Savannah ghost pirates fan that’s first time I’ve ever tried that accent there I don’t know if that was good or bad probably bad last time last time too uh Savannah ghost pirates will no longer be the golden knights and silver Knights ECHL affiliate uh this will end a two-year relationship with uh the team from Savannah an official press conference will be held on Monday in Savannah so the obvious move for vgk will be to have a partnership with the Tahoe night monsters yesterday I wore the same hat must have known something was going on okay that was a fluke but in any event uh the Lake Tahoe franchise begins its inaugural season coming up this fall how many NHL teams Chris have their complete family ECHL AHL NHL teams all in the same state I was wondering I mean do you know the answer or you just are you just no I’m just throwing that out there I was Focus I was focused on this accent thing this morning so fair enough I mean I don’t know if at one point like going back to my my Blackhawks days if the Blackhawks the the wolves and who else well no ice Hogs ice Hogs ice hog Blackhawks Rockford ice Hogs and then the at one point the Chicago hounds of all teams uh that was their ECHL team not they they they they drew they drew about as well as the Henderson silver Knights actually um not sure who that was a shot at but it was a shot at somebody um that’s the only thing I can think of with direct knowledge but I don’t even know if the Chicago hounds were part of that family or if they were with someone else or not so I don’t know uh so the team will be playing in the Tahoe Blue Event Center just one year old uh we’ve been tracking that venue we had the feeling of course this would have been The Logical Choice uh it seats 4,200 I think fans from here in Vegas when they go up North and when they visit Lake Tahoe will go and check it out um and we wondered if there would be a partnership uh the team is owned by Tim tibo the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner we might add and another partner and the team is supposed to be managed by zoer sports and entertainment now the thing that makes this uh part of this entire move and family and what have you is that it is the same Management Group as the current uh Savannah ghost pirates so they had something in the works and they worked everything out it’s still part of the same family essentially uh but they moved the team up north and there’s going to be now there are 29 teams in the ECHL some bitter rivalries already I can’t wait to see uh this team against the Idaho steel heads man um or the the Utah Grizzlies it’s gonna be big ECHL has been a thing for been really successful for a long time and don’t call it the East Coast Hockey League because it is not the East Coast Hockey League this is the one League that you need to refer to as the ECHL it’s no longer the East Coast Hockey League in ECHL for sure so let’s start there um it I mean you look at the color scheme you just go on the website right you got teal you got gold you got kns and I’m Not Gon to lie I had to um their hashtag is Tess the waters Tess with te SS so I had to Google I didn’t know Tessy was the name of the monster in Lake Tahoe so I learned something new today so that’s exciting um but I mean this this definitely a couple things here I was thinking about some I’ve been looking for this article for a while uh Joe back when he set me and you up Tony I was writing um with franchise sports media like five six years ago or something like that my first ever just Junior writing gig we we can call it that c reporter a cup reporter back in the day you were I um I did mention one day about fully completing the trilogy and possibly having a hockey team somewhere like the Reno area I think I said Reno I don’t think I said toao but I mean it same Market essentially I mean you look at the color scheme you got the teal you got the gold you got the word Knight it all makes sense right that’s not just the golden knights market up there there’s obviously San Jose isn’t too far from there so they’re trying to join all of that together and why not I mean it’s it’s definitely exciting and having it all in one state is good and this is kind of similar to the silver Knights and golden knights situation right you got to call player up it’s obviously pretty easy heck of a lot easier to get someone from uh Reno down to uh down to Vegas in a in a short notice versus Savannah to uh you know Savannah to to Henderson in short notice Tim TBO also I have to point out is a part owner of the Savannah ghost pirates as well so again I think the uh it was a mutual parting of ways there it just makes more it was all in the works is what we’re saying and this te isn’t official as of now I guess it’s official because I use the southern draw so that’s as official as we can get and Savannah did say yesterday team president uh saying that it’s been a great relationship to your run with the Vegas golden knights and the Henderson silver Knights so that’s done and where else are they going to go but here there is no affiliation currently with the Tahoe Knight monsters so it’s a done deal it’s unofficially official okay Alex low is the coach of the night monsters who is Alex low Alex low we’re learning we’re we’re learning on the fly here right now to find out about him I don’t really get a whole lot of there we go all right so I’ll look at that in a second here um one thing I was thinking about Tony this is maybe this is you rubbing off on me a little bit here why do they make the announcement first versus the golden knights making an announcement you have to wonder if there’s maybe a little bit of trouble in Paradise there no no I don’t think so it’s probably just pre-arranged uh like that Carlson marsho marriage pre-arranged U they probably this has been in the works I think for some time and they just wanted to do it the right way for the fan interest there in Savannah and then they come out on Monday with the presser and then vgk follows with the news dump at about 8 o’clock at night on Monday so I think that’s how it’s probably going to work but in any event this is a done done deal it’s over um and it makes all the sense in the world and I thought at the time that they announced this team the only other team that I thought might come in and try to steal the Thunder well steal uh the franchise I should say Las Vegas Thunder was here uh but the the only way that something else could have happened perhaps was if Seattle had jumped in there somehow and planted their ECHL uh flag there in Northern Nevada that’s the only thing other idea notion that we even had and that was a little farfetched maybe somehow Seattle San Jose and Vegas will all chop this team up or something because you got the you got the teal you got the gold and all that stuff who knows um so Alex low was actually on the coaching staff of the ghost pirates he was an assistant coach prior to the inaugural season interim head coach for the final 30 games of this past season so that definitely the writing obviously is on the wall just to move everything from point A to pointb and uh plant the flag up in uh Lake Tahoe I mean 4200 people um I don’t know what do we think do we think it’s going to I mean do we think 3,000 people a night come do we think 1500 people a night come do we think 900 people come on the weekdays and 2,000 on the weekends like I admittedly I’ve been to Reno a bunch of time sloppy good time never made the trk up the up the mountain to area I know I’ve heard close to know I was never there to make good decisions um but can they draw enough people that are gonna a want to is there enough people in Lake Taho question number one question number two is there enough people down in Reno willing to make that was it 45 minutes or so to get up to Lake Tahoe and back or something like that yeah no it’s it’s very close it’s a beautiful area unbelievable um and the one thing that vgk did not do Chris was they didn’t cross-promote a ton with a savannah ghost pirates and now it could be endless where they do cross promotions U of course if they do oh that stinking Caravan is that going to happen again they’ve been setting this up for they’ve been doing that Caravan for at least five years Tony so they they’ve been they’ve been up for this moment but now they go to Tahoe not just downtown Reno they yeah of course it’ll go through there now and then they could have other cross promotions the team could come here uh for some sort of training camp or something uh they could do a ton of cross promoting for this franchise and they missed the Mark I felt with the Savannah ghost pirates yeah I mean I don’t know I mean I don’t know how much interest there is from Vegas I mean I don’t know how many people decide I know a few people that have made trips down there but I don’t know if they would have given free trips to Savannah and contest and who would have uh jumped at that opportunity just looking to see like the closest teams in the area I mean the the the night monsters are going to be the farest West Coast team no teams in California or Washington that kind of surprised me I don’t know uh you got a team in Idaho came read what the heck they’re called the steel heads the steel heads I told you earlier Idaho steel heads okay you got the Grizzlies looks like over over in Utah as well so I mean the Comets are still there Michigan Kwings wow this is a this is a walk down memory lane here right now this is fun yeah this will be the third ECHL franchise right for vgk they did start with Fort Wayne Right for the ECHL and then Savannah and then here Fort Wayne Comets comets yeah the Comets back in the day you’re right that is correct and I think if I’m not mistaken I thought either won or played for the ECHL Championship like right around when the gold first started I think oh no I was going to say I think after bgk dumped them I think they uh they played for the title maybe it was I don’t know um I think the farthest relationship here is somehow the segment wi 12 minutes the Seattle Kraken and there’s a team in Maine I think that’s their ECHL affiliate so that’s see it’s crazy right that’s pretty uh that’s interesting spre oh my God so ECHL all the way back on the east coast and then they have that debacle where really relied on cap friendly we always use that as a resource on this program and as to many of you and the fans can always look up information there and now the website which had agreements with a few NHL teams uh to use their tools they’re going to be sold and uh this um site will be closing around July the 5th it’s it’s been userfriendly for fans as I said for media members we’re not media members don’t get it twisted here um and you can find a lot of information salary caps are updated daily there and according to Elliot fredman though vgk this is not a threat to the vgk medeval nation you like that um the medieval Empire if you will uh the vgk is one of seven I think or eight teams I saw on the list that they have their own cap friendly tools but again so this goes away I guess Washington wanted to rather than um spend the money to build its own uh cap friendly site they just went and said let’s purchase this and so that’s what happens and that’s business and a lot of teams though are so I didn’t real ize the strength of cap friendly I guess first of all um it’s kind of shocking to me that there are general managers and more importantly than the general managers but the people that do crunch the salary caps and everything they rely on this site I figured there was something internal that the NHL provided or something the NHL you know whatever it just it just seems strange to me that there’s not one Universal tool that everybody looks to and then you have these sites like cap friendly puckpedia and ones that are around previously where you can go as a fan and get you know as close to upto-date information as possible here um I guess what does that say about where the capitals as a franchise are if they’re buying this so no one else can get their hands on it um some notes from Elliot Friedman’s kind of interesting here the NHL rounds on the existence of sites like this I had no idea yeah but they didn’t come up with their own site like this right that’s my thing that that’s my point they want to make it like where it’s a subscription of course the NHL now will take that model and they’re going to charge the fans and media folks well supposedly the league says if you’re going to partner with this it has to be public and you cannot you cannot monetize it in any way shape or form if the Caps were to do that so that’s the other thing I mean I honestly thought this was a money grab at first by the Caps they were going to do something monetize it use it as an income Source um but I think what what I read like a team like Winnipeg now this actually puts them in a weird spot Pittsburgh has been trying to develop their own tool and uh you know it’s kind of funny if anyone does follow puckpedia puckpedia is getting their ducks in a row here they’ve put out so many different tweets lately talking about enhancing things wow Jeremy Colton going to New Jersey what yeah assant coach okay um assistant coach yeah no that’s fine whatever but basically Pia people at puckpedia got their uh they got their they got their um they got their hands out they’re ready to be the next uh the next uh site that’s going to be purchased and for all these people to go uh and get paid but it’s it’s fascinating I wasn’t sure if it was like something related to caps caps friendly I don’t know I don’t know that was my first thought too yeah now I guess they just want to use this internally and I think it was like before you started on this program uh I had reached out to the cats from cap friendly and said hey can you guys come on one of you uh to do an interview you know on the air with me and they said hey dude like we have full-time jobs and we can’t do interviews at this point so but I guess part of the deal is they’re gonna hire the two cats that started cat friendly cat was cat friendly too yeah and the other thing about cap friendly like I’ve never even I don’t know if I’ve ever even seen an ad pop up on C on cap friendly no not either there’s ads on there but I don’t think I’ve ever like had to go through an ad to get to to get to the info my landing spot so I mean hey good for them listen if these guys are getting seven figure I mean it’s got to be a seven figure deal plus an employment deal good for them I mean if they they worked however long it was to get this going you said it’s been around since before I was I was here so it’s at least three four years I’m assuming it’s been longer than that so good um good on them and again I’m just I’m just amazed that the NHL doesn’t have one tool for all the teams to use like the salary cap is as big of an internal mystery as is an external mystery I said salary cap Tony gonna get started about the nights now okay yeah about those Golden Nights uh some of the data that it includes there on this site so we can see salaries of course the salary cap uh they’ve got contract info uh total cap numbers there’s much and I guess according to movement clauses I mean it’s it’s it’s everything right there it’s a tremendous resource uh for neophytes like myself who don’t know much about hockey how this information I’m sorry to cut you off but how do they get all this information yeah like particularly the movement Clauses and like how because it has to be all automated I mean I really wonder how they get this information yeah great question but 70% of the teams don’t have access to it and so now a lot of teams are scrambling trying to figure it out so would this fall under your capologist within your organization I would have to imagine right now to come up and develop some sort of tools uh and only eight seven eight teams already have something that they utilize internally themselves and luckily VG vgk was ahead of the curve here so they were able to uh have everything together before this news came out yeah I mean definitely yeah sorry I was just peeking at the site here trying to find out like what who has like no movement Clauses and stuff I mean I don’t know I don’t know it’s it’s the whole thing like I said it’s it’s fascinating who’s get gets what information now and definitely like the people who do especially the people in Vegas I don’t know who they are offand um but the people in Vegas who are responsible for getting down to within hundreds of dollars of the of the salary cap you know they’ve been using and I guess vgk has their own internal tools what I read on on all the stuff recently but for people that don’t have an internal tool like how do you operate like that I don’t know I just don’t get how how anyone who has a job with this much responsibility managing a hundred million do payroll in some circumstances like up in Toronto and even close to Vegas and Tampa and stuff like that how you go on the same site as a couple of clowns like me and Tony go on to you know spend you know 10 12 minutes a day talking about the bgk cap situation it’s a it’s a strange way to do business it’s a really strange way to do business so you think we’re gonna have to go to like uh only cap they might have to start a new site only cap subscription it’s a good time to me start buying up some uh buying up some names with the took a photo I was further away I saw him down on the floor and uh I waved but he couldn’t see me so yeah so LT in the off season uh he does he supports uh the sports here in the Vegas Valley and uh so of all of these Oilers infractions uh which one got an Edmonton player fined um the fogal extended did KNE and that hit on lanan uh was it dry cidal hit to barkov’s head that knocked barov out of game two and perhaps uh out of game three four five I don’t know um or um was it the uh the Carrick spear on kulakov well if you guessed letter C technically wasn’t a spear I don’t think because then I’m G to call it a nutshot oh yeah definitely a nut shot no doubt yeah yeah so Carrick finded $2,200 the maximum 22200 oh no the maximum fine on the nut slash yeah I mean you know what I was really Sur surprised out of all of those infractions no supplemental discipline for trical even 2200 clams why not if you’re if you’re hdden dry cidal with anything then the guy who I I always forget who it was but whoever put the choke job on uh on on the Oilers player definitely uh should get it as well so I mean listen the series is getting nasty it’s getting dirty but don’t suspend anyone let him go let him go I mean something really bad happens fine whatever but it’s bad on both sides right now don’t start taking players out of the game let these guys figure it out themselves Stanley Cup is on the line the kneeon knee I mean even watched that play wasn’t that bad I get the call I understand the call but when you watch it in real time when you slow it down that play wasn’t terrible there’s other knee circumstances that are happening what’s getting me right now is you have so many people just absolutely triggered about calls and no calls and Dav Staples up in Edmonton this guy has just turned in and I’m a Staples fan I mean Staples guy has turned into an absolute uh Homer number one for Edmonton and like every time McDavid has the puck he’s you know getting attacked and stuff like that which is part of what the Stanley Cup Final is and I mean here here’s the title of his article Edmonton Oilers Ace Conor McDavid hacked once every five seconds yes I agre controll the puck in game you’re the biggest Edmonton fan on the planet you’re the oil Nation I am mcdavid’s gotta get through this crap it’s it’s McDavid has to get through this end the story and the oil to shoot the puck is what he needs to shoot the puck when he has a leane and on the power play and again we might see the power play unit start to heat up because they started slow in that Dallas series and then all those pieces started to fit and watch out because and I think they’re going to I will take a guess here that uh Edmonton scores at least one power play goal and at least it to the next two two games I don’t think you’re off on that I mean I think they’re officially 0 for six and they’ve had extended periods of time I know they think they had the goalie pulled the other day trying to get one with the six on four as well I mean you know it’s I don’t think Edmonton can be silenced this long I think going home is going to help and maybe this is where the Battle of Paul Maurice versus a rookie NHL coach is starting to show its colors a little bit too you got home ICE you got the last change and I think that’s certainly can matter here and we’ll see what happens you said barov took the elbow right yeah yeah barov has been one of the key factors in slowing McDavid down so let’s see uh if barov can come and hopefully hopefully there’s no injury there that would be unfortunate reevaluate yeah they’re going to reevaluate him on Wednesday what what I don’t understand is and I don’t technically it’s not official until the game starts I guess but another angle I did see is maybe they’re being a little slow with barov waiting to officially announce if he’s going to be in the game or not maybe they’re trying to get the NHL to uh still take a look at this because something met discipline part of it fair file or otherwise I don’t like this personally but the injury sustained to the other player can factor into a potential suspension or did the player get their game misconduct five minutes into the first or with six minutes left in the third these things certainly play out and I don’t I personally don’t think that’s the right way to look at it but that’s what the NHL does so so be it so maybe there’s some uh some coach speak happening maybe there’s some of the uh some um I’m not sure what the word I’m looking for here but they’re just simply the Florida Panthers they they’re simply just trying to uh keep arof under the radar for a little bit and all of a sudden for the pregame skate on Wednesday he shows up and he’s just fine so I don’t think he’ll be just fine I think they’re going to again they’re going to have to re-evaluate him and see if he can go bble to get out there safely and play because I don’t want stars or people that will factor into the outcome of this series missing time for injuries suspensions what have you now if barov does Miss game three and Beyond should dry Sidle have had some level of sub metal discipline that’s the standard the NHL has put out there you injure a player in the playoffs with the dirty hits then sub metal discipline comes I don’t know so the Oilers are happy to be returning home because they will again get a chance opportunity to see Kate the Flasher uh they finally found this woman who flashed uh everyone there and she said she was only eight trues in that’s the reason why she did it so eight trues in tru’s not the strongest drink it’s actually yeah but it kind of creeps up on you I think yeah I don’t I’ve ever had enough trulies to even get a buzz let alone to want to yeah okay anyway and well you know up there in that altitude and down there down there in Edmonton the altitude probably gets to you a lot quicker and tomorrow of course we’ll have a preview of Confident Woman Tony that was a very confident woman I’ll say it like that well she told us eight trullies in so and she didn’t give us her last name and she wore the Bobby Valentine disguise with the glasses and the stash no stash she was on SP Chet guys right yeah or bartool spit and chicklets whatever yeah it was a very cringe interview I remember watch I I watched it was very uncomfortable like I mean I know you want to do something like that fine I don’t know if I don’t know I don’t know okay well we appreciate everyone tuning in especially our everyday yes I I just I’m trying to get out of this one uh but Kate
