Canucks fans should be EXTREMELY excited about this…

all right so with the Vancouver Canucks now officially in the off season it’s going to come with a lot of news and speculation in regards to what people think the lineup is going to look like at the start of next season and well let me tell you this the Canucks haven’t even been out of the playoffs for even a week and already they are linked to one of the biggest rfas on the market a player that likely isn’t going to resign with this current Club the Carolina Hurricanes he goes by the name of Martin NIS and now if if you are a Canucks fan that doesn’t know who this player is let me cue you in with the rest of us Martin NES was drafted 12th overall in the 2017 NHL draft the same draft as Alias Pon he’s a versatile forward that is listed here as a center but for the most part he plays on the wings he’s a proven top six forward which is exactly what the Vancouver Canucks need if you look at his stats here very consistent hasn’t even entered his prime yet only 25 years old and it looks like on any given year he could net you about 50 points at least but the best part about it is we don’t even know what this guy’s ceiling is yet last year he really broke out with over 70 points as he was the top Point producer on a very talented Carolina Hurricanes roster beating out the likes of players such as Sebastian AO and Andre snov so now you’ve heard all this good stuff about Martin NIS and now you’re probably wondering to yourself if this guy’s so good then why aren’t the Carolina Hurricanes resigning him and well there are a couple reasons for that first of all the Hurricanes are in a massive cap crunch I’m pretty certain that they’re the team in the NHL with the most free agents that need to be resigned and a ton of players on that roster are ready to get raises from their current contracts one of the most notable players on that list is newly acquired Jake gensel and I think it’s pretty safe to say that the hurricanes are going to prioritize gensel over Martin NIS firstly he’s probably just a better player in general and secondly with the amount that they gave up for him at the trade deadline along with his insane production he fit perfectly there on that line with AO and sikov they’re not going to want to lose him for nothing because he is also a UFA remember nus is an RFA so if they lose him they will be getting something back for him in return because he’s restricted so with genso likely taking up the money that would have been spent on nus it means that nus is the odd man out and they’re probably going to trade him another thing is Nas’s father actually complained because he was upset that Martin nus his son was not getting Topline minutes on the Carolina Hurricanes roster that’s just another side note probably something else that’s contributing to the fact that Martin NES will be leaving the Hurricanes this off season it leads us now to the Vancouver Canucks the Canucks this year have been in need of fast skilled Wingers that can put the puck inside the net and now as bad as leas pson was down the stretch and in the playoffs when you’re pairing him up with Sam lafy and Elia Mev what can you really expect if you placed a healthy Alias peton on the same line as Martin nus a great play driver that can put the puck in the net it seems like a no-brainer but the next question that arises is well how are the Canucks going to acquire him and what do they need to give up I’ve heard some talks about the Vancouver Canucks being interested in yber coau KMI as part of a package with Martin nus and to that I say no because first of all KMI is making $4.9 million I know he was progressing in the right direction last year but when you look at this season he wasn’t even able to scrape 30 points and I understand he is still a young player not even 24 years old yet but I just don’t know if I’m willing to roll the dice on him and just with the amount of cap that he would be taking up I mean him and mckv just those two and in an ideal world they’re playing on your third or fourth lines they’re taking up almost $10 million so I don’t know but if we’re talking only about Martin NES here I’ve heard a lot of very interest in proposals involving our RFA Philip ponic and now you’re probably wondering why would the Hurricanes be interested in Philip ponic well I’ll remind you that a ton of players on this Hurricane’s roster are going to be testing the free agent market and if you look at their current defensive core Brady Shay Brett pesy Jaylen Chatfield Tony D’Angelo all becoming ufas this off season and there is no guarantee that any of them are going to stay so why not go out there and get yourself an RFA in Philip pronic who fits in your timeline keeps you competitive and is a good proven two-way Defender obviously there’s no guarantee that the canes are going to want Philip ronic but if you look at their situation it kind of makes sense and to be honest with you if we’re talking about a fair trade here Philip pronic for Martin NES is a fair trade so we’ll see how it unfolds as the summer progresses there are a ton of moving parts to it and a ton of other free agents that I want to talk about who I feel could be potentially good fits with the Vancouver Canucks but those will be saved for future videos let me know your thoughts on this one thank you so much for watching make sure you like comment subscribe if you’re new and yeah man peace out and take care

The Vancouver Canucks have been tied to Carolina Hurricanes Martin Necas in a potential NHL trade also involving Filip Hronek. Elias Pettersson would thrive with a guy like Necas on his wing, I think it would really benefit the Canucks, could we see this happen soon?

  1. "proven top 6" "stats consistent" I think we have very different meanings for those phrases. "Can put the puck in the net".. Really? Not based on his hockey db.. in 6 seasons he has got over 20 goals twice… and over 25 once. He is a third line winger that isn't a priority for the team that knows him best.. THAT IS NOT A FAIR TRADE for a young top pair RHD.

  2. Necas and Hronek used to play together in Czech team and as you said Necas does not want to re-sign for lack of minutes and role in special teams. Necas said in the podcast he would love to play for Leafs or Rangers. Don't make a video for the sake of making videos, do some prep work

  3. Yes trade hronek and lindholm or whoever for necas and kotkaniemi. Trade mikheyev for nothing drop poolman sign zadorov and joshua. Sign myers for cheap team friendly. Trade desmith

  4. If the Canucks are wheeling and dealing for Nacas and KK, Hronek and maybe Makeyev going for half cap retained, would still leave the Canucks in a better place cap-wise, while bringing in a young middle 6 forward that, while he's coming off a bad season, he's still young enough that he can turn it around and maybe the coaching of the staff Tocchett has build up around him, they could get KK settling into a system and working his way back up the lineup again. Either as a keeper, or a project to build up for a trade down the road, depending on now things work out. If I had a choice between a young KK's contract and an aging Makeyev's contract for an over priced middle 6 player, I'd go with the guy who's got upward potential, then the guy who's only going to get worse over time. Even if we had to give up one of our spare part d-men in addition to Hronek or a prospect to get the Cains willing to take on half a Makeyev contract for them to get a speedy winger who's an excellent checker who can keep up with other team's star players and help keep them off the board.

  5. I don't know that I would go so far as to say Necas is a proven top 6 player, I'd say at this point he's more of a middle 6 player with some potential to be a top 6 player.

  6. Mikheyev, Garland and Kotkaniemi are all making 4.75-5mil. We flatly can't run a $15mil 3rd line. I am questioning if we can even squeeze in Necas. If we need to move Hronek for Necas that leaves a massive hole on the right side on D. After Hronek our RDs were Myers, Juulsen, and a left handed D playing the right side. So trading for Necas and then finding potentially 2 RHD is gonna be a hard ask for how shit our own cap situation is. We gotta keep in mind OEL's buyout is gonna ramp up to 4.7mil after next season.

  7. Big fan of Necas' game and I think he'd probably pop off in the canucks lineup, but when you pulled up his previous years' stats and said "pretty consistent" I had to lol. That's probably the biggest knock on him is that he hasn't figured out how to be consistent.

  8. None of you guys understand money or people. There's no way in hell Myers takes 2 mil. He played close to 20 minutes per game this season and was a beast in the playoffs. He will get close to 3.5 mil per season, and he won't get that in Vancouver. Resign Blueger and Joshua and play them with Garland. That line was solid all year long. Blueger at 2 – 2.5 and Joshua at 3. Any more for Joshua, and you're forced to let him go. Trade Hronek to Carolina and get Necas at whatever cost. Him and Petey will haunt opponents for years to come. Dont pay anymore than 5 mil for Big Z and if he wants more, let him go. You cant just low ball everyone and expect rhem to sign. If they want to play here, they will take a discount. Allvin isnt a moron. He knows how to build a winner. Stop acting like youre better GM's than he is and let him do his job. If the canucks were run by arm chair GM's like you guys, wed be the laughing stock of the NHL.

  9. Hell, throw Hronek + Myers at them for Neccas! We have some talented defencemen in the wings who are probably ready to get some NHL time to tweak their development. Bring those guys up to loosen the salary cap grip on the team.

  10. In an even market sure Hronek vs Necas is fair. However, Hronek is a top-4 RHD. The Canucks are way worse if they swap him for Necas. Let's be real here.

  11. Kotkeinemi was in the same draft as Hughes and Necas so he's still young and could grow if given a bigger role. Besides, I'd imagine it's part of the deal to get Necas because of his contract and the Canucks won't have much of a choice.

  12. What's with the Canucks and their fans wanting soft European players like this. Sure he can put up 50-70 points, but when he's not scoring. Can he hit and be physical? NOPE. Can he win faceoffs? NOPE. Can he kill penalties? NOPE. He does none of the things that help you win playoff hockey games.

  13. Necas was absolute beast in world championship this year with a little of more ice-time he will be huge for any team in the league

  14. We definitely do not want Nacas. His minutes were down and is back end play is terrible. Another Kuzy which becomes a project and distraction .
