  1. History will show that the Cleveland Guardians played a baseball game today

  2. Positives from today’s Cleveland (and minor league) baseball:

The offense puts up one heck of a fight, getting 7 runs off of 8 hits, 4 walks, and a Gimmy stolen base. We get some genuine 💨 power with a 2 run home run, and Florial, 🐐, and 🐦 each get a double.

Hmm, CBus isn’t far into their game… how about everybody else? (Written Mid 7) Petey Halpin is the Akron offense with a triple tonight (no further comments on the status of the Akron game).

(Written End 4) Parker Messick goes 4IP, 3H, 3R, 4BB, and 3K for Lake County with one of the runs being a solo shot. C.J. Kayfus goes deep with a solo home run and now has a .355 average, while Alex Mooney goes 2/3 and raises his average to .326.

Rafael Ramirez Jr hits his first home run of the year for Lynchburg, and it ends up being a grand slam, leading Lynchburg in a 7 run 6th inning for a 7-5 victory.

Tugboat day. Tugboat day. Tugboat day. Matt “Tugboat” Wilkinson goes 4.2IP, 4R(2ER), 0BB, and 9K on 71 pitches. One of the earned runs came on a solo homer, and Tugboat’s ERA explodes, going from 0.35 to 0.89. Tugboat. Rorik Maltrud followed up Tugboat with a 4.1IP, 2H, 1R(0ER), 0BB, and 6K outing.

  3. Dog shit game by Allen, base running blunder by Jose and misplay by Florial in LF stand out, but we scored 7 and looked hot until all the momentum died, and the bullpen was good. Even Avila.

Bibee can prove he’s the ace tomorrow with a series win.

  4. Need starting pitching help. Bullpen is a saving grace, but they’re gonna run out of gas before the all star break if starters can’t routinely get 6 innings.

  5. That’s on pitching today. Good to see Josh and Jose have good days and nice to see Kyle putting some balls in play. They’ll fall soon

  6. Think I’m slowly getting ready to admit I was wrong about Tyler Freeman. He isn’t cutting it.

And glad that Florial is getting a big chance with Kwan out. I’ve liked his reads and his throws look good. I think he could be the one left standing for the RF job.

  7. If you want some good news, Jose has looked like he is just waiting to break out massively lately. In his last 64 PA, 15 games, he is slashing .250/.344/.518 for a .862 OPS, while fighting a .217 BABip!! His walk rate in this stretch has been 10.9%, higher than his 9.4% k rate. This is the Josey we know and love.
