Royals vs. Rangers Game Highlights (6/23/24) | MLB Highlights

Mad Max taken to the mound three sa Young’s two time World Series champion going to face Bobby wit Jr as the Rangers are going for the series sweep well it is a big day for Rangers fans on this Sunday afternoon as Max sherzer returns to the mound and makes his season debut yes Mad Max is back so now Bobby Whit Jr fun match up one of the great young stars in the game against one of the most uh decorated veteran pitchers in the game a swing and a miss he Strikes Out Bobby Wht first strike out of the season for ma Sherer swing in the Miss he got him to chase a high fast ball and got that one up there to 94.2 milph serer who says he’s an adrenaline pitcher seems to be showing that right now and a pop up left side of the infield for Duran and it’s a one two3 first inning for Mad Max just 10 pitches need Alec Marsh hopefully he’s the guy who just who beat the Yankees two starts ago cuz he was nailed he was awesome Seager hitting 252 14 homers 35 runs batted in oh the line sharply over first that’s heading down into that right field Corner Seager can cruise to second base with a one out double Cory cruises it to second base with a ringing double down the line and right Rangers have scored five runs or more four straight games Josh has been a big part of it good pit and no argument from Smith two down called strike three Marsh got him looking with a sinker first strike out of the afternoon for Alec Marsh fast ball over the outside corner call strike three back to back backwards CS from Alec Marsh well it only took Max sh or 10 pitches to get out of the first inning as he’s back on the mount for the top of the second and a swing and a miss he strikes him out second strike out for Scherzer you love that Bulldog mentality you get to a 3-2 count and if anybody doesn’t walk want to walk a hitter it’s Sherer pops this one straight up in the air out in front of the plate and nice play by kizner to get to it and make the play he didn’t see it initially yeah that’s a wideeye moment for Andrew kizner but another one two three for Sherer Marsh’s retired five of the first six first free pass today Duran makes his way bring up kizner and kizner Chase ball four so Marsh gets his third strike out he has two scoreless innings and we have no score in Texas so that’s seven up seven down for ma sherzer in his first start of the Season doing it efficiently and this one lined out to right field but right to Garcia two gone looking really good so far here today and did he get him swinging he did third strike out of the afternoon for Max Scherzer an eight pitch third inning and the right-hander cruising through three scoreless so far this afternoon Mach CER has retired all nine Kansas City batters he has struck out three of them this one on the ground Short Stop backhand picked by Seager good throw and he gets Lofton one away to start the fourth inning and a good quick release there from Cory Seager nice play by Cory Seager having to throw across his body moving toward the third Baseline to glove that on the rim Lofton is out 10 straight retired by Scherer and a popup in the left coming in Langford and he’ll make the catch another one two three now this Rangers offense try to get a little something going ball four and the Rangers now have a leadoff base runner for the second inning of a row adolis is on Nathaniel low is coming up next no bouncer left side of the infield that’s going to be a lot of trouble there’s no play to be had infield hit for Nathaniel low and the Rangers had the first two men on base so two men on for their hottest hitter Wyatt Langford Rangers B for four today with Runner and scoring position hammers this one out to the alley and right field that’s down base hit around Third Base Garcia he’ll score Lankford has an RBI double and the Rangers get that first R of the ball game it’s one to nothing he’s done it again another RBI for the rookie Wyatt Langford so with the Rangers hottest hitter at the plate you know you’re in a good spot and he comes through continue to threaten here with Runners on second and third tough outs right there for the Rangers the infield will relax with Tois coming up puts that out to short left field that could be trouble going out is wit he can’t get it it drops down both runs will score low is in lford right behind him a bloop single just a butterfly of a hit by taras and the Rangers have a three nothing lead leot just got enough of that curveball to pop it up over the infield but not deep enough but it finds some green space and gets the job done Max sherzer has retired one the first 13 men he is faced here today looked every bit the veteran superstar that he is his first pitch to Melendez MJ hits it to the Gap and right center field taras got a bad angle on it it’s going to bounce over the wall for a double and the Royals get their first base runner with one out in the fifth inning so that ends the no hitter in the perfect game as Melendez hitting a pitch that might not have been a strike for Kansas City now with a man in scoring position a one-w pitch there’s a strike out of Renfro and that ties M Scherer with Greg Maddox for 11th all time on the alltime strike out list just got such nasty stuff even with diminished velocity that’s pretty cool man one of the best of all time Sher fires and a check swing roller by the mound toward second Simeon has to hustle it he does and they get Velasquez the inning is over halfway there today Rangers with the lead and Ma sh are a little history this afternoon I saw this between Innings and thought that maybe sh are showing that arm and gesturing wildly and then the handshake Bruce Boi Mike Maddox is company they don’t want to push him any farther than is necessary now he has pitched really well I can’t get over the fact that was his first start of the year and he pitched that well Morena now will be asked to gobble up a couple Innings and there’s the swing a little flare into shallow Center that’ll drop for a hit for Michel Garcia he will gladly take that or need a couple more guys on see if they can get to the Rangers Bullpen here Runner goes here’s the pitch swinging a miss down to Second and out at second base is Garcia to strike him out throw him out double play great Peg by kizner and the tag is applied by Simeon L of things going well for the Rangers today so the Rangers have second and third with two outs well the Royals have had Lefty Sam long warming up in the bullpen likely for this exact scenario and Paul Hoover comes out of the Dugout it seems to make the change Marsh Falls and out shy of a quality start it’s the second appearance of the series left-handed batters hitting just 1 for 16 against long with no extra base hits and now Seager hits it to center field Blanco is back and he runs it down on the track so Texas strands two in scoring position they lead three nothing at the end of six Texas comes up in the bottom of inning number seven leading this game three nothing oh this ball hammered out to right field that one is gone a no doubter for Josh Smith 4 nothing Rangers remember last inning when I said that long hadn’t given up an extra base hit to a left-handed hitter so far this season well no longer it’s his seventh home run his 31st run batted in and again the Rangers now lead it four to nothing Rangers dominating this afternoon 4 nothing ARA out to try and finish this one off his two hits today for Kansas City three hits yesterday which tied their season long bouncer left side of the infield and gathers it up throws it across a diamond in time A 1 two 3 nth so Ora gets the save the Rangers get the sweep of Kansas City what a goodest series you can imagine

  1. I donโ€™t even remember the last time they had a 3 game sweep, Iโ€™m glad they got it today though. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

  2. Hey, fellow Rangers fans….
Q: What are you supposed to do when someone scatters Kansas City Royals all over the floor?
    A: You sweep 'em!
