Happy Father’s Day everybody it is perfect weather for a final rubber match Rockies and Pirates one more time we’ll have Father’s Day baseball Dakota Hudson father three boys will be on the mound for Colorado Andrew McCutchen he’s homered in both games of the series he’ll lead it off strike three called and I think McCutchen was looking for a breaking ball and got the Hudson fast ball an opening strikeout for Dakota now here’s the redot Brian Reynolds the switch hitting left fielder two two pitch to Reynolds is a slow Bounder towards toia the Ray on Hudson just beats Reynolds to the bag to get the out first look in the series at O’Neal Cruz the 6’7 in Short Stop he drives this ball to deep left Center but there is room out there and ready to grab it is Nolan Jones to retire the side good start for Dakota Hudson no score and Pirates Bullpen game today so Lefty Josh Fleming will start it off facing the left-handed batting Charlie Blackman bounces this one routinely to second base Nick Gonzalez playing there today and gets the out one away here’s Ezekiel Tovar he swings and ropes one into left Reynolds coming on and he’ll dive head long to make the catch for the second out a sinking liner in the wind uh blowing in a little bit here today uh making it sink a lot faster so two quick outs for Fleming now gets another left-handed batter and Ryan McMahon 2-2 is hit towards left right center field it’s going to drop for a base hit Mack makes a big turn he’ll hold with a two out single nice swing on the curve ball yep now here’s Jacob Stallings three and two McMahon will be moving and the pitch from Fleming swing and a foul tip struck him out so a hit and one left for the Rockies two quick outs and now Jared triolo third baseman swinging a deep Fly ball right field Blackman started in on it and now it’ll go over his head the guy who’s played 14 years in this ballpark got fooled on it and ends up going as a double for triolo well you don’t see that happen often to happen to Charlie Blackman often if not ever that was uh very much a misplay let’s see if the PS can take advantage with Jack swinsky bouncing ball and that’s headed up the middle and that’s a base hit in a one- nothing Pirates lead Jack swinsky brings home Jared triolo boy what a nice break getting the Fly ball to drop for a double and then uh again just this is just a ground ball but look where it’s placed perfectly between the two middle infielders ja swinsky hit first base swinsky has five stolen bases has not been caught this year so certainly a threat we’ll keep the eye on him 02 pitch it delayed steel there’s a throw to second base and got him at second on a perfect throw by Jacob Stallings great throw by Stallings to end the inning two outs and now Andrew McCutchen and McCutchen into right center field and a base hit that gives him 21001 career hits which is tied with Felipe Aloo on the all-time Major League Baseball Hits list nutson trying to avoid what happened last inning with two outs Pirates were able to score run now a tough hitter in Reynolds Ball Four to aboard with two outs for O’Neal Cruz first walk for to go to Hudson Hudson try to work out of a jam the pitch swing and a miss he got him challenged him with the fast ball elevated and got a strike out when he really needed one Pittsburgh leaves two on Gonzalez leads off against Dakota Hudson pop up drop him quickly Blackman and he can’t hang on how about that what the mystery out there in right field that’s going to go down as a hit start this inning in the fourth here’s a one oh to rowy line drive base hit the other way Gonzalez touches second heads to third he can do that in this ball part somewhat contested play but he’s in there and Rowdy with a base hit bucks on the pond for Jared triolo coming up and the pirates with a one to nothing lead are threatening to add on pick swing and a miss got him with a good breaking ball there out number one on strikeout number four now he gets swinski to two again swing and a miss he got him with a change up so after two singles two strikeouts for Dakota HUD oh just executing the pitches beautifully so a chance to keep the pirates from scoring if he can get Michael Taylor Hudson fires way outside bade Steel by tles now they’ve got the runner hung up at home and third and tied out at third base is Gonzalez perfectly executed by the Rockies and no damage done that’ll get the Rockies going there lead off single here’s Jake cave and he’ll line it the opposite way into left field for a base hit backto back hits for the Rockies to begin the fit 52 pitches for Fleming most since the opening road trip and now Carmen Maj jinsky enters the game for Hunter Goodman who hit two home runs drove in four at four hits yesterday and bouncing ball to short 6 4 three double play Carmen majsky against Hunter Goodman to hit into the Twin killing and two out with Jones at third that’ll leave it up to Amador adiel and that is going to do it Carmen Maj jinsky comes on and gets the job done beautiful second and third two down a challenge here for Victor bodnick he’s trying to keep the deficit at one so first base is open Jerry triolo now the third baseman is the hitter bouncing ball headed up the middle a base hit this will score two big tree delivers a big hit up up the middle to bring home Cruz and Gonzalez three nothing Pittsburgh and a little low ball four and Taylor draws a walk with two on to load the bases for Jason delay three nothing Pirates they got a chance for more here in the sixth a great opportunity this is for Jason delay into right center field for Jason delay gets it down all the way to the wall Jason delay a Bas is clearing double how about that delay wasting no time to bust it out and give the Pirates a six nothing lead in the sixth inning was it first nobody out now o Neil Cruz there’s a drive to right center field a line drive and the shortt Hop the wall kick away from cave into second a double for Cruz Reynolds into third nobody out I mean that thing just takes off like a rocket Rowdy tles with the infield in now for the Rockies and this ball in the air to left field just enough over the head of the draw in Infield it’s going to be a two-run single for rowdy tles rowdy putting on the route now it is8 to nothing here in the seven tles now last 11 games hitting about 350 another left-handed hitter Jake cave with Runners at the corners and one out cave had a base hit back in the fifth inning there’s that o02 pitch to Jake cave and he’ll hit that to second base that could be two second for one Cruz on to First with that big arm safe he pulled him off the bag first Bas on James Hoy said that tles came off the bag the Pirates are going to ask for a review well if he does come off the bag and he is ruled safe the Run scores the Rockies are beyond the board after view the call the field stands the runner is safe Rockies are on the board Jake cave fielders choice will get credit for the RBI 8 to one Al Nicklas looks for the last three outs 2-1 and one out Nolan Jones who has two of the Rockies hits today onew again is H Fair inside the left field line they’re going to send Stallings and he will score it wasn’t a blast by Nolan Jones but his third hit of the night gets the Rockies a run to make it 8 to2 Pirates don’t have anybody throwing yet they still have a six-run lead two outs still two and two he struck him out looking Kyle Nicholas a gutsy two- inning performance and the Pirates take the series here at corfield Raise the Jolly Rogers

The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Colorado Rockies 8-2 at Coors Field on June 16, 2024. The Buc’s scored on RBI from from Jack Suwinski, Jared Triolo (2), Jason Delay (3) and Rowdy Tellez (2). Josh Fleming went 4 scoreless innings, followed by a strong performance by the bullpen to only let up 2 runs, to secure the win and clinch the series.
