Bernie on the Cardinals: “Accountability” Doesn’t Just Apply to the Manager. Oli Marmol Didn’t Hire Himself.

  1. Oil didn’t fire his predecessor on a whim because of a disagreement in philosophy, then hire the 1st yes man he saw. I have felt that if Oli failed, Mo should be on the chopping block too. We were patient when he extended Matheny, we were patient when he extended an bunch of guys past their prime when Matheny wouldn’t play the young guys, we were patient when they carried all that Jason Hayward money on the books, and we’ve been patient watching this team lose 90 games last year and stink it up this year. Maybe patience isn’t the problem.

  2. Heyward was a one year, 20 million dollar contract. He was an albatross for the cubs, not the cardinals.
