  1. Aside from the World Series championships and other playoff heroics as well as the 1st no-no this has to be one of the greatest moments in Mets history at least in my opinion. If not one of the greatest it has to be one of the most unexpected and surprising moments. lol

  2. Not only is this great because of the impossibility of the moment, but also because of just how perfect Gary and Ron’s call of it was.

  3. The best part is if you slow it down, you can see Bartolo break out in a big grin before he even finishes swinging.

  4. I remember watching this game. It was a weird Saturday start time out west if i remember correctly. I called my dad immediately and was screaming into the phone like we just won game 7 of the WS. It was so shocking and hilarious at the same time.

  5. And that pitcher (Shields) was traded for….Fernando Tatis Jr.

  6. I’ve always loved how the clip starts with Gary saying “Colon is looking for his first hit of the year”

  7. I was with T7L at this game and figured a guy of his size had to have homered at least once. Glad I was wrong and got to witness history.

  8. What I remember from the next day is that this broke the BOOM, (Bartolo Offensive Output Meter) on the sidebar of this subreddit.

There was no column for home runs on it, so the 1 HR got slapped on top of it for the rest of the season.
