[Sky Kruse] Loved this answer by QB2 Tyson Bagent on how he is going to help Caleb Williams. Doesn’t get talked about enough how lucky we got getting a quality backup from UDFA. #Bears

  1. No Ego, succinct, and has proven he can play at a acceptable level — Bagent is a king and I hope he is around as QB2 for a while.

  2. I said this from the beginning, even when someone posted a couple months about someone challenging him for QB2 and how he had sloppy games. He is a gem of a find for the organization for a back up role. He fought just to earn a roster spot. Being a backup in this league is not an easy feat. Yes he doesn’t have the arm strength or accuracy! But what he did as a rookie as far as keeping tempo on the field, and actually digesting the oppositions defense was very good. He’s going to be an asset on the sideline for Caleb as far as keeping his mind right, as well as reviewing plays.

  3. I honestly think Tyson Bagent will continue to stay a long-term Bear, due to the simple fact that I think he understands schemes and tape exceptionally well (?). I’m curious where everyone else is leaning?. Tbh I have the knowledge of a toddler about the NFL (but I’m learning something new everyday and enjoying it, especially with this team!), Anyways, for some reason I feel strongly about long-term Bagent. It seems Brett Rypien is supposed to be the valuable veteran presence with experience and more valuable knowledge. Then there’s UDFA Austin Reed who appears to be the typical built-in competition for Bagent ( while still a UDFA credit to Poles for drafting a seemingly very high ceiling QB AGAIN, like he said he would every year). Austin Reed clearly has a straight up cannon, unlike Bagent. Maybe Bagent becomes the most valuable tradable piece? Overall I’m very curious how this plays out. Any thoughts, predictions on this? I’m sorry if this makes no sense, just so excited learning about all these NFL team intricacies and excited for this team! 🐻🔽

  4. Bagent talks with the same cadence as Mitch Hedberg, am I imagining that?

  5. Practice Squad QB3 when they sign tanny. Bagent’s noodle arm isnt nfl level. Great story, nice guy, just zero arm strength.

  6. I like Tyson as a person. Seems like a good kid.

But I’m still not sure he’s any good. For a backup I want a game manager who doesn’t lose the game with bad turnovers. 6 INTs in 3 games is concerning.

  7. It worries me with the new offensive staff. Hopefully he can continue to impress and keeps his spot on the team.

If we do cut him, he’d be a Raider in about 24 hours I bet.

  8. I like the idea of the Bears just trying to grab under the radar QB talent and see if they can flip for picks.
