And I made the news (or news adjacent). I get the view that if he can play goal, what does it matter. I don’t necessarily agree, but I get it. I just feel 2 things:
These people have some extremely abhorrent views. Beyond just the attempt to overturn the election, there are bigots, and Sandy Hook deniers. Pretty much our worst public figures.
If Reimers religious beliefs made headlines here, the Leafs are going to have a PR nightmare on their hands. Not to mention the division amongst the fans over if this is even a story or not. Let’s not forget there is a vocal section of Leaf fans that probably follow and support these exact people. Could get ugly.
Isn’t better for the a leafs to just move on to a different option. We don’t even know what we got in this guy.

I have no idea but if you are just dragging him for who he follows that is fucked up.

1. There are other goalie options other than brossoit, it would be much easier to just avoid him altogether.
2. Hockey is just a game. I’m a massive fan and have been my whole life, but it’s just a game. This kind of shit is bigger than hockey. The people he follows are monsters who spread hate and endanger the lives of many innocent people with their rhetoric and fairy tales. The leafs have a roster of pretty solid human beings by the standard of professional athletes, and I like cheering for them. I would not like cheering for that asshat, and I don’t think I’m the only one who feels that way
