Reacting To Crazy Fan Made NHL Playoff TRADES

overreactions as sports fans I’m sure we’ve all been in this situation you’re rooting for your team in the playoffs when all of the sudden they get bounced and you’re ready to fire sale the entire roster just to feel better about yourself well that’s exactly what we’re going to be doing today I asked you guys to submit some crazy overreaction trades and you guys gave me five that I think are totally insane and we’re going to go through them today now in these trades we’re talking about big pieces that are moved on from their teams after their early or late playoff EX and one of these trades actually contains a player who’s still playing in the playoffs now if you guys have been liking the content lately and you haven’t subscribed to the channel yet make sure you do that now and let’s get right into this now I received a lot of these trades through my Instagram DMS and I’m going to make this a pretty regular Series so if you guys want to submit your proposal through cap friendly make sure you do that through my Instagram DM me and I’ll likely feature it in a video later on now this first trade we’re basically going to be talking about more than just a trade it’s the entire offseason for the Boston br Bruins really so we’ll just start by looking at the signings that this fan wants the Bruins to make so starting with the rfas it looks like they want Jeremy Swan to resign to a 6X $36 million contract Brandon booy to a three-year entry-level deal and then for the ufas they want the Bruins to sign Elias lindol to a 6-year $42 million contract Patrick Kane to a 22-year $8 million contract Brandon Montour and Tyler bruzi to a 4-year $20 million contract now let me just start by saying which of these I think are realistic and which aren’t now the swayman one you may be able to get him to a HomeTown discount but I imagine he’s looking more for like an 8×8 contract rather than that 6×6 the Brandon booy W is fine the Elias lindome won I think that’s basically what he’s going to command on the open market so I feel like that’s going to be a pretty solid contract if the Bruins got him and he would probably fit in nicely with this roster the Patrick Kane one is perfect he proved that he’s still an elite playmaker in this league and deserves the $4 million contract and 2 years isn’t so long for a veteran like him Brandon Montour I think that’s way too low I think Montour is going to be commanding around 7 to8 million this year I think he’s fantastic and will likely probably resign in Florida but you’re not going to get him for a 4×20 million contract that just won’t happen the Tyler bzi one though I think it’s a little bit of an overpay given his production from this season but I do think that that’s what he’s going to command as well so that’s not a bad signing for a top six player as well now moving on to the big trade here this is the meat and potatoes of this one this trade involves Leon Dr SLE heading to Boston in exchange for Brandon Carlo Fabian lysel lenus allmar and a 2025 first round pick now let me just start by saying this trade is incredibly one-sided and it really shows that this kid is a Bruins fan when he submitted this because you’re not going to be getting Leon dryo for a couple Playmakers and then lenus allmar really if you look at this trade and really break it down they are getting a solid top 10 goalie in the NHL which is great for Edmonton since they desperately need it and that first round pick is nice as well but Fabian lell his value has really dropped over the past couple of years and Brandon Carlo at best is a second line defenseman so in order to beef up this trade I think you’ll have to include just a little bit more maybe like a Matthew PES who showed a lot more promise and lysell already Jake the brus potentially or maybe even a guy who I don’t know like Mason low ride to swing this which I just don’t see the Bruins doing I think a lot of fans get caught up in this thing where they think more equals more value so you just throw a bunch of players that you don’t want anymore and just assume that another team will take that trade but Leon dry is a top five player in the league and he really shows up in the playoffs so if you want a player of his value you have to include players of his value who are either younger or at the level that he’s at right now so I think that this trade would not happen I think if you look at some of the secondary things included to make the cap work you would be sending Charlie Coyle to La as well as Pavo zaka to Pittsburgh just for some third round picks so I like the offseason signings I think that that’s a really realistic option for the Bruins heading into next season and I think that would push their team into a contention again but right now I just don’t see them being able to make all of those UFA signings and that trade for dryo I think this one’s a noo next we’re going to be taking a look at a trade from a fan who loves Toronto and wants them to trade one of the core four now let’s take a look at some of the free agent signings they want them to make before we go into the trade first they want them to sign Jonathan marol Tyler Johnson Max doy and TJ Brody all to around $3 to4 million deals over the course of around 3 to 5 years now I’m not against any of these signings I think Jonathan marcheso would be a great pickup for the leavs and I do think that they should resign Max doy as well as Chandler Stevenson he would be a nice addition to the team as well but the big time trade involved in this will be getting rid of two of their core four players and that would be the first trade between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Minnesota Wild where they would trade Mitch Marner in exchange for Philip guson the now who is coming off a rocky season Marco Rossy who just came off a very promising rookie year and a first round pick in 2025 the second trade involved in this would send Seth Jones to Toronto from Chicago in exchange for David camp and John tares with 3.9 million retained by Toronto now this to me I think that the Chicago one makes a lot of sense but I can’t really see them doing that and I’m not too sure if Toronto really wants to invest in a player like Seth Jones who still has a lot of time left on his contract and really hasn’t proven himself all that much now for the Mitch Marner one though I actually like this trade a lot for Toronto I think Marco Ross’s going to be a stud in this league I think Philip Guston would make a great backup goalie for you if you managed to find somebody else to fill the net with and it also gives you a little bit more time to ride with Joseph wall and I think the first round pick is a nice addition to this trade to get for Mitch Marner now you only have Mitch marter left for one more year he has that no trade clause so it’s really tough to see this happening but but I think Mitch Mar would look great on that Minnesota Wild team be him with capriso and Erikson eek and that Top Line will be deadly over for the wild you also get a nice young defenseman as well as Seth Jones to really beef up your blue line and a solid goenda of being a starter in the NHL I’m not saying that this trade would work perfectly but I do think with the UFA signings that this fan is included along with some of these trades I think this would really make Toronto a lot better than they currently are the problem is I don’t think that they’re going to be able to swing all of this I don’t think that Chicago would trade for TZ and I really don’t see Minnesota giving up on Marco Rossi so early it’s really hard to come by a solid top defenseman and I feel like Minnesota would rather invest their time in Rossy than Marner at this point this next one is a big- Time goalie trade sending UC Soros in a fourth round pick to the LA Kings in exchange for brand Clark and a first round pick along with Francesco penelli now right off the rip I think that this is a pretty fair trade and I think this is about the value you’re going to get for Soros if you’re Nashville at this point you have a goalie coming up in your system and it’s basically time for you to move on from yussi at this point and I feel like the LA Kings they could really use a top 10 goal tender and adding him to their team would make them a much bigger Contender than they were this year with Cam talbat now I think that the Kings really need to invest in a goalie and this might be the smartest move for them to make in the off season so I have no issues with this trade I thought I was going to be talking about this a little bit longer but I kind of like what this fan did they were really realistic with who they were going to acquire from the Kings and I think that they were realistic with how much the kings were willing to give up for a goendale next up we have a very very interesting trade in my opinion and again we’re not going to be talking about ufas or rfas with this one this fan didn’t submit any so we’re just going to get right into the trade so this trade would send Alex oetkin to the Pittsburgh Penguins while the capitals retained 3.4 million in exchange for Ryan Graves Riley Smith Brandon joerger and a 2024 second round pick now honestly when I take a look at this trade you would think well the Caps are never going to trade oetkin so this is really just fans talking but I do think that this might be the best situation for Alex oetkin to head to now both the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals are basically ending their Dynasty runs with Crosby and oetkin so what would be more fun for the NHL than pairing those two up for one big season where Alex oetkin breaks the Gretzky record and Crosby gets the Penguins back into the playoffs playing alongside his long time rival now I don’t think this is going to happen like I said but I do think this is a fun one I think that Washington would get a little bit more from Pittsburgh and not really retain the salary as well but I want to know what you guys think about this one cuz this one was interesting do you think that Pittsburgh would ever be able to trade for oetkin let me know in the comments final trade on this list we have one more with the Toronto Maple Leafs and I’m not sure if this fan knew that this player already resigned with their organization but regardless we’ll just assume that he did resign and that this is just basically the one for two trade now in this trade it’s between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver knucks where Elias Pon gets sent to Toronto in exchange for William neander and basically a 2024 first round pick now just taking a look at this trade I do think that this is an even trade both players are making around the same money they both are great fantastic forwards in this league and I do think that allias pson has a bit more upside given that he plays center vers Winger for nander now do I think that this trade would ever happen probably not with in this offseason and potentially next offseason as well but later down the line we could see a trade like this happen if these two players keep up the pace that they have been keeping up their entire careers and what I mean by that is that if both of these two players are playing at the same level and neither Toronto or Vancouver has won a championship with either one of these guys I could see them making a trade like this just to shake up their cores again I cannot see this happening this off season I feel like the Canucks are very very adamant that they’re going to be keeping ERS regardless of his postseason run this year but I do think that this is a trade that could eventually happen between these two fans and I don’t think that it’s that wild that in any alternate universe we couldn’t see this happen so yes I do think it’s a fair trade no I don’t think it’s going to happen and to the person who made this Elias Pon has already resigned so it’s not like Toronto is going to have to acquire him and then resign him but let me know what you guys think about all of these trades do you think any of them were realistic and what would you trade
