runs to hit one man left we halfway through Yankees up 5-3 bottom of the seventh here’s judge strike three judge not throw with that call and he gets thrown out I think that’s the first time he’s ever been thrown out he wasn’t in the guy’s face I don’t know what he said so you know what I mean it’s a very questionable call borderline at best no so if you say something and walk away it’s not like he showed anybody up you got no business and it was maybe outside it’s a a questionable call said something turned around and walked away and as he was walking away he got tossed that isn’t who he is what could he have said Yankee pen with a 2.37 ER that’s the best in baseball ins spectacular trying to close the door on this two-run lead strike three Carpenter does not like the call yeah again I mean he’s been a little lack on the corners on both sides of one Daron judge questionable now this you got to call it both ways and this ball clearly off the plate but it was a strike for Luke Weaver they call on Klay Holmes to get a four out save strike three beerling down looking Klay Holmes racks up Matt beerling and that end the top of the eighth so Klay Holmes struck out veing to end the eighth now he’ll trying to get the final three outs Ian pinch hit for Colt Keith in the sixth inning and struck out against Weaver two2 he kind of fell into his delivery there and ianes has a base hit to lead off the ninth so here’s tlen he comes to the pl as a tying run this could be two there’s one there’s two they roll him up 463 base is wiped clean two away and the Yankees one out from Victory Zach mckinstry the final hope for Detroit he’s one for three and they get it ball game over Yankees win this one five to three Yankee Bullpen has been near perfect Rizzo with a three-run home run and the Yankees take the first two games of this series

  1. Judge getting his first ejection? He must have learned that from Boone. Umpires have been extremely wild and inconsistent this season.

Let's go get this sweep tomorrow and be 10 games over .500 with a much needed day off. GO YANKEES!!!!#CHASEFOR28

  2. There’s a serious problem with MLB and their umpires when Aaron Boone gets thrown out for saying nothing and Aaron Judge, the nicest guy in baseball, gets thrown just for mildly arguing a call and walking away.

  3. yankees need to play small ball more, steal bases, and hit and run to stop being the league leader in double playswhich will produce more runs

  4. When to tell any official in a game that their calls are "Bull$h!#" then you run the risk of getting tossed. May have been a bit of an ego bruise that aided the umps call, but you cannot be surprised it happened.

  5. It's time for Robo umpires, they are so bad on making calls now. The umpire can still be at the plate calling safe or out, but let's have some gadget that umpires hold to make the ball or strike calls right👍🏻

  6. I am really sick of baseball now! The umpires are dictating who plays at will; and are changing the outcome of the game with their fraudulent calls;there is no integrity to the game and MLB has clearly shown they have no intention of fixing the situation/problems the umpires have ruined the game. I no longer watch and sure won’t spend money to go to the park. I look at the highlights just to see who the umpires are allowing to play and win
