WHAT’S NEXT FOR ROD BRIND’AMOUR? #nhl #nhlplayoffs #bostonbruins #newjerseydevils

after the Carolina Hurricanes were eliminated by the New York Rangers last night Rod bremore was asked about his future in Carolina and his response was we’ll see how it shakes out so today we’re going to be asking the big question what is next for Rod the bod bremore hey everybody Welcome in clearing the bench is your One-Stop shop for daily fresh hockey content if you go ahead and hit your subscribe button right now every single day we’ll bring you in a new hockey video to enjoy uh first of all I want to congratulate Carol in on an awesome season that team is very very difficult to play against uh I didn’t realize that I had kind of forgotten that before the season they were the Stanley Cup favorites at a plus 800 that is a lot of pressure to carry on uh you know your shoulders throughout the season and I think brymore did an excellent job coaching them I think he’s just a really good coach in general and today we’re going to take a look you know if he doesn’t come back to Carolina we’re going to take take a look at some of the other places that may be calling him asking him if he wants to be behind their bench next season uh I think personally there’s less than a 50% chance that he’s going to go back to Carolina he’s had a lot of success but unfortunately for him in the Conference Finals the last three times they were swept all three times uh and maybe you know the management was kind of put a little extra pressure on him you know Stanley cuper bust so uh I’m just going to say I think there’s going to be less than a 50% chance he comes back I think he’s kind of run his course down there you know he was a player and then the coach that’s a long time uh to be down there so we’re going to take a look at some other options we think he may have in the very near future uh first one we’re going to look at the Toronto Maple Leafs okay Brandon Shanahan he he may want a guy behind the bench who’s a little bit more of I don’t want to say a presid Sheldon keth was bought up through the system you know he had the success with the Marley’s and then you know he was the next guy it was the right pick at the time and again I think Sheldon Keef did an awesome job behind the bench in Toronto he just couldn’t win in the playoffs that’s all it came down to maybe they want to change his scenery with a little bit more grit a little bit more girth you know you got some highly skilled guys on that team and in the playoffs a couple of them were accused of not given 100% effort and brind mo is not going that’s unacceptable in brind Moore’s world that’ll never happen he will bench you he will sit you up in the Press Box for a game he doesn’t care who you are he will send the message to you loud and clear uh personally I think that could be exactly what Toronto needs to get over the hump I think maybe a guy who’s behind the bench that the players look back at and I don’t want to say they’re a little bit nervous around but you know what they’re going to pay extra attention Sheldon ke in my opinion he just seems like the nicest guy in the world and I just don’t see him going in the locker room screaming maybe brind deore is not so much of a screamer per se but if he Stomps his foot and points his finger everybody’s going to be listening in that room that is for sure uh Toronto I think would be a great fit for brendam Moore next up the New Jersey Devils in my personal opinion I think it’s coming down again if brymore were to leave Carolina I think it would come down to Craig barui or Rod brymore uh I’ve heard a lot of rumors that two finalists down in Jersey so far are barui and Sheldon Keefe and I think both of them would do an awesome job in Jersey in my opinion Jersey is ready to win uh you know they got to figure out that D situation with douge Hamilton and again some of these kids that you know they’re young they’re 22 years old some of them didn’t play up to their expectations this year so maybe having a summer off and you know they grow a little bit they just get a little bit more mature and next year you’re going to get some more of that secondary scoring that the Devils really need you know you’re always going to get your numbers out of like brat Hughes and uh heer those guys are always always going to do their part you got to get the secondary guys around them you need depth so I could see the New Jersey Devils uh if they wanted you know a guy behind the bench with like a real real firm attitude ude is what I’m going to call that you know what there’s not a whole lot of wiggle room it’s either my way or the highway and I think Jersey again they’re ready to win if they can get that D situation maybe upgrade their goal tending a little bit I think this year they will be right back in the race so uh we could look for brinmore possibly there uh Seattle no I’m just going to say it right off the bat everybody paints a big Rosy picture of Ron Francis and Ron bremore I looked into it and apparently back in the day it was not so Rosy after all uh there were a lot of people in Carolina that said that Ron Francis did not make the best executive decisions and he hired guys uh maybe a little bit more on you know familiarity than you know their credentials uh and I would think you know what maybe if they called maybe brind Moore still got a little bur in his saddle but the first time brind Moore wanted that Carolina Coach Ron Francis gave it to Bill Peters instead and even then Bill Peters had a little bit of a reputation and hadn’t gotten to the point you know where he got dismissed in Calgary but there were still some rumors you know that he wasn’t the nicest and best person to be around so the fact that Ron Francis picked Bill Peters over rod brymore you never know guys sometimes have long memories maybe he doesn’t maybe bremore says you know what let me go out to Seattle they got some young kids out there I could get a fresh start I can see what the Northwest is all about uh but personally I don’t think so I think brind deore is the type of guy with a long memory now the next two teams I’m going to talk about already have head coaches okay the first one I’m going to talk about is the Philadelphia Flyers I still think uh and you know what as time gets closer to the draft I could be getting proven wrong but I still think that John tarella is going to move up into the front office of the Philadelphia Flyers and I think if that’s the case they’re going to have it already I would think that they would just bring barui right back in uh to be their coach and I think you know they would have it all lined up ahead of time hey torz you know would you want to do this if he says yes then they reach out to barui and say would you want this job and you know it’s kind of putting the band back together that would be an awesome for some you know some brain power buuy torella Keith Jones Danny Brier that would be you know what I can see the Flyers being on the come real quick uh so if if torz were to go up into the front office and that’s a huge if that’s like a less than 50% chance now uh I could see that happening and then next up we got to see what happens with the Boston Bruins and Jim Montgomery uh I personally think if they lost that first series to Toronto Montgomery would have already been on the coaching Carousel uh and unfortunately you know what uh he’s running up against a buz saw again in Florida and if they were to lose to Florida I think they would would kind of be looking ahead and thinking you know what would they have had a chance against the Rangers so would this have been the end of the line anyway as far as you know as far as Jim Montgomery can take us so I love Jim Montgomery as a coach I hope that they keep him there I hope that the guy can figure out what’s going on you know with the Bruins they’ve had injuries I don’t like their roster so much personally I put a lot of the blame on Don Sweeney and Cam Neely and you don’t hear those guys taking a whole lot of flack from the Press you know it’s always usually guided towards the coaches uh so if Boston were to move on from Jim Montgomery holy cow could you imagine a better guy behind the Boston bench than Rod brymore I think the fans at first might be a little iffy on brendam Moore but they would love brendam Moore’s approach his style of coaching and definitely his honesty they would really really like that so uh I don’t really know what going to happen with brind more but in case he does move on from Carolina we just wanted to look at some of the other possible options maybe he’s gone in less than a week two weeks uh if he leaves Carolina his phone’s going to be blowing up and if he really does want to get back to work right away I’m sure he could handpick his spot so uh let me know what you think down in the comments section if you think brymore is staying down in Carolina if he moves on where do you think he would move to if you could please hit the like button the Subscribe button what do we always do here clear the benches let them know you’re out there

Roderic Jean “Rod” Brind’Amour (born August 9, 1970) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL).

He was selected in the first round, ninth overall, by the St. Louis Blues in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. Brind’Amour has also played for the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes, the latter with whom he captained to the Stanley Cup in 2006, marking the first championship in franchise history.

On June 7, 2011, Brind’Amour was introduced by the Carolina Hurricanes as their assistant coach and development coach, retaining his role in developing the franchise’s forwards while also spending time behind the bench in the NHL.

Brind’Amour represented the Hurricanes in a ceremony before the Charlotte Checkers’ first home game as Carolina’s new American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

On May 8, 2018, Brind’Amour was hired as the Hurricanes’ head coach. In his first season as head coach, Brind’Amour guided the team to its first playoff berth in a decade, leading them to the Eastern Conference finals where they were swept by the Boston Bruins.

On April 26, 2021, Brind’Amour became the first head coach in Hurricanes history to lead the team to the playoffs in three consecutive seasons. On June 17, Brind’Amour agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Hurricanes. That same day, Brind’Amour was awarded the Jack Adams Award, given annually to the NHL’s coach of the year.
