Pretending to be injured to troll the fans at Camden Yards

well hey everyone Zach hle here at Canin yards and this place has been open for uh 24 minutes just arriving now uh drove down from New York today hit some crazy traffic so a little bit stressed about that but the weather’s crappy I heard there’s no batting practice um but at least we’re not waiting around doing nothing so let’s head right on inside oh look at this we have a Mr Splash bobble head what’s up well as expected there’s not really been any action to this point of the day I’ve still only been inside the stadium for about 20 minutes but this place is so beautiful it’s just nice to wander around check out the sites say hello to various people and watch the ground crew do their thing so I’m just kicking it now here on the third base side we’ll see what develops over here I might wander out to the bullpens closer to game time and for the game itself you know where I’ll be I’m not even going to say it because you should know [Applause] well this just happened and you guys I always love to get every baseball on video that I snag but in this case there was member with the Dbacks who actually did not want to be in the video but he knows me and he just handed this ball to me so it’s a nice new one so I’m officially on the board and uh I guess I’ll maybe wander out and see the O’s now Ben carart oh no thank you thank you burrito ball he said no ball you using it what what is thater don’t give it don’t give it to them they dropped it I can catch it please Chas it who’s going to get it [Music] orio’s Bullpen being generous as usual throwing a whole bunch of balls over the Dbacks Bullpen yanir Canó was really the one who was hooking everybody up and I snagged one so that was cool and then I nearly fumbled it and dropped it but thankfully I didn’t completely lose the handle handed that one to a young fan and then a few moments later there was a picture on the Dbacks who trolled everything body he pretended like he was going to toss one and then said his arm hurt so this just always nice to see the player interactions and for right now well I think the Orioles are about to take the field so I’m going to take my spot over there on the flag Port let’s go [Applause] five up and three down for the Dbacks in the top of the first they got a couple of singles and then Randall gritch flyed out to left to end that half inning and look at the shirt look at the shirt so uh actually Gunner made it out to start the bottom of the first we have adley up at bat now so let’s see it Universe believe I [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Colton cower to the warning track right there that would have been a home run before they destroyed left field here [Applause] we are in the top of the fourth inning and the Orioles run top 2 to one and that one for the Diamondbacks was a solo Homer by catel Martin say a switch hitter batting righty who went Oppo to the seats to the side of the flag court so on the flag court itself there’s been no action but there’s still plenty of game [Music] remaining you don’t know who this is oh my God it’s the YouTuber himself you don’t know who he is you don’t know me I’m offended just kidding no no genuinely no what’s your name what’s I’m Zach you his first home run in the Home Run playoffs this is my spokesman right here I don’t know if you’re Zack cample I don’t know this is 2021 I don’t know who Zach hle is I’m sorry that was Co age I’m sorry Goos let’s go baby Goos you Tex who you texting say hi to your dad all right she said her dad watches my videos sure sure don’t lie I know you watch them [Music] thank you yeah of course yeah for sure so this is how my nights go and I’m out here on the flag Court lots of shmooing and unfortunately of late not much catching but it’s always a good time top six oz are up three to one and that’s all no my VMO D I need [Applause] myo and in my memory [Music] [Applause] I normally the stadium liks flash when the closer is entering the game and in a way that just happened but it’s only the seventh inning Craig Kimbrell making an appearance with the Orioles holding a 3 to2 lead so that’s interesting he really has not pitched well lately so I guess they’re trying to boost his confidence a bit and have him pitch in more of a low leverage situation so proud is cheering oh he just he just struck out a batter so yeah he’s gotten too quick out it’s good for him the first only [Applause] [Applause] oh my God [Applause] [Music] [Applause] run oh [Music] [Applause] boy the person that Kimbrell lost his job to is yanir Canó and when Canó entered the game in the top of the ninth my videographer moved up to the seats behind the foul pole just you know to get a different perspective on things now the Orioles at this point had a two-run lead and things looked a little bit dicey when Gabriel Moreno spanked a ground ball just inside the bag and down the right field line which he lagged out for a leadoff double but Canó followed that by getting two quick outs and with everybody here at the stadium rising to their feet hoping to see this thing wrap up catel Marte smoked a line drive off Cano’s foot and you can almost kind of see right here that he recovered to grab that ball and make the throw over to first base to end this thing and this was a big win for the Orioles they scored a couple of runs in the second inning and never gave up the lead Cole Irvin allowed two runs in five and 2/3 Innings to pick up the win and Brandon fought suffered the loss despite having a quality start and you know unfortunately all that good pitching made this a lousy night for me to be chasing home runs Marte hit the game’s only long ball and lordis gel Jr was the only player on either team with more than one hit final score here tonight at Camden Yards Orioles four for Dbacks 2 and as for me well I am just outside the Utah Street gate to wrap this thing up for you I got two baseballs it was a low numbers day but I’ll take it two is better than zero and that brings my lifetime total to 12518 you got that Baltimore yeah so that’s it for tonight but I will be back tomorrow probably out on the flag court again and I hope the weather’s nicer and I hope there’s batting practice so you can look forward to that video and thank you guys for watching this one bye bye

This player on the Arizona Diamondbacks had fun messing with Orioles fans — and then his team got beat. Serves him right! (But actually it was pretty funny.)

And meanwhile, there are ass-slaps, and then there are ASS-SLAPS, and if you watch this video all the way through, you’ll see poor “Ron” being on the receiving end of the latter. This might in fact be the most powerful ass-slap in the history of Major League Baseball. Think about how teammates congratulate each other after big moments; high-fives are often exchanged with gusto, but when (presumably) heterosexual men are moved to touch each other’s buttocks, it’s usually done as a subdued formality. But here on the Flag Court in Baltimore, this was a premeditated and — dare I say! — violent and non-consensual ass-slap perpetrated against the unsuspecting Ron. And yet our subject seemed okay with it, perhaps too distracted by the adrenaline of having snagged a game-used baseball to fully notice what had just transpired. Or maybe Ron was fully aware but didn’t want to give any attention (positive or negative) to his “friendly” attacker. It’s a compelling case study in the behavior of young adult inebriated males, and I must admit that I was glad to witness it. What’s YOUR interpretation of this most peculiar and entertaining situation?

Aside from the “Ron” incident and other drunken hijinks, there was an interleague MLB game being played between the Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks. I arrived late at the stadium, and there was no batting practice because of crappy weather, so I faced quite a challenge from a ballhawking perspective, but hey, Camden Yards is incredible. That’s all there is to it.

  1. I had home run seats on Monday night May 20th at Dodger Stadium and I got stuck behind a multi-car accident and was 15 minutes late to BP. Fortunately, I got 2 baseballs. One a tossup that was dropped by fans in the bleachers onto the home run deck and another one was a tossup that I caught on the fly and several fans in the bleachers were trying to go for it too. I am sitting at 98 lifetime.

  2. Yay you uploaded on my birthday for the first time since 2019! Good timing with the upload too, going out with the fam for dinner to celebrate and leaving in about an hour.

  3. Awesome vid Zack! Between the description and the actual moment itself, I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in a while, and I’ve been in need of some good laughs recently so that’s much appreciated. And hey, the day may have been tough ball hawking wise, but the beauty of Camden (minus the left field wall) and that funny moment could make up for it!

  4. The Pirates are terrible went to see Paul Skenes pitch yesterday 6 innings 3 strikeouts 1 earn run no decision and they blew a 6-2 lead to lose 7-6 to the Giants

  5. The intro gave me the old Zack Hample videos feel (kinda nice). Brings back mems… the early days of your YouTube channel when you had some intros when you were doing walk and talk intros in some vids before you started taking YouTube seriously.
