CALGARY FLAMES WANT ARBER XHEKAJ: TRADE FOR 9TH OVERALL PICK? Montreal Canadiens Rumours

CALGARY FLAMES WANT ARBER XHEKAJ: TRADE FOR 9TH OVERALL PICK? Montreal Canadiens Rumours

[Music] mhm yeah that’s exactly what we’re doing we are going out there and once again reviewing some of these David panota articles because when it comes to the Montreal Canadians there are a bunch of things to talk about now last time we had talked about this particular player Arbor jacai it was in response to one of these panota articles but in his most recent piece and that’s Pena’s recent piece not Arbor jaai he doesn’t really write articles as far as I’m concerned but from David Pena’s latest article Centerville a topic for La Canadians there is a conversation brought up about Arbor Jai that I wanted to bring up here in this video now you might be familiar with the article because it does go out there and talk about the idea of Montreal maybe trading away number five we had already made a video about that a few days ago if you wanted to see that but what I also wanted to refer to from this article was a different idea in regards to defenseman arbaj shakai as well as some of the ensuing conversations that have popped up in separate articles now I’m getting convoluted here let’s just dive into it so article Linked In the description the fourth period.com if you go over to what panota writes about the Montreal Canadian brute force of a defenseman he goes out there and says this for the Montreal Canadians we know that Arbor Jai is pretty much off the table as I reported last week teams have continued to ask about him including the Calgary Flames but Kent Hughes isn’t interested in moving him I’m sure he’ll change his mind if someone is willing to really overpay but for now Arbor Jai is a part of Montreal’s plans moving forward now that update is not new right teams are asking about Arbor xaki and Kent Hughes is saying no teams want this guy they’re calling him up but no the Habs have plans with this player long term that is not new but the idea that the Calgary Flames which are labeled right here as a potential Suitor are still asking about him indicates a very interesting Direction this conversation can go down because when you talk about the Calgary Flames and their defense core they’ve been in a pretty tough spot because this past season they traded away everybody and by everybody I mean half the decor Nikita zadorov Gone Chris tanv gone Noah hanifen gone they’ve acquired a lot of younger defensemen in these trades and in subsequent moves they picked up some guys off of waivers they got some younger defensemen in return with guys like Yoni Yermo Hunter brevich Joel Hanley Miram manov Braden pasal all heading over to the Calgary Flames defense Corps they’re trying something here they’re just testing the waters filling it out with extra dudes and seeing what sticks and what doesn’t so for the Calgary Flames to potentially be involved in more trade discussions for other defenseman it doesn’t surprise me like okay great they’re trying to get younger on their blue line they want to get some physical presence in there Arbor Jacy provides both especially for a Flames team that did lose out on a lot of that sandpaper with a guy like Nikita Zadora for example departing the team you can understand why there would be some sort of a need to replace that so with this idea in mind of the Calgary Flames being interested in Arbor Jai let’s head over to donle kiss.com where a recent published by Charles Alexi Breo goes out there and talks about this Flames idea arbori Flames among interested teams now this article is actually French but I translated it to English via the Google machine so I will leave a link in the description if you want to go ahead and read this yourself the article goes out there and says without being Untouchable a team that wants Arbor Jai is better off getting up early we’ll tell you that there would be no point in trading him for a regular pick just for fun on this subject we often hear the teams are calling but we still wonder who is calling the article then says that David Pena brought up Calgary as a potential destination or not a destination but just one of the teams that is indeed calling about Arbor Jai so what is it that Don Le kulis goes out there and writes I don’t know what the Calgary Flames could offer the Montreal Canadians to convince him to accept a trade actually no I do know their first round pick ninth overall at the next NHL draft should be a starting point although that probably won’t happen if Alexander Romanov went for a 13th overall pick Arbor Jaca is surely worth a top 10 pick in the GM’s eyes no and this idea is very interesting because if you wanted to compare Alexander Romanov and the trade situation which sent him over to the New York Islanders in exchange for the first round pick that was inevitably traded over to Chicago to become Kirby DOC for Montreal Alex Romanov was in a pretty similar spot you could say to Arbor Jai when Romanov was traded because if you take a look at his overall profile he was a later round pick second round 38th overall in the 2018 draft now Arbor jaai was not drafted period he was an undrafted asset so you could say that that kind of adds more value to Jacy himself but if you scroll down to the comparison tool here on Elite prospects and you compare Alex Romanov and Arbor jacai you’ll see that in Alex Ander romanov’s last season as a Montreal Canadian he was 21 years old he had 13 points in 79 games played Arbor jacai when he was 21 years old had 13 points in 51 games so the same points in way fewer games Arbor Jai was technically better they were both minus NES but Arbor Jai had double the penalty minutes mostly because you know he’s a pretty big Menace out there in the ice and then if you compare things out to this year at age 22 Alexander ranov had 22 points in 76 games when he was 22 years old Arbor Jai just wrapped up a year with 10 points in 44 NHL games so realistically you could say that Arbor jacai is on a more positive trajectory than Alexander ranov is and when Romanov was traded for the 13th overall pick he actually was already inferior to what Jacki is now does that not make sense if you wanted to say that Romanov for the 13th overall pick from the Islanders was a good trade then would it not be easier to say okay the guy who was better than Romanov who outproduced Romanov at the same age while playing a physical style as well would that guy not be worth just a tad more ninth overall is indeed where the Calgary Flames are drafting this year and if you wanted to say that this trade idea would receive some push back oh yeah 110% all the Calgary Flames fans that I know we talking about the possibility of drafting TJ ginla with that ninth overall pick and if it’s not TJ ginla it’s going to be somebody else somebody to add a scoring touch to this forward core long term but I pose that question out to you tjla was recently ranked as high up as number five in some of the other mock drafts that we’ve been seeing come out recently if he is not available at the Calgary Flames ninth overall selection at the draft would it not make sense for them to trade that pick away when Alex ranov was traded to to New York that was also a trade that waited a little bit we didn’t see the pick get made 13th overall until that big three-way Fiasco trade was completed between Montreal Chicago and New York it technically wasn’t a three- team trade but it kind of was and we were kind of left wondering okay like what’s happening here because on the clock was on our TV screen for so long while that pick was pending we just didn’t see it get made for twice the amount of time these picks normally take to be made so when there was a trade announce it’s like okay great that’s what happened now we have to wait on the clock one more time but still we got some drama here Alex Romanov is heading over to New York so for Arbor Jai even though there are plans to keep him around the Montreal Canadians still also have plans to move some defensemen too if you say okay you’re overpaying for Arbor Jai great now we don’t have to make a trade with a Justin Baron or a kovich or a Jordan Harris or somebody else like we could just keep some of these guys sure we might be trading away guys that are a bit better than the players we are keeping but if the price is that good if it is ninth overall if we’re getting another top prospect then maybe it works and maybe just maybe the Canadians pull off yet another Kirby do kind of trade they trade jacai for the ninth overall pick and then they trade the ninth overall pick for I don’t know Marty hes or somebody they trade it away to some other team that’s got some younger Superstars that kind of need to change a scenery maybe a Marco Rossi maybe a Cole perfetti maybe a Ken Johnson that seems like a really good way to manage your assets because it’s like okay Arbor Jacy was a free agent pickup you used nothing to get him no draft pick no trade no whatever you just signed him out of thin air and now he’s good enough to maybe trade away for a top 10 pick if you’re really lucky and if Calgary really wants to do that so let me know your thoughts in the comment section below if you’re a Montreal Canadians fan what are your opinions about the idea of Arbor Jacy getting traded to Calgary for something in the ninth overall pick range and change maybe if you’re a Calgary Flames fan what are your thoughts in your team being interested in armor Jai and do you trade away that ninth overall pick to get this done let’s just say if tjla is not on the board Alexander Romanov went for 13th the other year Jacky attad better so what are your opinions about this entire trade let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this r99 and bye [Music] [Music]
