CANUCKS MAKE ANOTHER HUGE SIGNING: TYLER MYERS 3-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION
who let’s go let’s freaking go Patrick Alvine man Patrick Aline I love you this is exactly what happens when you get rid of Ilia Mev this is it you trade away that money you retain a little bit of salary you open everything up monetarily wise and then you do this you sign Teddy Bluer oh okay fantastic you sign who in the heck did they sign today Dakota Joshua big money deals right there and guess what that’s not all baby Patrick Alan announced the Vancouver conects have agreed to terms with forward tyer Meyers on a three-year contract with a $3 million aav newest version of this post what is the newest version of this post what’s the difference I have no idea what the difference is here but Tyler Meyers everybody is a Vancouver Canuck still they did not let him go to UFA status if you go over to cap friendly and you search up what exactly the conects have on top here look at this so cap friendly I don’t know how updated they’re going to be because this Tyler mys news just came out like a few minutes ago but now all the Canucks have to do is resign Ian Cole oh yeah it is updated there you goes three million bucks Tyler Myers Ian Cole Nikita zadorov Casey the Smith arur seov and Elias lindhome a whole bunch of these guys we already speculated are going to be leaving the team but when it comes to the contracts they did sign Dakota Joshua is back Teddy Bluer is back Philip ronic I think that was the really big one that’s the big Domino that started it all after chronic was signed then they signed everybody else after Mark fredman included in that too he got him self a contract this is it baby the Vancouver Canucks are running it back they now have what is that five defensemen under contract for next season and they’ve just got two more to go I say five because I’m not really including Mark fredman into that discussion but still they have 6D six NHL caliber defensemen signed up and under contract after just a few days of worrying because you know at the beginning of the off season it was only Quinn Hughes Susi and Noah Json that were signed on for next year Patrick Alvine is Wheeling and dealing and with this the Canucks have about $12 million in cap space remaining which is pretty good I’d say $112 million to round out the rest of the forward core bring back a guy sign a jake gensel or something and then who knows if they bring back a guy like Nikita zadorov that’s the big question mark Ian Cole he’s already going to leave we already know that the Smith he’s already going to leave we know that Arthur sovs is probably going to get a cheap deal and then the K Canucks have to add a big forward so that’s it e Tyler Meers three million bucks that’s half of the aav he was making earlier now I do question how far three years is going to take Tyler Myers he’s 34 now he will be 37 by the time the contract is over but for a guy who has really started to play some solid hockey as of late he had uh do I want to say this is a career year no it’s not right he had the 48 Point season in his first NHL year he had a Vancouver Canucks career year 29 Points in 77 games played for Tyler Myers and one assist in 12 games in the playoffs the one assist we don’t really care about that he was fine he was more than passable more than okay in the postseason in my opinion just the shutdown capability the physicality how he was able to get the puck out of his own Zone Tyler Meers came alive when it came to the Vancouver conu playoff ront in 2023 2024 he didn’t have the same offensive touch that Nikita zadorov did but these two guys played a very similar role and they excelled tremendously on the back end in that respect Tyler Myers of course one of the towers that the Vancouver connects had on their blue line with sidorov and Carson Susi but heading into the next three years at the very least the contract is no longer $6 million aav 3 million is a lot more stomachal for Vancouver connect fans and it makes the contract a lot easier to move around if Tyler Myers sucks again like if he he’s terrible there’s always going to be a premium in the NHL for right-handed defenseman especially big ones especially ones that can hit Tyler Myers of course is I think the tallest active NHL player right now 68 229 right-handed D this is a very very good contract and I’d say that when it comes to the fan base’s perception on Tyler Meers at this time a year ago everybody was freaking out saying yeah no they just got one more year at this guy and then he’s gone there you go no more $6 million man but now it’s like okay well I kind of want to bring him back I said that I wanted to bring him back a lot of kanu fans in the comments of our video said they wanted to bring him back and with 3 million bucks on the payroll that’s a pretty good contract I would say a lot of the replies let’s refresh the page over here if you scroll through some of the replies here on this Twitter post I don’t want to show most of them but like it does seem to be a bit conflicted like where everybody was super happy that the Cod of Joshua got a contract I’d say that this Tyler Meers deal is more 7525 people be happy about it there’s a lot of people saying they don’t like it but either way I think that Tyler Myers is a pretty solidified defenseman for his role and for 3 million bucks I don’t think that it’s a bad contract especially if he continues to play meaningful top four caliber minutes and I say top four very Loosely because we recognize that the Canucks Decor especially in the playoffs the bottom four pairings got very or not bottom four pairings the bottom four defenseman excuse me all got pretty equal playing time so Tyler Myers isn’t really a top four defenseman if you think he’s more of a number five he’s going to get played roughly in that same number four esque kind of minutes territory so if all of the guys in the back end balance that out with Hughes and honic getting the majority of the minutes I think it actually does make a lot of sense here with $3 million as the price tag if you wanted to go that far now with the cap space in mind you still have to question whether or not the Canucks are going to be able to bring back sidorov and I think that was the guy that a lot more Canucks fans unanimously want to bring back Tyler Myers I’d say it’s a lot better than it was last year but it’s not unanimous either way though if we go over to AFP analytics an extra year and a touch below our aav but this is a solid deal for both the Canucks and Tyler Meyers so what AFP was saying Myers could have gotten if he was to be a free agent was 2 years $3.1 million aav on a contract but the Canucks ended up giving him an extra year but they reduced the aav by about $170,000 so the total value of the contract is roughly $23 million apart but the Vancouver Canucks ended up getting a pretty good player for a cap hit that was a tad lower than what he could have gone for on the free agent market so let me know your thoughts in the comments section below about Tyler Myers getting resigned by the Vancouver Canucks the cap hit percentage is 3.42 which is a lot better than all the other cap hit percentages that we had seen at a topish defenseman in previous years Dan gerardi 3 million bucks with the lightning Trevor daily 3.1 with the Red Wings and then Dan hamus big shout out over to Dan hamus for making an appearance on this graphic over here but let me know your thoughts in the comments as to whether or not you like this signing I personally do I love Tyler Myers now it’s kind of crazy I’m kind of bipolar when it comes to hockey like I’m not going to lie the fact that I out of everybody on this planet have made such a 360 in terms of the perception and feelings towards Tyler Meers that is mindboggling but I’m super happy about this deal I question how it’s going to age into the next few years but for now Tyler Myers can continuously be that guy in the playoffs let’s just say 17 to 20 minutes a night and big games he scores some points here and there which is not really what you get him for but if he’s able to be that physical presence and breakout machine I think that’s a pretty good addition let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this but sh 99 and bye

Allvin is truly cooking 🔥
What does this mean for zadorov?
The newest post was. They said myers was a forward. It was a edit . So it say d not forward.
They had him listed as a forward before you refreshed 😂 thought I went crazy for a second
I think they’re now out on Guentzel. They’ll probably pursue someone like Skinner or another 2nd tier winger for Pettersson and try to lock up Zadorov. Rumour has it they also want DeSmith back, which suggests that Demko could be a long term issue.
how much cap space is left now?
All the pressure on Zadora after all of the signed😅
Great signing. I wish it was 2 years instead of 3 but this is fine
What a waste… $3M x3… 1 year sure not 3
They have a plan
Another 2nd + Myers going out
If myers got 3×3 then zadorov should ask for 3×9
$3M is much better than the $6M he was getting last year.
One year with a two year buyout. 😂
Good signing hopefully we sign zadorov and guentzel
It is always about what do you bring to the team for the money. Myers outscored Big Z in the regular season but not the playoffs. You get paid for what you do in the regular season and not the playoffs. The playoffs are what lures managers into the bad contracts. I really like how Big Z fit in with the Canucks but he is about to get disappointed with what he will be offered on July 1. Same thing with Lindy, they are about to find out the July 1 lottery doesn't always work out the way you think. Big Z is worth what he was being paid this year and not more. Sad reality and Rutherford clearly knows what he is doing. Allvin is just the front man, learning from the old pro.
