This is prob the biggest issue Pacers fans are ignoring. Sure we got an insanely favorable whistle the last 2 mins of the game but when your starting max contract PG shoots 6 shots all game including 0 in the fourth, gets hunted on defense and begs for a switch/double when he’s matched up with Brunson and refuses to shoot wide open middies or even slightly wide open 3s it’s cooked for their offense. They looked so much better with McConnell out there.
I saw a thread in the Pacers sub in which the OP went on a sensical rant about how he didn’t play up to task. Got his downvotes, of course, but some agreed in principle. McConnell killed us, Halliburton was our 6th man in crunch time.
He was honest about his poor play, too. So hard to hate on anyone after dealing with Embiid’s bratty BS.
The refs made the ball go in the basket for Brunson.
Your best players need to show out at the end of the day. That’s playoff basketball. If they don’t, then you will lose. Period.
Go Knicks all the way, but wasn’t Haliburton questionable to play due to back spasms? Dunno if that would be the best game to consider his contributions. I’m curious how he bounces back.
We haven’t gotten calls for 20 fuckin years all I know is this KNICKS team is full of DAWGS who play the full 48

I think they know Haliburton played rough. He’s also playing through injury. Also the Pacers got hosed by calls at the end of the game and their complaints are reasonable. All. 3 of these things can be true.
Been seeing a lot of comments like “they can’t let a small market team win”. As if the Knicks paid off the league lol. Did people forget the Knicks had terrible luck for decades? How are we suddenly getting the benefit of refs and are on the other side of things? It was literally a meme how bad our luck has been over the years. Now we’re good and it’s bc it’s rigged?
I understand the kick ball complaints, but Turner’s moving screen was challenged and they still called it a foul. Every game is going to have questionable calls, you still need to find a way to close it out.
I wouldn’t be happy with the late game officiating if it happened to us, but Halliburton was terrible. They should be angrier about him not showing up.
There were times I forgot he was on the floor last night. McConnell was way more impactful.
I can see how the refs in the floor called it a kick ball. However it’s not reviewable. Dumb rule but the game wasn’t rigged for the Knicks. I’d stay off their sub and just enjoy the win.

Dude was ready to chuck that 3 before DDV got hit on the screen. They would have been unbearable if he hit it.
TH did the right thing for 3/4 of the game and distributed. Had to take over in crunch time but couldn’t and yet ours found a way. Anyone pointing at officiating and BS conspiracies can EAD.
If the pacers made their 4 missed free throws the game would have been tied and their Star Point Guard made 1 point they could have won.
The Knicks have had the best player in 4 out of 7 games this postseason and a lot of times that’s the difference. The playoffs generally come down to “who has the best guy” and the scary thing about round 1 and the best thing for the Knicks is that we thought it would be Embiid but it’s actually Brunson. Brunson annihilated the PG matchup in game 1 that was the difference. If Haliburton showed up like Brunson did then the Pacers would have had a good chance to win this game.
It’s all a deflection to avoid admitting that you’re “superstar” didn’t show up. Wally deserves an apology bcuz he called it.

Teams both benefit and are hurt with bad calls. Just a fact of life nowadays. Pacers didn’t help themselves with turnovers, fouling before the inbounds and getting nothing from Halliburton. Also a 6’4” Josh Hart out hustling them on the glass.
I’m sure we will be crying about bad calls in game 2 again, whether it’s us or them.
