I saw the first name “Troy” and the last name end with “u” and double taked.
he played left tackle for a left handed qb his senior year, so maybe less of an adjustment?
So, we know Dan Moore isn’t playing right, and we can reasonably assume Jones is starting at left. So Troy has to be starting at right with Moore backing up, yeah? I’ve been thinking Moore might be part of a trade package.
That’s a good sign. Jones is a true LT and should be there.
FUCK YEAH BABY WOOOOO
Even with this statement Jones could start the season at RT and Moore at RT
If they think it’s best I’m fine with it, he has all off-season to learn to shift footwork, and iirc Fautano has more experience on the right than Broderick, but even if not I think they’re making the decision based on what they see on tape and in workouts. I think both players are capable of both sides, so worrying about it seems unnecessary imo. Nobody here knows better than our coaches
We love to hear this !
3 left tackles walk into a room
I’m genuinely excited about this line. First time in years. Jones, Seumalo, Frazier, Daniels, Fautanu…it’ll take some time but this could develop into a really good unit.
Is it odd that a GM talks like this as if he’s the coach? I’m sure he’s talked with coach T, but Tomlin didn’t sound like he has made any decision or at least voiced any to the media. Just seems weird that the GM would say this. Thoughts?
My problem with this is: who is he competing against? Dan Moore is pretty adamant that he can’t play RT, and the only meaningful RT reps i’ve seen is BroJo/Fauntanu. I get the idea of “competing” for the job, and perhaps this is just my pessimistic side speaking, but I’m cautiously optimistic going into Latrobe
Honestly would have rather he started at LT and we kept Jones at RT, but I’m hopeful it’ll work.
