Raptors Among FAVORITES to Land Josh Giddey in Trade…

the Trona Raptors are among favorites to land Josh giddy in a potential trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder this off season now the odds aren’t crazy high but I’ve made a video on how I believe Josh giddy is a major byy low candidate and it seems like there’s a realistic possibility he’s getting dealt this off season as basically news has come out from Evan sidity that the Thunder are widely expected to shop Josh Giddy and Trey talks this off season who has now become extension eligible and OKC will likely attempt to trade giddy alongside some their 13 future first round picks to secure an impact player who is a cleaner rotation fit because again there’s no if sser buts about it Josh giddy struggled he was not good for the Oklahoma City Thunder especially in the second round of the postseason this year for their squad but he is still a guy that’s just 21 years old has a lot of potential has a lot of promise and dealt with a ton of turmoil this season so we’re going to break down the odds as potential fit with the Toronto Raptors and why can make sense in a potential deal cuz the Raptors do have some assets that would make sense for the Oklahoma City Thunder moving forward but what are the odds what are the probabilities how are we among the favorites now the overall percentages aren’t great and there’s a few teams listed in this so it’s by no means a guarantee the Raptors are you know Front Runners toen but we are among the teams that could potentially get him as essentially the odds have been revealed revealing that the Toronto Raptors currently have 16 to1 odds to land Josh giddy if he’s trade away from the Oklahoma City Thunder obviously behind a ton of teams there you can see it the Utah Jazz the Wizards the Sixers the Spurs the Suns the Cavs and the Hawks so you know not a guarantee by any stretch of the imagination but if we make this something a bit more readable in terms of people that aren’t in sports booking head space as I am essentially what this implied probability is that there’s a 6% chance that Josh kidy STD it he’s going to go to the Toronto Raptors which is not nothing it’s not a guaranteed sort of write off of there’s no world this happens and we’ see Messiah jery deals make moves that would be in a similar vein to this potential Josh giddy trade and he’s a guy that I know it’s certainly debatable I know Raptor fans kind of back and forth in terms of what their opinions on him previous videos I’ve made but he’s a guy that I think makes a ton of sense to fit alongside Scotty Burns and this young Toronto Raptors group because if we’re looking at his stats and what he’s able to provide he’s a really really solid young Prospect even in a Down Season with a ton of turmoil he averaged 12 points per game this year six rebounds five assist shot 47% from the field and for everyone calling him a horrific three-point shooter shot 34% from behind the three-point line again made 37% of his Corner threes you know got him assist upon and all that sort of stuff 30% of his shots were from behind the arc so he’s by no means a complete trash three-point shooter a lot of his shots are a little bit open because that’s a strategy you have to sort of give up to them some things when you’re you know playing a team that has sh AIS Alexander but he’s 6’8 he’s only 21 years old and the season prior before he dealt with a ton of off the court stuff that he was messing with uh you know during the course of the Season he was a lot better averag about 17 points per game seven rebound seven assists that rough stat line and just looked like a guy that was a rising star in an upand cominging Oklahoma City Thunder team but why are people saying oh Ben you know why would he be out there on the trade market if he’s that good of a young Prospect if he has that potential he’s also a great passer high IQ basketball player why would he be out there on the trade market for a young team like the Oklahoma City Thunder if uh he was that great of a player well the reality of it he was really bad in the playoffs particularly in the second round to the point where he was put to the bench for this team as essentially his stats were not great essentially in the two rounds of the postseason again first round wasn’t too bad average 13 points per game five rebounds three assists against the New Orleans Pelicans but against the Dallas Mavericks was really not good 12 minutes per game that’s how much his minutes ended up getting regressed half over half you know for uh for his there average six points per game three rebounds and 1.3 assists and you can see the percentages shot 18% from behind the three-point line still 43% from the field but they were completely laying off him they were just letting him shoot from out there behind the three-point line and that’s just not a great look and not good for an Oklahoma City Thunder team that yes they’re young yes they have all the time in the world to develop but OKC themselves know that these timelines these young core groups that are in these Championship contention Windows they can flee quickly and uh basically they trade away James Harden previously and that short their window and things like that and basically they don’t want to have a young star around Josh around Jay gildas Alexander Chad hongren all of their first round picks that isn’t going to be able to execute down during the playoffs so even with how bright how wide their window might be looking they might view Josh Giddy and say hey we don’t think this guy is going to potentially develop we don’t think he’s going to become that guy so we don’t want to waste years and particularly because he is extension eligible this off season mean the Oklahoma City Thunder will have to pay him big money in order to keep him around I assuming big money someone’s going to pay him a solid contract extension out there on the open market and they might not want to tie up that type of capital into a dude that you know struggle in the postseason when you have giddy or sorry when you have giddy sorry you have Shay gildas Alexander you have Chad you also have Jaylen Williams three guys that are certainly going to command a ton of dollars in the future if you’re going to be giving that sort of fourth big contract on your team l already under significant contract you want to ensure that they are a piece that’s going to be a long-term fit and can execute in the biggest moment so if that’s a risk OKC might not be willing to take maybe the Toronto Raptors are a squad and Oklahoma City Thunder it was clear for anyone that watched that team the offseason they could not execute because uh you know interior defense that well because they were very thin on the front line and that’s where the Raptors as a potential trade partner comes into play because we have a center that uh could be a good fit for the Oklahoma City Thunder and that’s yaka purle who averaged 11 points per game nine rebounds three assists 1.5 blocks per night is a really solid Defender is only 28 years old himself so is not completely out of OKC’s sort of timeline in terms of players that they have over there you know he’s a good role man he has a solid value over replacement player close to one I mean yaka Perle is just a solid just consistent starting center out there in the NBA and the big question the big issue with the yaka purle is can you play him down the stretch of game because he can’t really shoot threes he’s not that sort of guy that you can really rely upon in terms of knocking down clutch free throws but they can close games with Chad homr playing the five but they need someone to bruise it up they need someone to beat it down low for the course of you know 82 games over a regular season so Chad hren isn’t risking injury isn’t having a bang with all the emids the yices of the world in the NBA and risk sort of a plane injury Chad hr’s better act as a helps side Defender to block a ton of shots on the weak side be mobile move around the uses length and wingspan and Mobility to be a really effective Defender rather than just sort of bruising it down low with the big men in the paint so yaka Pearl makes sense as a fit for the Oklahoma City Thunder MoneyWise would make things a little bit weird in terms of how they work out but frankly everything I said about Josh giddy I think personally he is just a great byow candidate and if you weren’t following it Josh giddy had a lot of turmoil to deal with off the court this off this season you’ve probably seen the memes I brought them up in the last video the Drake and Josh memes he had an inappropriate relationship with a younger person that he met at an 18 plus club which is just a tough situation no actual repercussions were thrown on it but the court of public opinion A lot of people have enough people to make a bunch of memes about it have turned on Josh Giddy and he even spoke out about how much this affected him he said some days there were uh there were some days where I didn’t feel like getting out of my bed thankfully I’m lucky that I have people around me who care and are there for me so you know I couldn’t imagine all the stuff Jos was dealing with off the court regardless of what you feel about the situation and stuff but with a year passing from that entire situation and potentially just a new organization a fresh start for giddy I think he could get back to that star level caliber player that we sort of was sort of projected you know during his first couple Seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and him being just 21 years old fitting around the RJ Barrett Scotty Barnes Emanuel quickly timeline you know him running as like a small ball four Scotty at the small ball four Josh kidy as as a three those are four players that are really high IQ players that can facilitate can shoot in theory and can just play really strong basketball around each other now the defense is a question mark the shooting development is a question mark with Josh giddy but frankly I’m a guy that’s a Believer if we just had to give up yaka Pearl and not too many other assets that is a wor risk certainly worth taking for the Toronto Raptors but let me know what you guys think about a potential Josh giddy trade in the comment section down below again the probability isn’t crazy high but I still like this as a potential acquisition for the toron Raptor you guys the best F this far subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already I’m signing out cheers
