[Jones] Cardinals have placed Giovanny Gallegos on the IL with a right shoulder impingement, selected Chris Roycroft, moved Tommy Edman to the 60-day IL.

I could have told you the day Tommy Edman’s surgery was announced that this would have happened. This team’s medical staff is as awful as the front office.
Chris Roycroft is a 26 year old RHP with a 1.38 ERA in 13 IP, with much less rosy peripherals (4.63 FIP, 6.23 K/9, 4.15 BB/9, .237 BABIP, 95.9% strand rate).
He’s basically roster filler until a better pitcher gets called up or they need a 40 man spot.
Tommy Edman seems to be another victim of the cardinals medical staff
Giving more credibility to that rumor his surgery got botched…

As for Edman, I think we’ll be lucky to see him at all this season; wrists are tricky.

Team has been lost since long before they mishandled the wall punching chump Reyes and he was at Johnson city in 2013. Going from 1.79 ERA and 70 SO in 50 1⁄3 innings in Palm Beach in 2015 to punching a wall and breaking your pinky finger in 2019 to getting non tendered in 2022.

I haven’t been keeping that close of tabs on things, glad this doesn’t mean yet another setback for Tommy. Man, I can’t wait until he’s back.
