What they’re saying: Could DeMar DeRozan sign with the Sixers?

  1. I’d take DeRozan over BI honestly. Cheaper and more willing to be a role player/make sacrifices to help the team win it all

  2. Look I don’t have any issues with Bleacher Report making stories with wild speculation on their app for content. It’s clearly marked as opinions and predictions.

What annoys me is when these random guesses get picked up on other sites and people act like these are rumors or murmurs. It’s not. It’s like one writer filling in the Sixers portion of a guessing game.

  3. Anybody reliable in the playoffs would be a big help at this point.

  4. I only see it as a stop gap if nothing good is available. If PG, Jimmy, and then solid role player options aren’t there.

I don’t love the spacing with Joel but can’t deny the Demar Joel one would be filthy. Especially with Maxey playing off ball. It would be legitimately very good.

Again I don’t love it just because I want something better, but it would not be a bad balloon payment option to buy a year or two for something better.

  5. If he was to come here on a Westbrook type deal to be a 6th man and be the guy who scores when embiid is off the court then yeah. If you’re bring in DD as a legit big minutes third option then no thanks.

  6. I would be open to signing DeRozan within a certain context – if the other wings were moderate-to-high volume 3 pt shooters.

DeRozan is a better playmaker than he’s given credit for and could be a secondary ball-handler and a primary one at times. He’s much more aggressive than Tobias outside of 3 pt shooting, which still matters because Tobias has been straight up invisible much of the time.

  7. Just imagine if we can sign all the rumoured players we’d have a super stacked team!
