This is a VERY tempting option for the Canucks….

all right guys before I start today’s video I just wanted to share a quick announcement with you all I will be back on the nuad podcast for this week’s installment premiering on June 6th at 5:30 in the morning Pacific time and listen it was a very fun episode to film two Canucks fans going back and forth about the season we just had along with a ton of very interesting topics regarding this Vancouver Canucks team’s future I definitely recommend you go check it out the link to nad’s podcast along with his main channel will be in the description down below definitely be sure to check him out if you haven’t done so already and without further Ado on to today’s video so I understand you’ve seen the thumbnail you know what this video is all about and considering we’re talking about the biggest fish on this UFA Market this upcoming summer sure the chances of this actually happening might not be the most likely but let me tell you right now if there’s one thing that I’ve learned about this current management team with Patrick Alvine and Jim Rutherford is that they are not scared to be proactive to get creative and take a risk because right now if you want a guy like Reinhardt or another big fish on the market you’re going to have to do a little bit of weaving because right now the cap situation isn’t exactly the best thank you to my boy Jim Benning for screwing us the next couple of Seasons with the O contract on our books and even Garland I love the player but for $5 million you’d obviously much rather have Dylan Gunther on a league minimum that would have made this a home run but since we don’t have that luxury you got to be a little bit more Innovative because obviously we had links to Jake gensel earlier on in the season we know how Jim rord feels about him but we’ve just heard that Jake gensel is looking to play in the states so that’s not happening you also have Steven Stam Co but that guy is way too old so I wouldn’t go near him but Sam Reinhardt is a BC boy he’s from Vancouver he grew up a Canucks fan and right now the Florida Panthers the team he is currently playing on is on the brink of winning the Stanley Cup they are four wins away and I think they’re going to be the team to do it if they win Sam rinard will feel like the job in Florida has been done and it should really go without saying that if he does win in Florida he’ll feel less pressure to feel like he has to stay in Florida and if he does decide to test the free agent Market it should be obvious that Vancouver would be a team he would be very interested in joining next season especially after the season they just had so if we’re talking about interest alone it’s definitely mutual on both sides because ryanh Hart being from BC would love to play in his hometown and the Vancouver Canucks are looking for a top six Winger to play with Alias Pon and man with Miller and bester on the top line and then Pon and Reinhardt on the second line that just sounds insane already but if we step away from Dreamland for a second here let’s talk about one potential way that I feel you can free up some money to at least make this a little bit more of a possibility I think it starts with Elia MV and I really believe that with this guy’s speed you can still trade him for basically nothing and I’d be okay with that teams want speed and I could definitely see a team like the New York Islanders biting on this guy to help them in that department and they could also look at him earlier on in this season he was scoring goals I don’t know what happened he fell off a cliff but surely you look at that and you say okay maybe we can get this guy close to that level once again next season with a little bit more confidence and a fresh start so you clear basically 5 million bucks that’s big and you know I get it I know after hearing this a lot of people are still probably going to say sam Reinhardt is way out of our budget and he’s going to cost way too much but it’s important to remember that not even a week ago people were sold on the idea of acquiring Marty hes and I’m still down for that if we decide to go down that route but it’s important to note that Marty NES would probably be costing you around 7 to 7.5 million not to mention on top of Martin hes people were also saying go and get yourself another piece like a Tyler to Foley and that would cost you way more than a HomeTown Reinhard so I guess what it comes down to is which route are you trying to go down the one that has a little bit more depth or do you want to go all in with a guy like Reinhardt in your top six and then fill the other supporting roles with more expendable players I’m not saying this is anything that you know is on the radar of any Canucks Insider I just wanted to make this video because it is definitely a possibility and something worth noting with this management group’s track record we know they’re not scared to make a big splash and I know that Patrick Alvine is going to be looking to improve the roster for next season so we’ll see what he decides to do and how he Maneuvers with the cap because man without that oel deal this would be a no-brainer and Sam Reinhardt would be the number one quisition Target for this Canuck team this off season but since it’s not that simple it is a little bit more frustrating but we’ll see what happens thank you so much for watching make sure you like And subscribe if you’re new and I will see you all in the next one peace out and take care

Sam Reinhart is probably the biggest UFA in the NHL, he’s from Vancouver, could we see him come home to play in his hometown with the Canucks on July 1st? If not which others free agents could we see the Canucks target to potentially play alongside Elias Pettersson,

  1. I forsee next season is do or die (unless the cap goes up again). The oel deal is going to bite them the next 2 years after that. So i personally think next season you do have to go all in with trading mikheyev to make room for Reinhart. Sign hronek to 1 year since hes an rfa, sign zadorv, joshua and blugar all for 1 year deals and hope for the best.

  2. I wouldn't do Reinhart. He's unlikely to take a hometown discount and he's 29 years old. These are the contracts that burn you. I was concerned about the Miller contract for that reason, but it's worked out so far, one year in, 6 to go. We can talk about trading Mikheyev all we want, but this isn't NHL 24. You can't just throw in a collection of players you don't want and expect a team to give you something you want back – even cap space. This team will look very different from last season, but I'm sure there will be cheaper options than Reinhart for that 2nd line.

  3. Under the assumption that Reinhart gets to UFA, how much do you think hell be asking for? As far as Im concerned, wed have to move Pettersons contract to make space for Reinhart and something tells me that moving Petterson isnt exactly on managements radar.

  4. I think these guys mentioned are all out of the Canucks price range. Otherwise they would sign their own UFAs. But they can't, because they are pretty much capped to a maximum 6 million for those top end acquisitions. Both Zadorov and Lindholm were under that amount last season, which is way they were able to come here. But that number has not changed. They must find capable players under 6 million.

  5. i honestly would try to sign both guys like reinhart and guentzal obv gonna take lots of cap but then fill the rest of the spots with cheaper guys like dillon or hakanpa and look at some other options for bottom 6 maybe even internally maybe who known

  6. Reinhart's current Cap hit is $6.5 Million . He is coming off a career year, well above career average. He will be looking for $9 to $ 10 Million .I would be careful.

  7. This isn't as far fetched as people seem to think. Never count out the possibility that a guy would want to come home. Many players are actually counting down the days until they can do so as a UFA. As was mentioned, he'll need a big payday, but we have more than enough money free if we move on from some of the pricier guys that we have as free agents. And yes, dumping Mikheyev would be a big help also.

  8. I’ve always liked Reinhart, however I don’t think he’s what we need right now and will definitely be too expensive for us unless he signs for under 7 or 8 mil for us on a discount. I also think he’s benefited from playing in Florida. If he was still on Buffalo, his asking price as a UFA would probably be 2-3 mil less per year then it is now playing on Florida

  9. Brother. There is zero chance we pick up two top 6 forwards without gutting the back end.

That would mean no Hronek no Zadorov you’d have soucy and Myers as your second pair and Juulsen and idek Cicek? As your full time bottom pair

  10. Personally I think we don’t go for the biggest fish we pick up more mid six line 2/3 kinda guys.

Mantha is way cheaper, big as hell and can score goals.

Arvidsson is fast, can score, plays that two way style Tocchet likes.

We could get both of them for the cost of one Necas or Reinhart or Guentzal.

    Guess I’m a depth guy.

  11. Necas is an unknown experiment, but Reinhardt & Toffoli have proven experience! To build players around an expensive pylon like Petterson is a big, bad idea!
