Got a Fanatics Jersey at the Rogers Arena store. Are they really as bad as everyone says or do they have to follow certain standards now that they are representing the NHL. I’m a bit worried.

  1. The quality and care just isn’t there, that’s why so many people are worried about them taking over and getting Adidas while they can

  2. Theres a reason people have no faith in fanatics. Theyve proven to be trash through and through time after time.

  3. If it helps, you don’t really have a choice to make if you’re set on a black skate with the current design for this year’s playoffs. The Adidas black skates are discontinued because they’ve halted production as Fanatics prepares to take over as the manufacturer next season.

That means your choices are limited to buying the current Fanatics version now, paying ~$500 for an Adidas jersey on the resale market, or waiting until the offseason for a new Fanatics jersey of unknown quality.

I think the best play is to pick up an Adidas orca jersey that’s much easier to find on clearance for a lower price, and waiting to see what Fanatics comes out with next season. As much hate as Fanatics deserves, they’ll have an “authentic” tier that’s a step above the heat-pressed version that’s on sale now.

  4. The fanatics jersey are nowhere close to the quality of the adidas ones. With that being said, I would not worry too much about it. With proper care you should be just fine. Might have to Reglue down corners of numbers or nameplates over time. Also worth noting that people never give the fanatics jerseys credit for being much more comfortable to wear than adidas. The actual material of the jersey is silky as fuck

  5. Fanatics is just worse quality. If your gonna buy it its always best to buy in person cuz ur gonna get scammed if u buy online

  6. Having actually seen them in person during game to and talked to the team member in the team store.

They are quality checked before then put them out for sale and in a month only sent back 12 for stitching issues.

But also having seen them they are cheap and looked phoned in knock offs of the Adidas jerseys. I’ll explain.

The fanatics jersey that are replacing the authentic Adidas jerseys are missing the stitched patches, they are partially stick and partially screen coloured patches including the main crest very little of the main crest is actually stitched.

Adidas shoulder patches are 90% stitched onto a coloured material for the base colour.

The jersey material itself feels heavy like a very comfortable t-shirt, but heavy.

Adidas jersey are considered one of the comfiest jerseys ever made lightweight and breathable.

This probably saved fanatics over $20 (my guess more than $50) per jersey.

Fanatics is the same price as the Adidas authentics but cost far less to make because of their corner cutting with materials and stitching.

I own over 25 authentic jerseys dating back to the first orca jersey. I won’t be buying a fanatics jersey for awhile because I am very very picky about what I spend $300+ on.

Edit: now with all that, we don’t know what full production runs will look like quality wise. when players start wearing the fanatics branded jerseys we will have the official adidas replacements in the wild. the black skate you are holding is the current fanatic run and may not be final/next seasons look

  7. You have the jersey so see for yourself. It’s trash quality. They feel like cheap knockoffs.

  8. I don’t care how nice the jersey is or isn’t I just can’t get over there crests and lack of sticking in the logo.

  9. You bought it at the team store. They will take care of you don’t worry. DO NOT PUT IN THE DRIER.

  10. I just posted about them earlier this week. My wife and I each got a Quinn Hughes. The “c” is in different locations which sucks but other than that they are great. I’m a high school teacher and wore mine on Friday. A bunch of 8th graders told me my drip was fire. If they pass the judgy teenager test, they are golden in my eyes!

  11. I bought a fanatics orca jersey a bunch of years ago now. I liked that the logo was soft and a little sparkly and I got it on sale. Had H. SEDIN put on it at the team store and then had the HOF patch pressed on it on the induction celebration night. I like it enough. As someone else said, the logos are a lot less ‘pizza box-ey’ than the Adidas ‘rain’ jersey, the black Adidas black skate and even my old Kesler orca. The only one softer is the old CCM stick in rink that I have, but I never wear because its kit with Linden and I got him to sign it so it’s a treasure to me.

Most of the issues I’ve seen with Fanatics, if they got the initial logo correct and centered, are around the name and numbers peeling or shirts and hoodies wearing. I haven’t seen a ton of problems with the actual jersey yet. But also, there’s plenty of time.

  12. The weird hybrid logo stitching is a deal breaker for me, can’t be cutting corners on that.

  13. Still dog shit, NHL doesn’t give a fuck about the quality. All about profit profit profit.

  14. They’re way worse than the Reebok whale jersey I have.

But if you get a good price it isn’t gonna fall apart. I bought the skate for $140 (USD) and have been rocking it all season. I’ve worn it around fires and washed it and lazed around in it and no threads are tearing or anything. The overall look of the jersey is nice, so just don’t spend too much and it’s worth it.

  15. Everyone is very instant-angry at Fanatics, and maybe with good reason, however my favourite jersey is fanatics and I’ve worn it many times over the past five years or so and it’s in great shape.

  16. [Everyone should watch this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUch6eqw5Qc&t=484s), this guy has great insight on the transition from Adidas to Fanatics. He also goes on to explain the whole MLB/Nike/Fanatics issue as well. So maybe it wont be as bad as we all expect, but I’ll be waiting to see what the actual products are. At least the place that makes the MiC jerseys in Montreal is being retained by Fanatics, so those people are at least trusted

  17. I rock the adidas jersey and there is definitely a difference in quality between both of them.

  18. They’re horrible. Next time you are at a game, keep an eye out for other Fanatic jerseys because you can see the patches falling off
