  1. Since we play like a .500 team I fully expect us to win since we are 1 game below .500 right now.

  2. If Machado and Tatis don’t improve the Padres will hover around .500 all season. Manny is supposed to be the leader and Fernando the spark in the offense and neither have shown it so far in 2024.

  3. So we need today and the Waldron game to win the series
    Need spark on offense

  4. r/padrestickets more members, more visibility, so join up. Tickets available for next weekend among others. Be careful, check histories etc.

  5. Trying to estimate the rotation for next Wednesday. Hoping, I get to see Yu and there is a high possibility.

  6. If Tatis had Profar’s numbers the Hype would be next level. MVP race vs Moo/Sho, future HoF, next Mr Padre, statue talk, etc… instead crickets for JBP and a sus Tati

  7. When it was all said and done, I chalked up last season’s disastrous results in close games to “hey, that’s baseball.” Close games can be random — extra-inning games, in particular, are practically a coin flip. And the 2024 Padres are clearly better in close games than the 2023 Padres were.

That said, I’m absolutely fucking lost when it comes to the 2024 Padres’ bugaboo: hitting LHP. You mean to tell me that, overnight, basically the same core group of hitters (Tatis, Manny, Bogaerts, Jake, HSK) went from 2nd in baseball with a 123 wRC+ against LHP to… 7th *worst* in baseball with an 81 wRC+ against LHP??

The team has faced a handful of good LHP (Sale, Fried, Steele, Imanaga, Suarez), but they’re not going up against peak Kershaw every 3rd day. Just truly bizarre. There’s some new and unforeseeable bullshit with this team every single year
