  1. Good morning beautiful people. It is a new day. I had to work on the weekend cause my boss. Fuck my boss. Go Giants.

  2. ##Mock 53 Monday

    *Offense (26)*

    —–

**QB – 3: Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito**

It will be a little while before Jones is full health so keeping three is pretty likely so they don’t feel the need to push him at any point. They could try to get DeVito to the practice squad but there is alway some risk with subjecting him to waivers.

**RB – 4: Devin Singletary, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Eric Gray, Dante Miller**

The first three are no-brainers, but Miller is the first curveball. The Giants (and most teams) need two kick returners now. New ST Ghobrial described the new kick returns: “it’s going to look more like the offensive run game than people think”. Then highlighted Tracy and Miller: “Man, you talk about two young bucks that I’m excited to see what they do in preseason, both of them just tremendous human beings, number one, and so excited, so eager to put their best foot forward. Both have such a skillset to be good returners in this league.”

**TE – 3: Daniel Bellinger, Theo Johnson, Jack Stoll**

Lawrence Cager failed to take a step forward in his progress last year, but worth keeping an eye on in preseason. Jack Stoll and Chris Manhertz were both signed to address the blocking TE role, but not reason to keep both for the same job. Stoll is much younger so gave him the nod.

**WR – 7: Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, Jalin Hyatt, Isaiah Hodgins, Gunner Olszewski, Miles Boykin**

The first four are obvious but then it gets tricky. Gunner Olszewski is just there for punts (Isaiah McKenzie in the mix too) and Miles Boykin is just there to be gunner. Carrying eight with both Allen Robinson and Isaiah Hodgins would be a bit much. The hopes for Hodgins didn’t progress last year and Robinson is on the decline, so hard to pick him or Allen Robinson. Bryce Ford-Wheaton comes back from injury so we’ll see how he does too.

**OL – 9: Andrew Thomas, Jon Runyan, John Michael Schmitz, Jermaine Eluemunor, Evan Neal, Austin Schlottmann, Aaron Stinnie Matt Nelson, Joshua Ezeudu**

The starters are pretty much set for now and I doubt we see a change between now and the start of the year unless there are injuries. Schlottmann is the clear backup center signed for two years. Matt Nelson was signed to be a swing tackle, but Ezeudu has been forced to take those reps while he continues to work back from injury. Stinnie is a backup guard. McKethan is the big cut here who didn’t look good last year and after adding three free agent guards he seems like the odd man out.

    *Defense (24)*

    —–

**DL – 5: Dexter Lawrence, Rakeem Nunez-Roches, Jordan Phillips, D.J. Davidson, Jordon Riley**

No surprises here, same as last year, but A’Shawn Robinson was downgraded to Phillips. The one surprise I could see is Ryder Anderson, who Andre Patterson has talked up and got first team reps at mini camp. Reportedly he’s up to 305lbs (from 278) and Riley is down to 310lbs (from 338lbs).

**OLB – 4: Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Azeez Ojulari, Boogie Basham**

Burns was the big offseason splash and him and Thibodeaux are the best duo they’ve had on the ends in a long time. Hopefully, Ojulari can stay healthy with a greatly reduced role. Basham was forgettable last year but there really is no one else.

**ILB – 5: Bobby Okereke, Micah McFadden, Isaiah Simmons, Matthew Adams, Darius Muasau**

Okerek and McFadden are the obvious starter, Simmons’ role in the new defense is yet to be defined. Adams is an ST ace, but not much else. Muasau’s role in the defense but not only has he made comments about special teams already but he played for new ST coordinator Ghorborial at Hawaii, so that is undoubtedly how he’ll start up. Between the new staff adding Muasau and Adams, Coughlin looks like he could be the odd man out after four years of ST work.

**CB – 6: Deonte Banks, Cor’Dale Flott, Andru Phillips, Tre Herndon, Nick McCloud, Tre Hawkins**

They’re easing Phillips in so far and have been using McCloud with the first team. We’ll see how Flott does on the outside, but the newest Giant, Herndon has experience there if they need him. Jury is out on Hawkins after being last year’s preseason darling. McCloud is the other Gunner with Boykin and has even seen reps at ILB. Darnay Holmes is behind Phillips and McCloud in the slot, they’ve tried him outside but not sure I see it, and he might lose his ST role to Boykin.

**S – 4: Jason Pinnock, Tyler Nubin, Dane Belton, Jalen Mills**

We will see how they bring along Nubin and if they try to work Belton in. Gervarrius Owens is a surprise cut here, but he was just a 7th round flier so Mills gets the nod as a veteran presence in the young group. Their handling Bobby McCain and Owens last year was a waste, they combined for two tackles on the year. Cutting Owens this fast would be a surprise, but we will see how they handle him in preseason.
