  1. Painful to watch 210+ games of “almost good” in a row

Been since October 2018 that the Cubs were playing in a postseason game after completing a 162 game season

  2. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baseball team go so collectively cold on offense. This is a brutal stretch wtf how can nobody hit right now?

  3. Don’t look now, but Seiya, Happ, and Swanson starting to get going. Some hard hit balls last few games for each of them. Only a matter of time before they spark something

  4. Just as the pitching staff is rounding into form, the bats go ice cold. Needless to say, you can’t win when you score zero runs.

  5. Brown looks really good right now. Unfortunately our hitters look cooked.

  6. How many flyouts and popouts is it going to take for these numbnuts to realize that swinging for the fences every time might not be the best approach?

  7. We got some guys back and nothings changed on the offensive side. It’s time to get some shit done Jed. We are a 3rd of the way through the season and already cratering. Release Madrigal and Mastro add Bote and BJ Murray or Caissie. Sign Brandon Belt. Bro who cares just do something already Counsell can’t make the hitters hit.

  8. It’s been a tough stretch. Embarrassing the Cardinals this weekend in the Loo might be exactly what the Cubs need to get going again.

  9. This is literally the same offense as last year where a bunch of guys performed much higher than expectations and we thought they would somehow be better? They can’t even REPEAT the offense they put up last year, let alone be better.

Don’t let the early season record between this year and last year fool you. Last year at this point they lost a lot of 1 run games, this year they’re about .500. Had that been the case last year, they’d probably be around where they are now.

This team is not better than 2023. They’re barely as good. We just got fooled into thinking bringing back Bellinger and replacing Stroman with Imanaga was somehow “adding”.

Jed and co did little to nothing to improve the team and expected a better result. Unless they sell the farm at the deadline (which obviously they shouldn’t), it’s going to be another 80-83 win team.

    Another punt for Jed.

  10. Glad I was too busy working to follow along with much of this one. Yet another stinker smh

  11. The last HR this team hit was on May 17th let that sink in. I am going to have to skip the Cards series. A red hot Cards team against this lowly offense no thanks

  12. We have a black hole at a position where most teams have a power bat. The black hole’s name is Ian Happ.

  13. Fuck baseball season…..I’m ready to have my heart ripped out of my chest during football season….LOL

  14. Imagine PCA, Alexander Canario, Owen Caissie, Kevin Alcántara, and Brennen Davis watching Ian Happ right now

  15. This road trip against the Cardinals and Brewers could be rough if they don’t get their shit together immediately.

  16. You HAVE to shake it up. Sorry, I get it I know offense is down around the league, I know the kids aren’t ready but this can’t continue. Seriously.

  17. When the bullpen was bad, the hitting was good. Now the bullpen is good and the hitting is bad.

  18. Where are the folks that were saying they were optimistic the offense was showing “signs” the last few games when it has looked beyond incompetent?

Even in the 1 win this series the offense produced 1 run that game by themselves.

  19. Not even mad that Hendricks let up two runs. If you can’t produce offense what does it even matter

  20. The problem with the Cubs is they have a lot of average to above average hitters. They don’t have a superstar in the middle of the lineup to put it all together. The team has desperately needed that big bat who can get you 40+ homers and consistently rake. The guy they pitch around and other hitters see better pitches because of.

There’s been a number of these guys available in free agency and they’ve gone the cheap route. They got the slightly above average team they wanted. The Cubs are more than content to hover around the fringes of the playoffs. Just good enough to keep fans coming to the park but too cheap to build a legitimate contender.
