The Klay discourse has turned into:
Side A: Klay is old and is mid
Side B: well here is a stat that says he’s one of the best shooters in the NBA still
Side A: bruh, he’s washed!!!!!
Side B: heres a stat that says he creates the 2nd most gravity to Steph
Side A: nah he can’t guard no one and sucked at the end of the year
Side B: April was actually his best month
It’s legitimately turned into facts and reason vs insanity. Warriors desperately need shooting. Getting rid of the one best shooters ever who can still shoot would be nuts.
KD has fallen off since his crazy 60% season. That really was an outlier.
Book, KD and SGA are insane. Ideally > 50% from those jumpshots is needed for these mid range merchants simply because if your go to move isn’t generating 1.00 PPP, then it ain’t worth it
This list really highlights how bad of an idea taking a mid-range jumper is. League average eFG% this season was 54.7%. Only MPJ managed to be slightly over that.
Only reason to take one is if you absolutely can’t get anything else. It’s not even useful to keep a defense honest or to open up the rest of your game, because any competent defense will just let you shoot them.
He is good, I just wish he was more consistently good and less streaky
Wonder why running post ups for big man nowadays netting around 50% fg is obsolete? Because it’s not a good shot, long jumpers are worse than that.
