  1. If I had a nickel for former coyotes who are currently head coaches with decent reputations, I’d have $0.15. Which I know isn’t a lot, but it’s a fun coincidence

  2. I may be showing my ignorance here, but did r/hockey have anything nice to say about him when he was with us?

  3. I golfed near Tempe a few weeks back and got paired with two older Canadiens. I was wearing my Yotes hat, so they mentioned they were a Canucks and an Oilers fan.

I said when I heard that Tocchet was their coach I thought “Haha! You guys are screwed! But now they are having a great year, so what the hell do I know?!?”

Anyways I am genuinely glad for him. He did lead us to our first playoff appearance in a long time, and our last one ever. Hopefully he can have some more success in the future.

  4. I think Tocchet can be a really good coach for a contending team (obviously this year is evidence of that) but wasn’t a good fit for a young, rebuilding team. Coyotes (rest in peace) and Tocchet were both better off going separate ways.

  5. I don’t think that he got off on the right foot with us and his tenure here wasn’t with a good GM. Factors both within and outside of his control didn’t help him. Good to see he’s in a much better spot now.

  6. That is excellent. Congratulations Mr. Rick Tocchet you deserve it. You’re an excellent coach and you have a great team and the best of luck to you and the Vancouver Canucks.😃
