Kap was at #AmericanFamilyField and almost witnessed history. #BenBrown went 7 innings in this game without giving up a hit. Manager #CraigCounsell pulled him after 7 and Kap thought that was the right move. #BenBrown is a young pitcher and hasn’t been fully stretched out. And he was clearly done after the 7th. #Kap said his breaking pitches didn’t look as sharp as they were earlier in the game.
But the offense only managed a solo home run from Michael Busch early in the game. So the score was 1-0 all the way until the 9th. But #HectorNerris walked #ChristianYelich and then balked him to second base. He was able to score and tie the game up after #WillyAdames singled. So another blown save for the bullpen.
But in the 10th inning, the Cubs offense FINALLY came to life. #MikeTauchman lined a ball off the pitcher, which knocked him out of the game, but also scored the ghost runner. #CodyBellinger knocked in a run. #IanHapp and Michael Busch also knocked in runs in the inning.
Luke Little pitched the bottom of the inning and gave up 2 runs but #TysonMiller came in and closed it down.

I was actually thinking maybe the extra innings with a runner on second might jumpstart the Cubs offense. Hopefully they continue from today. Fucking Brutal 1 run in first 9 innings, bullpen literally has no margin for error

No Cubs fan should be upset to see a young promising starter come out in the 7th after Dusty destroyed Prior and Wood by overusing them. Break up that no-no any time as long as I get to see BB dominating for many seasons to come.

Offense woke up, they should put some runs up tomorrow. Let's say 4-5. That Pitching has gotta stop the other team from scoring 6-7 runs. 🤷🏻💯 If they can start to lock 🔐 teams down, then that puts energy into the offense and they will steadily score tons of runs and go on a streak. The Bullpen being bad hurts 🤕 everyone.

These are the Rebuilding, we stole their manager, Brewers. Minus 2 Aces. And our Bullpen is just not good enough. We almost gave this game up Kap. This manager should of been finding roles for guys. Ok you can give me 1 inning here, you can pitch 1st out of the bullpen Leiter Jr and that's where your best, not late. Never more than 1 inning. None of these guys have proven anything to be Pitching multiple innings. Wesneski is a Starter
That’s BS MGNT!! What’s the one thing that we actually have going for us… SP! Whats the one position that we actually have a little depth at…. SP! What’s our One Strength… SF’nP!!! Our offense BLOWS!! Outside of MLJ our bullpen has been straight As!! Our defense even sux! (Hellava play by Beli today tho!) So in a “1” point HUGE divisional game that we absolutely have to have and what does Ross 2.0 do… he takes out our SP on less than 100 pitches. Kap said his last few pitches were flat but the last pitch he actually threw, he broke off a filthy slider for a strike 3 call to end the inning. Let the kid Pitch!! He’s only 24 GD!! It’s crazy how nowadays the pros are babying players and the HS coaches are letting them be men!
