[IMac] Talked to Canucks AGM Ryan Johnson. He said there was “never a bad conversation” with Jeremy Colliton. After 2 excellent AHL seasons in Abby, Colliton has good chance to return to NHL. But Canucks couldn’t risk waiting longer and possibly miss out on Manny Molhotra.

  1. Hope to see Colliton in the NHL again. Granted it didn’t work out in Chicago, but I’ll take him over Quenneville any day of the week.

  2. How refreshing to have management that gets ahead of their resourcing instead of sitting around until the 11th hours. It makes so much sense now that it’s public info. They actually have succession planning and when there’s an opportunity to move ahead with it they did. The farm team is good for another 3-4yrs instead of scrambling to find a new coach in the bargains bin like how we usually do it.

  3. Malholtra has left a great impression in Vancouver since joining the organization in 2010. This was one of Gillis’ best signings as it took Kesler away from the full-time match-up role to become a 41 goal 2-way monster. And off the ice, he’s close with the BC community. It helps that his brother-in-law is local boy Steve Nash, so he probably visits Vancouver annually even when he was in Toronto.

Glad to have him back! I think in a few years, he’ll be knocking on someone’s door to be a head coach. Hopefully we make the most of his tenure here.

  4. Manny was almost like another coach according to the 2011 team. I imagine he has a long future ahead in coaching

  5. So we’re gonna hire Manny to be head coach in two years when Tocc under performs?

  6. I was sad when Manny left for the Leafs but super happy to see him back home here!

Iirc he wanted more responsibilities and a better position (assistant coaching) as opposed to a development coach during his last tenure here but Benning regime said no.

    Leafs PP suceeeded under Manny
