NBA Draft LIVE: Phoenix Suns Trade UP To Select Oso Ighodaro Out Of Marquette
[Music] [Music] [Music] welcome into day two of the phnx draft Extravaganza it’s the second round it’s day two and it’s the bronny James Baloo baby we’re waiting to see where bronny James go could he fall to 56 for the Phoenix Suns could they trade up oh there’s a lot of other guys available though too and two of my favorite guys that are on the board still FX it’s Gerald I’m espo gentlemen how are you doing today doing pretty good we’re last night was a lot of fun I’m exhausted but I’m ready to run it back I’m with you dog I’m exhausted I’m on fumes but it was a lot of fun well worth it and it’s some really good talent on this board still man it’s gonna be fun today to see the bronny James stuff and see what some of these very talented basketball players end up you guys didn’t take some performance enhancers performance liquid I no I I took I took some caffeine okay I read all about Ryan dun and I am ready to go because you know what gentlemen what the future is bright I’m putting on the Shady Rays because the future is so damn bright here in Phoenix make sure uh that you get your own Shady Rays because today is brought to you by our friends over at Shady Rays head to Shady rays.com use the promo code phnx at check check out and you’re going to get 35% off polarized sunglasses yeah that’s right the fut is that bright that we need to wear him let’s talk about Ryan Dunn pick 28 yesterday for the Phoenix Suns a athletic freak A guy who is known for his defense uh we we got a few comments from the GM James Jones but I want to recap how you guys feel about him yeah I mean I like the pick I have my concerns about the offensive end but I I do think that the finishing ability is there and hopefully with the shooting that they put around him they’ll be able to at least make him pass on the offensive end um you don’t want situations where you’re playing four on five trying to score four against five Defenders because they’re just completely ignoring him but defensively the upside is clear he’s the best defensive playmaker best defender in the draft by far we had been saying all week like the Suns need more plus-sized defensive minded wings that is Ryan dun to a te he’s going to be scary on that end if he can just be passable on offense yeah I mean again you guys know how I feel I’m I’m super excited about Ryan dun had been for quite some time um you try to leave the NBA draft with a prospect that could be the best at something and we might have left the draft with the best defensive player in this draft high IQ can guard on the ball can guard off the ball um help defense his awareness his athleticism I mean these are all things that are extremely hard to teach um I’m with Gerald you know it’s it’s okay to have the concerns about offense um but I also think that what he brings on the other side uh super exceeds that and gives me a little bit of hope that you know in time uh these things offensively he can fix and he could become a guy that we’re talking about in two three years as a guy when we get closer to 2026 and you get closer to the possibility of Devin Booker being under contract and you know we don’t know who else is going to be on this team but he could be a future piece that we’re sitting back and remembering this draft and saying wow we we got that guy at 28 so uh super super excited I spent another three hours watching his film last night and I couldn’t sleep I couldn’t sleep with the excitement I got with uh you know just just how good this guy is defensively well James Jones did address uh Ryan Dunn shooting and let’s hear what he had to say last night you know he’s improving and and what he was asked to do at Virginia was to defend and you know he relied on his athleticism um the shooting is isn’t where he he wanted it to be or where we think it will be in a few years um but he’s an impactful player and and in great players find a way to impact the game um not just with the offensive box score and so I’m confident with our our staff with Bud our coaches that will allow him or will he’ll be uh primed to improve as a shooter and if he could if he can do that and do it quickly I think we found a gym yeah he hit the nail right on the head and we’ve been hearing the buzz that he impressed a lot of teams in these pre-draft workouts with the shooting ability with what he was able to do in competitive settings not just on the defensive end so uh hopefully this is something that he could surprise us I I think the poor free throw shooting is a rough sign because normally when you see guys that struggled to shoot the three ball in college at least they were in the 70s free throw wise he’s at 53% but that doesn’t mean he can’t improve he’s still young and I went back and I looked at Ryan and I looked at him early last year at Virginia and at one point he was as high as 71% from the free throw line and then it kind of dipped off a little bit but again um I I I don’t see anything in his shot that screams deficiency right mechanically sound you know we talk about you know whether it’s balance elbow eyes feet like these are the things you look at in a jump shot and when I look at his balance I look at his eyes I look at his elbow I look at his feet I see a guy that mechanically can get it done he just hasn’t taken enough shots and hasn’t been put in a situation where they want him to embrace taking those shots that matters like when you’re playing at Virginia they they’re one of the slower teams in the country very methodical about offense defense defense defense and when you’re not being encouraged to take those shots uh that can deal with the psyche of a player but in the workouts he shot it well and so again I got noon to believe that this guy you know at some point at some point if this guy can make one out of every three you’re you’re you’re loving this pick 30% what he brings defensively and athleticism wise uh you just can’t teach and so you love it I think you’re right some of it has to do with confidence for sure we’ll uh talk with Drew ham hanin a little bit later uh you and Lindsay got a chance to catch up with him and he’ll talk about from a trainers perspective yeah how uh you can work and fix a shot as well so we’ll talk on that later but I do want to hear from James Jones on his overall thoughts on how they did on night one of the NBA draft uh I thought tonight was a good night for us we came into the game uh to the draft with a couple of objectives we wanted to get more athletic um defensively on the perimeter we wanted to add some size um and some Youth and I I thought that we were able to do two things tonight get the player that we wanted uh move him back and pick up uh other assets and capital for the future to continue to allow us to have more resources to build the team for the long term so this is interesting obviously they got the number 56 pick uh a source is telling me that the Suns may not be done making moves today you look at the second round there are several teams that have multiple second round picks there are teams that still have second round picks after having a first round pick that may not want to use all of these picks on players to have on their roster now there are a couple of guys that the Suns still like um Tyler K I know there’s been a lot of speculation about him I think it’d probably be tough to trade up far enough to get him uh just because I would be shocked if he goes any later than the next five picks to start this second round um but there are a couple of guys to keep an eye on and obviously like bronny James is going to be the guy that people talk about he’s had two pre-draft workouts with the Suns the suns are one of two teams that he’s worked out for the Lakers have a pick right before the Suns at number 55 we see the Celtics uh right there at I think 53 or 54 the Oklahoma City Thunder just traded into 52 so there are a number of contenders that are kind of in that range that you wonder okay are we posturing for anything here are we considering this uh so just something to keep an eye on I don’t know that they’re going to try to trade up to get Brony James but uh I am being told that they may not be done making moves and may not be content to just sit at 56 one thing we do know is due to the new CBA they cannot buy a second round pick so they will not be buying their way back into this draft it will have to come from an actual trade uh shout out to Brent hello Amelia Judi beef Supreme uh Eli Ashley everybody in the chat Stephen thanks for joining us we want to hear what you think about trading up uh in this second round and being aggressive for the Suns and while you’re here hit that like button it’s a really good thing to do to help us out and subscribe as well get those notifications so you know when we’re going live and if you want to become a die hard too you can get some great stuff there we are just moments away from the second round of the NBA draft starting but I I want to know final thoughts on night one for the Suns we’ve had what you know a little over 14 hours to 15 hours to kind of uh let it set in uh what grade would you give it uh I would give it a I’m somewhere in between B plus a minus I want to see what they do in the second round but in terms of the first round I like Ryan Dunn a lot I like the fact that he was there at 22 he’s the guy that they wanted they were able to still get him at 28 while also bringing in assets at the same time it’s not you know some Like Home Run move that everyone’s going to be talking about oh you got three second round pick pick but this is what smart teams do especially teams that don’t have a lot of future draft Capital that they can trade you add assets wherever you can um so you know now I think I’ve talked myself into probably an A minus when you consider that I like Dunn I like him a lot well you just you just did exactly what I was going to do if you want to stay at B+ I was going to give the because I think again you got a guy that you targeted a guy that you wanted a guy that you did extensive work on uh a guy that understands I spoke to a source uh recently this morning I said you had a conversation with dun last night he already knows what his role is he already is is embracing that expects you know to come in and and play a certain way and so you get a guy that fits in a need and then you get the three extra picks and that gives it an A minus for me for sure yeah the extra picks push it into that a minus range for me because that was one thing you knew you had to find a way to do this offseason is get some Capital that you can use uh in other moves I’m going to one thing that stood out to me and it’s dumb it’s a little thing but I look at it when they when they cut to the guy after he’s drafted what’s his emotion uh what does he look like and and you saw dun and he was very emotional right uh and it looked like I think in the photos he also brought his mother back for his draft photo like it’s dumb I know but those little things to me catch my eye that this meant a lot to this kid and we’ve talked about having that dog in him those kind of things things I I like that I like that that there was an emotion to it no and I think as a as a fan there’s nothing wrong with enjoying that moment for someone else and like making it easier to root for that person you know like in terms of reading into it in terms of what it means basketball-wise obviously there’s not a lot there but it it is a nice feeling to see a player have their dream realized and have the impact of that moment just kind of come over them because so often we see you know we see people react to picks online and we see oh that’s a terrible pick what are they doing just you know dumping on these kids who are realizing their dreams um so it is nice to be able to see that type of reaction to see someone be like man I’m going to the Phoenix Suns I’m gonna play for the Phoenix Suns with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant and all this stuff uh so that is a cool thing and I think it makes it you know it’s not the end all Beall in terms of getting fan support or anything like that but it’s it’s a nice way to for fans to immediately connect to that play when you see a genuine reaction like that it’s not dumb espo I know you said it’s not it’s something that I look forward to um I loved his emotion you got to understand his background to this this guy wanted to be a phoenix son this guy wanted to be here there was background conversation there were interviews you know uh he just wanted to be a son and this is a guy who comes from a family whose brother is a former first round pick in the MLB Okay so so you know this isn’t some this is a kid that knows what it’s like to be a pro has been around Pros has been in his spot before to have that raw motion a a a a moment in the NBA draft and I’ll make this quick moment in the NBA draft that changed my life okay I’m from New York I’m from New Jersey and the 96 draft I remember Stefon malberry getting drafted okay and I remember the amount of emotion that that man I was in my room crying you know why cuz that’s my guy that’s a New York guy that’s a guy that’s got five brothers that could all play pro ball none of them made it Stefon made it and that that emotion actually changed my life it it did it gave me an entire perspective about you know be passionate about what you do love what you do put the [ __ ] work in and if you do good things will happen and that’s I saw that from D last night I saw raw emotion that made me feel good about the pick and live I was pointing at the screen when when I saw it so I liked it to be fair I did cry before I came out here but it was just because I realized I had to spend two more hours that’s with you guys hello says seeing a kid not cry at the draft espo that it says that jerk yeah freaking cry it’s a LIF defining moment yes it is you ain’t got to cry if you if you feel C you can cry you if you don’t cry you’re not going to be an all store or Hall of Famer see this is what I it’s my calling coward hat backwards thing all right you don’t have to cry but if you do it’s okay can we I want to take a look at at your big board if we can he Flex because I think there’s still a lot of talent that we didn’t necessarily expect coming into this second round yeah I mean listen we all know Tyler KCT is a first round great guy we all know F Kyle filipowski who I had 15 on the board that can do a lot of really good things is still on the board a guy and I’m I’m enamored with is Tyler Smith um I think he’s got a first round great I think somebody’s going to grab him and be very happy uh there’s just a lot of Talent on this board guys I’ll tell you uh Bobby clitman is a guy that I really love watched a lot of tape on him a little raw but 610 very athletic uh can if if he can continue to develop uh he can be a player in this league I mean there’s there’s a ton of a guy at I got at 22 guys I got a guy at 22 cam Spencer Yukon okay this guy won a national championship this guy played with two first round picks there another teammate of his that uh Newton that’s going to probably going this draft this is a guy that’s 6’4 he plays two guard can he play a little bit of point guard that’s up for question he had four assists a game but man this is a 5040 guy 50 4090 guy in college basketball I don’t give a damn will you do 50 4090 I don’t care if you do it on the moon and Mars if you do 50 490 you’re a heck of a basketball player and you’re probably a pro so if you do it on the mo moon with no grab have Dam good point good point that’s incredible shooting good point um no but I I do think to your point Flex that there are multiple players that are still going to be available in the second round that could be at 56 or could be maybe a few picks earlier depending on if the Suns make a move up the ladder there um so it would make sense to maybe take a flyer I understand roster spots are limited on this team you need to fill them out um as well as you possibly can and address your needs I don’t know that a necessarily a rookie necessarily does that but like if all you have are vet minimums in free agency and your trade Avenues are restricted what’s the what’s the harm in taking a flyer on one of these second round guys especially some of the guys if they happen to continue to fall like I don’t know that Tyler Smith or Bobby Clinton or some of these guys will be there yeah but if they are like it’s a no-brainer at that point Hunter wants to know any chance that they trade some of these draft assets that they accumulated to move up for Tyler collect yeah so we we covered it a little bit earlier I’m not sure that they have the assets to pull that off um just because I feel like kleck’s probably going to go in these first four or five points I’d be shocked if he continues to slide that far especially after teams this is the difference between a one night draft and a two night draft is we saw a flurry of trade activity leading up to the second round today teams have had time to like reset sleep think about it and realize okay who are the best prospects on the board Tyler collect got to be up there uh so I don’t know that the Suns I’m not sure they’ll be able to trade up that far for him uh but they do have a couple of prospects that they like and might consider trading up for depending on how far they slide yeah does anybody like I I this is probably never gonna happen but it’s just a thought that came up do either you like collect enough or you consider 2031 no when you consider what trading 2031 to get up high in there no I I like kle um I’m eager to see how he translates to the NBA stage but that 2031 pick is the last first round pick that you can trade for a while so yeah until the 2026 Draft when your first round pick wherever that pick swap ends up is tradable that’s the last time you’re going to be able to attach a first rounder unless you make other moves to bring some in so I I do think that’s one that you really need to cash in on that value or just keep on now if you if you’re saying if you’re saying 2031 and you’re getting a guy like Tyler collect and this something else in that trade yeah then maybe but in a vacuum just one for one I’m not trading a first round pick for a second round Pig so say you get 2031 you get a a future first and and collect I would consider consider it yes I would yeah it depends on the first depends on yeah I would consider that I mean I don’t think they’ll do it but it’s interesting because you’re looking at vet minimum point guards that we talked about and trying to go okay would Tyler collect what he could do now and what he could be in the future is it better than what I’m I might be able to get there’s some things you got to weigh yeah here for sure I I don’t I’m guessing if they move up it’s into the into the 40s uh trying to find a guy 40 that they really like that they know won’t be at 56 but they want an opportunity that’s kind of when draft teams I don’t want to say that they stop carrying but but they stop valuing second round picks as much as they do leading up to 40 so I I think that that could be a possibility for sure so I I got I got 10 to 15 guys that I I still really like yeah um and so I’m going to be interested to see again like yesterday if it goes chalk and and maybe these next 10 picks if 10 of the 15 are gone then then it’s it’s not shaking out that way yeah maybe you have a sense of urgency to try to get but if you can get a couple guys that come out of nowhere that slide up into the next 10 first 10 picks and now you got some guys into that 40 range yeah I think it’d be smart for the Phoenix on to get on phone and I will say there are several teams that would make sense like the Pacers have picks at what 49 50 um and 36 I would be surprised if they use all three of those second rounders um I’m looking at I think the Raptors have 31 and 45 we know the Blazers had multiple second rounders the Spurs so yeah um something to keep an eye on especially Blazers and Spurs they had picks in the first round too so so uh they don’t have room for all these rookies not going to lie this is where it really hurts that you got that Tamp got hit with that tampering right yeah because you would have had that second round pick yeah potentially a little bit more you know ammo to move up in this but it is what it is at least we got the you know the whole getting punched in the face in the locker room story that entertained us for about 15 minutes that was that was well worth a second right I can’t lie we were excited when we got dreu Banks because he we thought he was going to be good yeah did then we found out they tampered and he wasn’t and so be it let’s uh we’re we’re just minutes away here from the second round starting so why don’t we take a look back at round one uh guys were there any real surprises to you in day one that kind of stood out with what happened a few honestly I mean I know everyone’s going to point to the Zach Ed pick uh being a shocker I think he was taken higher than I was expecting um the fact that Dalton connect fell as far as he did um the Aj Johnson pick was surprising to me but I mean outside and Isaiah colie are falling that far to 29 we didn’t really talk about that much because we were uh wrapped up in our own Joy over Ryan Dunn but that’s a that’s really great pick for them for him to fall to 29 especially for a team that kind of needed a franchise point guard moving forward I I think the biggest surprise to me uh if we’re getting off of like where people landed was uh what San Antonio did at 8 and how Minnesota was able to walk out of this draft with Rob Dillingham and teren Shannon Jr that’s really impressive and then again you guys we talked at Nim about it but I had collect at Tyler uh uh I’m sorry uh D kette at four on my board I believe ESPN had him at six the Lakers stumble into him at 17 that’s kind that’s kind of a shock um JJ was already drawing up plays right when they draft him and then I’m I’m going to give us some love I mean I didn’t I did not think that we you know coming in with 22 I did not think that we’d walk out of this draft with Ryan done at 28 and three extra second round I I just didn’t see that so uh I’ll give us some love I thought that was a bit of a surprise um again if you’d have told me a week ago Ryan done Ryan done at 28 and you’re GNA get draft Capital I’d have been like yeah get out my face so pretty good Baylor shinman at uh at the final pick there to the Celtics was that a surprise too like no did did the Celtics get a little bit better with that pick I hate that pick like he’s he’s a guy that can come in and have an impact and I know they have Sam Hower as a shooting Wing but I think he only has one year left on his contract so if they’re unable to retain him moving forward or if shyan just proves to be a better player like that’s another guy movement shooter um a guy with decent ball handling and playmaking chops as well like he’s just a very good connective piece and he fits exactly what they want to do in terms of getting up threes and being efficient while doing it so uh yeah I’m not exactly thrilled that they got him there at 30 and it makes complete sense why they took him yeah Rich get richer man I mean this team just came off an NBA championship they do a lot of things really well and they get a guy that can roll out of bed get on the court and hit a bunch of Threes for this basketball team mature can play right now so yeah I I was just talking to Shane on the way in Shane I think he said he almost threw up in the car when he heard the pick uh I was with I mean yeah that that sucked but uh yeah he really good basketball player you know two big takeaways from round one uh the French kicked our ass uh they really came in be honest they they came in big and then uh I saw this on Twitter I was talking with lindsy Smith about it beforehand uh to Alex s somebody said uh he looks like Caitlyn Clark and I now cannot get that out of my head oh man I cannot get it out of my head uh if you look at it you’re like oh my God you can’t unsee it I could kind of I can kind of see the resemblance so enjoy that I wanted everybody else to suffer with that the Toronto Raptors are on the clock uh 3 minutes to go with pick number 31 they’ll be followed by Utah and then Milwaukee so uh it’ll be interesting to see which one of these guys we thought were first round talents will go here to Toronto one thing I want to get in before uh we start talking about that though uh report is out there uh Eric Gordon is declining his player option so he will no longer be a phoenix son uh no surprise here right no we we were expecting this I think this had been reported already but now it’s more official I guess whenever a national person says um but yeah we we had been expecting this I don’t know that there was the same role for him moving forward that there was this season especially if you’re looking to try and add a defensive minded Wing maybe bring Grayson Allen Off the Bench between Booker Beal uh Grayson Allen and EG that’s a lot of shooting guards a lot of smaller shooting guards so you need some size Gordon Gordon was very inconsistent you look at the overall numbers he was third on the team in three-point attempts he shot about 30 % so he had a good year statistically but there was too much inconsistency there um I think he wanted a bigger role the Suns will have to replace his three-point shooting though they will have to find a way to replace a guy who wants to take that many threes and who can do it efficiently yeah I mean good for both sides I think I think it was time for the Suns to move on I think it was time for him to move on um yeah I I got it from communication that you know guys like Eubanks and Gordon were talked to about this early on in the process and it was very clear that probably wasn’t going to be as much as a role for those guys and so they they did the right thing for themselves again I’m gonna keep saying this guys I do think Damen Lee is gonna opt in and I do think that Damen Lee can do a good job of supplementing some some of the stuff that we’re losing with Eric Gordon just a couple years ago Damen Lee was one of the better three-point Shooters in the league I still think he can do that uh assuming he’s healthy and so yeah I think this is good news for both sides I think good for Eric good for the Sun how is Damen Lee at his jump passes and missing layups because that’s a key thing we’re now missing with Eric Gordon not on the Rost we have to truly evaluate that we have to trust him oh we got our first Gerald reaction the pick is in I kind of like this one for the Raptors uh Toronto is selecting Jonathan mogbo at number 31 in the draft this is a guy that I kind of liked um for the Suns I don’t I didn’t think he was going to fall all the way to 56 but he’s a playmaking Wing really big plus-size wing with his strength um he’s got an interesting skill set I think moving forward yeah yeah he’s a he’s a he’s just a athletic guy out of San Francisco 67 um I mean yeah this this guy’s intriguing uh I I don’t know I don’t quite know what he is yet in the NBA when you look at his film he’s kind of in that little tweener he plays bigger than his size uh but yeah interesting pick I did I had had him 11 on my board the fact that he’s the first guy off the board today again very interesting and part of what we’re talking about guy slipping I like this pick he fits Toronto he does that’s what I will say he fits freaking Toronto and they had already made a deal ear earlier today correct to get Davon Mitchell yeah from uh from Sacramento for Jaylen McDaniel so this is kind of their Jaylen McDaniel’s replacement he is good defensively uh has a seven foot two Wings span it’s the three-point shot that’s the problem um yeah but I I do like some of the the playmaking capabilities that he showed uh based on the film that I saw of him so not a bad pick for Toronto especially if you’re tra trading away Jaylen McDaniels agre agre are they doing this from the ESPN Studios I don’t know I didn’t I just realized that they’re uh it’s not the setup obviously they had last night uh Utah on the clock now at number 32 here in this draft uh the Suns have picked 56 Freddy I saw your question in the chat so we got a little while uh until we get to that pick uh there look what if if you’re the Suns what are you looking at what are you hoping to get obviously defensive athletic Wing was a big part of what they they wanted this off season are you at just best talent available when you when you get into a second round like this or are you still trying to look to to fill a need I don’t I mean I I still think like one defensive minded Wing does not even if he’s the best one in the draft in my opinion yeah doesn’t suddenly take that need completely away I think it’s less of a pressing need now in the draft specifically um but I do think yeah to your point like if you like a player it shouldn’t matter what position unless they’re a two guard because we got enough of those uh like if they’re a backup point guard you need that if they’re a defensive minded wing a playmaking shooting have enough of those you need that if they’re an athletic Rim Running Center definitely need that so I would love for a guy like uh Adam Bona to fall okay uh that dude’s athletic as hell super undersized but a defensive monster I don’t think he’s gonna fall that far yeah uh but yeah somebody no matter what you can’t really go wrong honestly yeah not at this not at 56 assuming they stay at 56 you take the best player available and you hope that he provide you know he fills a hole right um that’s kind of what you’re hoping for uh I’d like to the fact that we got some of the wing stuff squared away yeah doesn’t mean I wouldn’t take another Wing if he falls right but if I were prioritizing things I love to come away with a backup big that’s athletic that could put in some work and uh yeah if you can get a point guard yeah if you can get a if you can get a point and there’s some guys out there there’s some guys out there that I think are still very talented um that if they fall far enough some can get lucky here there are and we do have another pick in a guy that was high up on your board uh Utah is selecting Kyle filipowski at number 32 nice nice little draft for them KY here and filipowski another great fit for the team like filipowski fits I think what Utah likes to do um so yeah n nice pick um I’m glad he’s off the board because I think he’s definitely a first round pick and I had him as high as 15 so um just a guy that does a lot of good things knows how to play basketball reminds me of your boy MH little little Frank kamsky in them I mean they got they got three firstr grade guys in terms of Cody Williams who I really like yeah Isaiah Collier who has a ton of upside and now filipowski in the second round that’s a pretty good little draft if you’re trying to rebuild with youth there Danny a man not bad yeah I mean he’s been known to figure out a way to accumulate assets and whether he keeps them or he flips them like he did in Boston to wind up with the big three there uh he’s he’s pretty Savvy yeah with how to do that and build a team so Utah is certainly a team that’s on uh the come up uh you look at at Milwaukee now on the well will be on the clock at 33 as you know obviously for TV they let these sit a little bit after they’re after they’re in to try to go along with that I do want to give a disclaimer if you do not want the draft pick spoiled while you’re watching TV I would pause us a little bit because we’re going off of reporting TV they’re listening to us and they want the picks when they come I just want to make sure that everybody’s on the same page yeah we should give them the the disclaimer because some people do turn off their wo and Shams notifications during the draft just to watch the draft but if you are just watching the draft you’re probably not watching us not watching us hopefully you’re okay with us we just we got a couple comments yesterday so I wanted to make sure we’re all on the same page sitting here going I really need to hear the Deputy Commissioner read this guy’s name off in an ESPN Studio slander I mean there’s there’s no there’s no handshake I’m not seeing a kid uh cry I’m just seeing Mark Tatum walk up to an empty room and he is Pian and talk to a Mike yeah why don’t they just let Stephen A out some scream at it I feel like if they’re gonna do the second round on a second day they should have some of these guys in maybe not everybody but some of them yeah like a Philip was going to get drafted yeah why not like I they not hold on they weren’t there no no second round that’s just like Tatum in a studio somewhere is that right yeah he’s probably in in seacus in the uh NBA TV seus I don’t come on man who cares all right shout out to my homies and C caucus you know having Stephen A announced the picks is kind of funny because he’d be like future New York Nick Jonathan MBO 30 times I I hate I hate this pick the Knicks didn’t take him so he sucks let me be clear I’m reporting this guy sucks Kyle filipowski will be a Nick in 2031 yeah oh man Devin Booker come on yeah I’m good with Mark Tatum did you we don’t have to get too far into this but did you guys hear Stephen a double down yet again did saying uh I don’t care what he says like and and then goes they’re they’re not going to trade Deon Booker but I do know if if Devon ever leaves he wants to go to the Knicks like come on man just give up come on Stephen A yeah Stephen A man doubling down doubling down look I don’t know I like this pick for Utah Philip palsky really really good pick Great Value I mean you you’re right man they they actually having a really good damn draft yeah I mean he’s he’s not he was n high on my board for the Suns in terms of bigs that they could have added just because he didn’t really for me address what they need at that spot but I did like his game in terms of his ability to self-create he had some pretty nice dribble moves step backs uh things that you don’t really see many seven-footers do at the college level and then couple that with they got a wing and they got a point guard of the future and Collier at 29 like I I under there was a lot of speculation the Suns might Target Utah because they had 29 and 32 to trade down uh based on the draft that Utah’s having I understand why they did not do that yeah yeah they got they got good value and could this be kind of a setup like you know Utah’s always willing and dealing man Danny a so I mean does this pick uh put you in position to potentially later on look at a Lori marketing deal and you maybe got some guy that you drafted that could slide in and be his replacement and so you know you you always anything with Danny Ys you you kind of look at and you’re like huh what’s he thinking well I imagine too eventually Ryan Smith wants this team to to win right like I not not just build so is it is it something bigger do they try to uh get one of these disgruntled stars at some point not that not that Utah’s high on anyone’s list to go live in but you know it’s it’s interesting and and right now I think Utah’s had one of the one of the best drafts of anybody in terms of uh getting high quality Talent across the board even with those later picks so I want to remind you too if you want more Stephen asith talk because we’re not gonna go any deeper into it check out Southwest bias myself Bo Brock and The Man Behind the Mac Eric Ruby talked about all that today it’s right here on our YouTube channel so uh when we’re looking at it Milwaukee on the clock their time uh almost up uh anything that stands out to you in terms of what Milwaukee might want with this 33 33rd pick I hope it’s not Bona because that would be terrifying I don’t want him on that team that already has yanis there yeah um but yeah I don’t know why I’m feeling like a guy like clitman can go here he just it just makes sense I I think the pick is in is it Tyler Smith Tyler Smith smth is the pick so another uh 69ine forward from the g-league ignite team uh some of these kids kind of got hurt by going this route and going to ignite they uh they were a a failure let’s just say it like it is is that why a guy with this kind of talent could uh could slide that far yeah I don’t I don’t like I again I’m not a fan of this g-league thing um I I think these kids will be better served just going to college and and doing what they do but they make the decision it works out for some uh my boy Malik back day is is frustrated because this is one of his favorite players in the draft he loved Tyler Smith guy could shoot the heck out the ball um you know you I don’t want you to think of this guy right now because this guy’s body has changed and he’s become a different player at this level his career but if you go back and you look at a younger Julius Randle that’s kind of what I get from this kid this kid can really shoot the ball he’s really athletic I think he’s gonna be terrific I think he was a first round pick and yeah they just got Milwaukee just got significantly better because this kid has potential to be a Cornerstone guy he he projects as like a pick and pop big um he only shot 36% from three last year but he’s got a good stroke he’s got the you know footwork the skill set to be a good pick and pop big in that way um I think in a simplified role at the next level which I think is something that a competitive team like the Bucks can offer right away where he’s cutting he’s picking and popping he’s diving to the rim that’s going to simplify things for him and make him better um and he is a lob threat like he he will he will get up he will dunk on people um I think it’s the defensive concerns that hold him back the most in terms of reaching his NBA ceiling but for a second round pick that’s that’s pretty good value yeah damn good value it feels like a lot of teams have gotten better in this process uh not just not just with the draft but some of the trades that have been made yeah as well uh that’s the tough part about all this right is as much as the sun we want the Sun uh to to get better it’s not like everybody else is standing Pat and sitting there and what Minnesota’s done I like this pick for Milwaukee uh when you you know we talked about what Boston did with their pick this is this is going to be a tough off season I know I I know we’re of the belief that standing Pat trying to to run it back seeing what coach bud can do is is the right move but man this is going to be a a very difficult off season to try to maneuver and get better uh as these other teams are too I tell you what’s interesting about this off season that I don’t think it’s been covered enough but you kind of saw a little glimpse of it the other day and I think you’re GNA see a little bit more of it um there’s going to be some teams that are going to do them some things that are going to make you scratch your head and you know why because Koopa flag is really [ __ ] good yeah okay and so you saw the Nets kind of already wav the white flag and say okay we’re out we we know we’re not beating Boston we know we’re not competing uh let’s go all in let’s stink it up let’s get some contracts move and let’s give ourselves the best chance to be in the Cooper flag sweep Stakes there’s going to be more teams are going to do that and when you start to see these things happen you it’s going to start to make sense you’re say oh that team okay that team is willing to take this player normally they wouldn’t but they’re willing to do business because this is where their mind is and so I think that is something that could work in the favor of the Suns that is not being talked about enough but I think will eventually come to light in the next couple weeks as you see things shake out so um yeah it’s going to be difficult but couple things the Suns another thing the sun’s got to their advantage is I still think they’re Prime destination and I still think that people view this place as a place where hey I can go there and potentially win a ring play some with some really good players in a great place and kind of be the missing piece so that’s another good thing but it’s it’s gone teams are getting better man that’s that’s just the the reality of it yep one one team that we’re not sure if they got better the Portland Trailblazers they on the clock do we think Center again just had another one just Kidd they’re going to run five seven Footers out there unfortunately they’re all going to be Setters uh interesting they did take the center last night make some questions about uh where Time Lord is going to go where DeAndre Aton May wind up so interesting to see they’re picked 34 that means we’re 22 picks away from what the Phoenix Suns will do here looks like uh we’ll get you the pick for Portland here in a second this team confuses me I well so their uh I think it was their GM addressed that whole thing last night and was basically saying we’re not good enough to be worrying about overlap we want our guys to come in and compete uh May the best man win that type of stuff uh and we’re not drafting for need we’re we were just drafting best available player which I get to a certain extent but uh homie you got four centers now so what’s something’s got to give there I said it yesterday this is this is BS season the NBA and that is a whole truckload of it you don’t if you’re going to get fired real quick if your whole plan is I’m just going to pick a guy pick up the best talent but my roster is four centers and and a bunch of point guards like that none of it makes sense uh that’s how you get in a lot of trouble just ask Ryan MCD so but they don’t have like expectations to compete next year like they’re very much in Koopa flag right that’s that’s another thing like next year’s draft class is loaded I think they’re I think they’re doing the right thing in terms of we’re going to evaluate every bu if we like a guy like DeAndre Aton is not good enough or Robert Williams who’s always injured is not good enough for us to not take that player so I get it to a certain degree but you’re right I I do think at some point like you’re going to see one or maybe two of those centers on the move at some point which is not a good sign for da so the pick is in here for the Portland Trailblazers and a name that Phoenix Suns fans have liked a lot is no longer there Tyler K Wow the pi Portland which okay I get that you’re going best player available but you think that Portland’s gonna have to make some deals right because to your point the roster makes no sense so well because they have only guards and centers and they just drafted a guard and a center yeah well they did add Denny ABIA in the process and they did just trade Malcolm Brogden away so they got rid of one point guard they brought in another and they brought in a much younger one um so I I I like the pick for them but you’re right like there is a lot of overlap there at the guard spot there are a lot of things that they need to figure out um I think they had to make that trade with Brogden to just duck under the tax apron as a lottery team so uh they’ve got they’ve got some moves to make it moving forward sham is saying it’s New York via Portland oh so oh is this the was this is there a trade or was this part of I’m not sure I told y’all Tyler collect the Nicks knck I told y’all yesterday that is okay so so if this is if this is actually New York’s pick I’m not surprised I was hear I I just had this feeling collecting New York I was hearing some things yesterday I I said it I don’t know if this is true well it it appears that it’s that Portland traded the pick to New York which makes a lot more sense when we’re looking at it uh Marquette not Villanova but close enough uh Big East team yeah yeah they get a guy that I think will fit in pretty well with that group uh so all right the Nick get Tyler kak it’ll be interesting to see what they gave up there uh because we know they’re in a weird uh weird situation uh in terms of cap space everything uh draft assets after they made the trade for male Bridges earlier this week so uh what do you guys think of the male Bridges but trade by the way we didn’t talk about that much yesterday I love if for both sides I loved it for both sides I mean the Nets got a a ton of assets and they’re in a like I said where they’re tanking for Koopa flag and then the Knicks get a guy that makes a ton of sense man you got to know Nicks you got good chemistry you got continuity they’re knocking on the door um to get Mel Bridges I I think is a home run and then you resign o and and noobi so one of those deals that I think works out for both teams yeah I I like it a lot for the Knicks and people are going to point out like oh they had to give up so many first round picks well it’s dependent on your situ like first round picks don’t matter to this team when they’re very close to contending for the East and adding another Defender that you can pair with oan and noobi is gonna be terrifying yeah I like that for them a lot and and everybody’s saying well male sucked with the Nets everybody sucked with the Nets the last two years because they had no direction and I think putting him back in a role where he’s a second or third option instead of having to be the guy you’re going to see him take things that he learned from that month with the Suns before he got traded from the last couple years with the Nets and take them to a winning situation now and for the Nets good for them for finally picking a direction and capitalizing bringing in a bunch of picks uh aiming for that 2025 draft and Beyond because uh they kind of had one foot in one foot out in terms of what the hell they were trying to do so good deal for both sides yeah again the hopium oh my God so many picks yeah but you got a great player you got to well yeah I mean yeah I get that okay a very good player right I would say he’s a great two-way player for sure great fit in New York too yes so uh we do have the pick in at number 35 the Pacers are selecting Johnny Fury um the Spurs are up I know sham said the pace I think that might have been a mistake on Sha’s part because it is the Spurs pick unless we have another trade which he did not clarify so looks like Fury’s the pick at 35 Fury is the pick at 35 we’ll see if it’s Spurs or Indiana uh I wanted to a comment from Brian in the chat he says rip collect collective welcome in bronny Bros so there you go there we go uh Fury man um I I’m just not a fan of his game I we we talked about it recently uh I do think they got good value here at this spot but I I’m just not a fan of his game listen he shot 35% but the one thing I will say about Fury is he is the epitome of what I call streak shooter M okay he can go four for four one game and he go for four the next and so he’s that type of guy um I hate to say it but kind of reminds me a little bit of a guy they had last year that went way too high in Grady dick um I don’t know where he’s going right now I don’t know what the is this his first pick or Indiana whatever it is so it looks like the spur or they traded up one pick because now Shams is saying the Spurs are selecting uh Juan yunz at number 36 he fited them too and W says the Knicks are sending the Blazers future second round picks for Tyler collect which is how they got to 34 okay so I think that’s a different deal from what we saw yesterday so it only took future seconds huh inter second we don’t know how many though true that’s true I I I want to bring up an observation yeah again uh hardcore basketball analysis here I think this single-handedly may be the worst hair draft in NBA history worst hair draft I have seen some terrible haircuts on these dudes like just bad like when did the partial bow cut come back like I didn’t know that that was cool when did the haircut I had in Middle School come back I mean we we saw that last night uh as well like uh I interesting hair draft so suits too there’s been some weird suits it’s been bad suits so it looks like Jake fiser is saying Portland is Trading 34 to New York for three second round picks okay okay so it’s a good deal for New York they get a backup to Brunson there so yeah I I like k i i i i like the I to me it makes sense in New York and like I said he’s a big East guy he not quite you know like you said villain NOA but I’m sure they got people watching him and he uh Biggie’s played a year a couple years ago so yeah good basketball player some guy that I really liked I think he’s the best passer in the draft had a first round grade and he goes to the Knicks and the Knicks are doing some really impressive things right now I like what the Knicks are doing so uh really good job by New York when the last time we said that like two times in a row I know I know that’s crazy I mean that’s true but they they rework that front office theyve uh they’ve changed kind of the the trajectory of all that it’ll be interesting though no real I mean Jaylen Bronson is is knocking on the door of that being Superstar level but no real star Stars right and when you think of New York you think you know they always wanted to go for the big name The Carmelos the amar’s like they they went big game hunting now they’re going with build a build a real team with it and we’ll see we’ll see if it works it’s not a super team it’s Super Friends is what it looks like going on in New York and we’ll see if that chemistry and I think they one player was still I think I’m intrigued to see what they can do with Julius Randle I I don’t know I don’t know if he fits anymore right um so I think that’s the piece that you could probably utilize to to to add another player but no this is a basketball team they’re they’re beating you I mean they have talent don’t get me wrong uh Jaylen Brunson is terrific OG’s really good Mel’s really good Devon chenzo hard like these guys can play basketball but I think they’re beating you with a strength and numbers type philosophy I think they’re saying we have a team that has continuity we get along better we like each other more we trust each other more we know how to play together and we have a coach that has a style of play that fits us and we’re just gonna go out there and and and fight and Claw with you and and it’s working for them so it does fit New York man like I’ve been I’m from New York New Jersey I’ve seen a lot of these sry never heard that on this program I’m sorry yeah but but again I’m saying the scrappiness of this team fits New York City all right let’s take a look at the big board here uh as we’re you know we’re moving at a pretty steady Pace uh pick 56 is 19 picks away what are you seeing still left on your big board Flex that you’re liking well nun and uh Jonathan M those picks uh surprised me went a little high but listen Justin Edwards very good weal you know again uh chrisy from Minnesota can shoot the hell out the basketball he’s a guy that I think is very underrated in this draft KJ Simpson’s another one that can ball uh man there’s some guys a guy that people know here let’s talk about p a little bit P Larson shoot the hell out the basketball good size can shoot the basketball he’s going to end up probably on a on a decent team and he has a skill set that you can come in and he’s got an NBA body so uh there’s still a lot of good stuff on this board man I think if I’m the Phoenix Suns right now I’m kind of liking the way things are shaking out right now let’s Nunes perfect fit with the Spurs that’s where he’s going uh yes I think so yeah man I mean this is a guy that uh just makes some of the most incredible passes I’ve seen in in basketball plays overseas uh really good pass has a really good feel for the game absolutely fits the San Antonio Spurs I think that’s a really good pick we do have the next pick in at number 37 Detroit is picking Bobby Clinton damn that’s that trade I think was just made they traded from was it 53 I think to 37 today um so that is the Pistons pick now instead of what it was before which I believe was the Minnesota Timberwolves uh they had traded you seen him you like this 64 forward here huh you like you liked him in this I I love cman I love clitman I I think he’s again first round grade uh really athletic can do some really impressive things I think that’s wrong he’s not 6’4 he’s like 69 69ine sorry no yeah he’s he’s 69 610 depending on where you look I think 69 without shoes 610 with shoes uh again a guy that’s motor motor motor has a lot of talent can do a lot of unique things on the basketball court it’s gonna need a little seasoning uh but I think this is a steal he was a guy that I would have took in the top two or three in in this round so uh where’s he going uh he’s going to Detroit yeah so they get a nice pick yeah a solid Wing a potential floor spacing Big Y um the shot does look good and he’s pretty good in transition as well so not a bad uh upside play there or sort of upside he’s 21 so he’s not that old but yeah interesting uh to what Portland or excuse me what Detroit is doing Lots uh obviously lots of young Talent there that they’re trying to figure out they’re also a potential destination for teams looking to dump salary as well and I think they’ll be active in that uh throughout this off season because they’re in yet again uh transition here after moving on from Monty Williams and paying him the uh the national gross product of a small country right we do have a trade here nothing major but the Knicks are trading number 38 to the Oklahoma City Thunder uh so we’ll see who OKC really likes at number 38 that they felt the need to trade up for them it’s interesting that they moved off of seconds to get KCT and didn’t include this year’s 38 right so I mean I guess they oh uh oh yeah there’s it’s hard to keep track of who has what pick now everything’s swinging around it’s all right oh we knew this was going to be crazy y um who’s on the board right now so now it’s OKC because they just made a trade with the Nick so they’re on the clock at 30 pick and these guys now I’m worried because I am worried these [ __ ] keep walking away with good oh boy got Caruso recently they’re not going to take bronny at 38 right no I’m kidding somebody suggested Philly at 41 could go crazy and take bronny in hopes of luring LeBron C they got Max capace I will say that and they’re they do have a superstar in place that they could put like if LeBron were to leave that that could make sense as a destination but agree you guys still think that uh moving up in this second round would be advantageous to the Suns uh I’m not sure it depends on how far you’re moving up who you’re getting and what you’re giving up to get there to be honest with you because it would like if you if you trade back and add like three second round picks and then you blow them all to move up in the second round of this draft I don’t know if that’s the best way to accumulate assets here um unless you’re really getting someone you are 100% confident is gon to be a dude so yeah I’m I’m gonna be honest based on what I’ve already seen happen uh I’ve I’ve lost a lot of my enthusiasm to move up M um there’s still some very good players on the board but I think those guys could potentially slide to the Suns and so I I I will say this I would wait until around the 45th pick and then I’ll give you uh a better answer but until we get to about 45 and we’re 10 picks away uh right now I I kind of feel like the Suns could sit where they are and and still get a pretty good player um but yeah it depends on what these next five to seven picks look like what’s the guy you don’t want Oklahoma City to get here if you were looking at your board um I mean they need help at Center so again I’m gonna say Bona but I don’t I want nothing personal against him I don’t want him to go to a good team are you are you just going to keep saying his name it hopes that everybody forgets it doesn’t I’m trying the reverse of what happened last night with Tristan D Silva I mean Justin Edwards from Kentucky is a guy that I think has some talent and OKC just keeps finding good players and I’m going to continue to say it I do not sleep on Kentucky ball players um he’s an intriguing Prospect and then the guy you know I I’ll tell you another guy I mean Kevin McCulla from Kansas oh man all right so I liked this guy uh Oklahoma City is picking AJ Mitchell at number 38 AJ Mitchell yes I liked his game a lot actually Santa Barbara um does a lot of good things well MH uh I will say I little bit of a mystery there wasn’t anything in his game that I thought really popped on film for me but again I I think he does a lot of good things on the basketball court what do you see G what did you like about him I like him a lot because he’s a cerebral player like you see him just kind of conjure up these driving Lanes or these passing Lanes out of thin air because he’s very Shifty in the way that he probes the defense his lateral movements the deceleration ation like yes obviously he was playing lesser competition you see Santa Barbara uh still put up 24 and four on like borderline 50 40 90 shooting splits there um you know he’s got decent size uh for a point guard or a combo guard at 6 foot three uh I think if the shooting holds up at the next level I don’t know that he’s going to be able to create separation as well at that level but he’s just really smart and he’s good at kind of probing the heart of a defense so uh he has good instincts I would have loved for him to be there at 56 but it makes sense he’s going earlier than that yeah I mean Again Sam presty is really good so the fact that he got his hands on this kid uh tells me that I probably should watch a little more tape on him I mean like I said I I I didn’t it’s not that I didn’t like his game I liked his game a lot I just didn’t see anything that jumped out at me uh that was like whoa you know but again what Gerald is saying is not a woe thing it’s IQ It’s ability to see the floor It’s ability to probe uh so yeah if he’s got that with the tools he already has he might might be a ball player here can we stop praising Sam presty why because I blame him for this entire draft pick Obsession now because he he he’s been Gollum of the draft picks my precious I mean it’s working though it is like you can we can hate on we can I I I agree with you I hate on the idea that like we should be V like oh a team that’s been like the Nets for example they were bad they passed up on Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown because of the trade that they made and then they cap out as like a 42- win team and then they get the big three and that implodes and now they they didn’t know which direction to go in so it’s been like a decade basically with very little to show for it and now everyone’s like oh they’re doing a great job stockpiling picks well yeah because they have to now because they have no better option um but with prey in particular like they he hits draft that’s out of jealousy Gerald uh Michael how many you asking how many picks until the suns are on clock we are sitting at uh 17 picks away from the Suns being on the clock with my cck quick math Jake wants to know that these guys read chats you just got your answer there Deon good to see you in the chat as well uh there uh if you have other questions put them in there we’ll address them as we go along uh today for sure Memphis is on the clock at pick 39 yeah and we did get word about how the Thunder traded up to 38 they sent uh the number 40 pick and cash to New York to move up to get AJ Mitchell there so the Knicks are still with another pick they’re just yeah it’s impossible to keep track of what picks they have still at this point ly are like we’re just gonna keep kicking this can back further and further to the second accumulate a little bit more time I don’t blame them I don’t blame them uh 40 a little too rich for your blood to move up uh if the Knicks are looking to do it again I assume I mean it depends again if you only give up like one second round pick and you really like a guy then sure that’s that’s totally fine um but if you’re having to give up more than I think one of those extra seconds that you have now not for me well you can’t you you can’t because at that point you can’t make any other trades really if you give up these second round picks because you’re not giving up 2031 to move say an here little and I hate that that’s the name but the the reality is that’s the one got seven players under contract there’s only so many and the big three are out so that’s four and one can’t be traded till October so that’s three so it’s nothing personal you know Rody is a is a small contract so that’s difficult y uh and you’re not trading one of those guys without a second round pick tied to it if you want to get anything that’s going to help you at all uh yeah JM Fuente says is gotta buy a pick too you can’t yeah new rules do not allow you uh if you’re in the second apron to buy a uh to buy a second round pick so the only option here if you want to move up is to trade so yeah you cannot send out cash in any trade as a second apron team which in the past you would be able to just send a team cash and get their second round pick can’t do that anymore uh we do have the pick in at number 39 Jaylen Wells is going going to the Memphis Grizzlies there um so that’s something I guess I I I feel like people are hard on the Grizzlies just because of that Zach Edy pick um but I think Wells at this point in the draft is good value he’s a shooter um perimeter shooter movement shooter he shot nearly 42% from three last year on about five attempts per game um averaged 12.6 points and 4.6 rebounds at Washington State um so this is a decent pick for for them I don’t think anyone’s going to be gushing over their draft just because of the Ed pick but um I like him and they needed a center so I get it shout out to our teammate Saul Bookman uh in the chat uh as Eli said Saul joining us from the conol line on the uh cruise ship today and then uh where’s the other Buddha the skitso said uh he he I only replied to that guy asking if we replied to chats because Deon almost outed us uh for being AI so yes that is correct we’re super intelligent AI though we can react in real time so uh yeah so Flex the 39th pick Memphis Grizzlies took Jaylen Wells out of Washington State uh I’m not sure how high he was on your big board yeah let me I gotta go back and look at my big board here but that’s a seems like a little bit of a surprise so Anthony Chavez in the chat says I know Phoenix can’t buy a pick but can Phoenix trade their second and cash to move up no no cash no no cash involved can only be picks or players that the suns are trading uh they don’t pick player you can’t even aggregate oh yeah pick and player singular yeah can’t combine players can’t combine picks so that’s good at least Apple monster 28 saying hi from Italy the motherland for for my uh people good good to have you in here I forgot yes we’re both Italian here and flex is from New York New Jersey which is almost like being Italian so so we got I’m right New York New Jersey that’s where you’re from yes okay good to know yes we we do have the big board here jayen Wells he was 20 on your yeah could shoot the three ball could really shoot the three ball uh oh sorry G no you could there’s breaking stuff on the set that’s right yeah he can shoot he can shoot the ball this kid can shoot the ball um really good shooter good free throw shooter uh does some interesting things man actually this this is this is a decent pick this is going to who’s who who took them Memphis Memphis Memphis okay interesting yeah see it’s kick a shoot the ball he could definitely stroke it and he’s got good size too so Soul collector says the new CBA sucks we agree especially when you finally get an owner willing to willing to pay we’re not big fans of it I would love to hear from mat espia like directly like what do you really think of these of these new uh these tax aprons and all this stuff because they happened basically right as he was about to take over I’d love to hear from gms’s too like what did did who who actually wanted these is what I really want to know well I mean I know that the owners were gonna like Bobby Mark said this when he was on our show as well like they this was the line between a hard cap Y and something different which isum explain this to me why is this the owner saying we can’t control ourselves why did like why they we don’t want to spend okay then don’t like that’s the thing owners don’t don’t then but they’re also about protecting their egos as well so if other owners like a matad ishbia come in and are like yeah I’m gonna spend because I want to win yeah the other owners are going to look bad by comparison they’re going to get bad mouthed so it’s basically the most roundabout way to avoid having to spend and punish the teams that are willing to you know put out money to build a contender it’s kind of it’s it’s shitty timing for sure cheap uh AEL in the chat has a question for you Flex uh where do you have Kad Johnson on the big board or is he not on it at all oh yeah I think he was on it I got I got kha I mean uh he was 17 on your big board yeah 7 is he yeah 17 on the big board I actually saw this kid I went up to U OFA with Mr Bookman this kid physical as hell you went with me too you forget I was there you were there too no no no you kissed the flooor for God’s sake I damn sure did I damn sure did I damn sure did after yeah yeah I did I I damn sure did no no no he he’s very intrigued I love his body I love his body I love his energy I like his motor uh really strong kid that can do some really interesting things I like what I saw up close and personal and so I think this is a kid that could surprise I if if he ends up with the right team uh he he could put some work in yeah he’s he’s bulky for sure yes bulky yeah um just the upside as a Defender the ability to score on the interior uh he did shoot just under 39% from three on about two and a half attempts per game oh we have a we have a trade alert it’s been deleted oh it’s been deleted here but it Phoenix was involved yes Phoenix was involved what’s the rumor of the deleted oh now it’s back up Phoenix is picking Oso igodo at number 40 oh oh oh so nice I how what do we thinking of Oso igodo the other Marquette guy who’s going near the center Mar 611 you thought you thought you were going to Marquette point guard you’re getting a Marquette Center look at that hey this is in this is interesting man I mean this this kid he can shoot the ball good field goal percentage around the rim uh he could pass a little bit this is interesting I didn’t see this one coming 610 222 out of Marquette I mean wingspan is a little bit uh what’s his what’s his wing I know I made a note of his wingspan being a little bit of an issue for me um but hey this one’s intriguing this this guy is athletic he can do some things all right so let’s see here this is all happening on the fly so I’m just looking for my wingspan notes on this kid so they had to I’m guessing they had to give up 56 in order we didn’t have 51 so we we definitely had to give up 56 but else did they attach is a is a question here interesting 50 so the Knicks already had 51 right so yeah okay he’s a home he’s from Chandler too Hometown kid from Chandler uh my notes that’s where I had to double check I remember you know he’s a senior he’s uh he’s gonna be 22 years old soon uh in July uh the thing with him is he has a neutral wingspan he’s about he’s he’s 610 almost 611 but he’s got a 611 wingspan uh so that was one of the notes that I had on my on my not T-Rex arms though no no no neutral R fan uh this is interesting man this is interesting this is funny because we watch so much film on Tyler collect and and they wound up getting his pick and roll partner yeah pick and roll partner I mean and that’s the interesting thing G is when you do watch the tape on TI collect this kid pops all over the film his kid Pop’s all over the film he was basically the guy that KCT was hitting on most of his uh assists and and stuff at The Rim again 611 222 uh you know he can he can do some things with the ball G he can do some things with the ball that’s that’s some of the notes I had on him uh was you know for big man his assist ratio was pretty good so I I don’t mind this this is one of those swings you take and you need a backup big and so you might have gotten him hey he’s actually in the draft room too look at that although they’re saying he’s a Portland Trailblazer but we know he is a Phoenix Sun by way of Portland by way of New York uh now A Phoenix Sun I’ve been liking the the draft guide from our friends over at No Ceilings and they put him as a potential Wendell cter Carter Jr damont sabonis type so what was that say so No Ceilings one of the draft websites has him as a potential wend Carter Jr damont sabonis again when when I the the film I watched on him he can do some stuff with the ball like he’s not just this big that’s going to rim run he’s got some versatility he can do some things with the ball he can he can pass the ball he can put the ball on the ground so he’s he’s intriguing this is again I did not see this coming uh I did not see the Suns trading up to 40 um but I had them on my board and and I like what I saw and if you like if you saw the ti collect tape you see this kid pop all over the place so is this the rim running big that you were hoping Rim running big with a little more versatility though yeah what in terms of what let’s think in in terms of Coach Bud’s uh you know system how do you how do you see him fitting in in what coach Bud like to do I mean listen you know bud wants to stretch the floor he wants people that can shoot the basketball and again this kid this kid is very versatile um L I don’t I don’t want to say raw I don’t want to say raw um because I think he’s a little better than raw but I untap potential some things that I think that when you look at the tape there you don’t you you look at him and you’re like man there’s some more things that this kid can do potentially in the right system so I actually I don’t mind this pick I I don’t I mean it’s it’s it’s one of these things where you you got to hope that he actually reaches that potential so but I like what he can do off the ball so playmaking with the ball playmaking Rim finishing rebounding is kind of this kid’s calling card it doesn’t sound like Rim protection shooting is high on that list though what his strengths are yeah he’s not a floor spacing big um he is a little bit underz at 6′ 10 so that’ll be something to keep an eye on but the playmaking thing is interesting for sure yeah I’m trying to get clarification on how exactly the sun’s got to this point because 1 was owned by the Knicks so we’re trying to figure out they have to attach something but they can’t attach cash so it would have it’s probably one of the other seconds I would assume so but I’m yeah we’re trying to get clarification on this I I highly doubt that the uh that the Knicks are looking to absorb anybody else’s contract so to kind of reset here uh the Suns obviously yesterday uh were at 22 traded down to 28 and acquired the 56th pick in the second round and then also acquired two additional first round or second round picks as part of that today they were sitting at 56 they’ve now moved up to 40 which was originally Portland’s pick which was then traded to New York uh 56 has been traded to New York we’re trying to find out what else has gone to the New York Knicks so now uh the Suns have uh Wing Ryan dun out of Virginia and also igodo out of Marquette the center uh the 611 222 Wing uh excuse me center from Chandler Hometown kid coming back here to the valley Gerald once again you called it you told us at the beginning of the show look for them to trade up in this round you told us last night right uh to look for them to trade down you’ve been right on the money here yeah well I’m getting I haven’t gotten the details on how they got there but I do know that this was the guy that they wanted I I can confirm that this is the guy that they wanted to get and they were able to get him at number 40 uh we’re still figuring out what they had to give up to get there the details are a little unclear at this point in time um but he’s one of the best passing bigs in the country that’s what I see so that is that is an that’s an asset for a team that could use more of that um behind Yousef nerkish because as We Know Drew EU Banks last year catch the ball in the short roll kind of short circuit like we were used to seeing with da a little bit there um so I I’m I I want to dive more into his film before I I speak and say things that aren’t true about him uh but I do know I can’t tell you that the suns were high on this kid and they’re pretty happy with what they’re G to get at number 40 here yeah again uh his ability with the ball he’s a guy that in the dribble handoff spot setting screens getting the ball up top not going to be afraid to put the ball on the ground create offense attack the basket hit a shooter hit a bounce guy so again what I saw on film was a guy that had versatility in that spot I don’t know that it’s the it’s the hes that we were quite looking for I think we were looking for more of a rim rolling big that can block shots and play defense and do those things they kind of went with a big that’s a little more versatile offensively they could do some things so I this one I got I got to dig a Little Deeper now well I have to I guess it kind of makes sense I wonder how much coach Bud was was involved in the evaluation process because maybe he saw something in this kid that he thinks could fit in his offensive system uh I want to take a second here uh to tell you about our friends over a chicken pickle you want to talk about fitting in a system these guys fit into uh day two draft Extravaganza uh the suns were at 56 they moved up to 40 to take a center out of Marquette named Oso igodo I don’t think I’m pronouncing the last name right but so be it I’m just uh uh practicing it for the first time he is now a member of the Phoenix Sun so the sun’s got the wing that they wanted the defensive athletic Wing that they wanted in the first round and Ryan Dunn and now they’ve gotten Oso in the second round still trying to figure out the entirety of uh what is going on in terms of the trade package that was giving was given up but I think this pretty easily ends the pursuit for one bronny James unless something weird happens in this draft but as Gerald reported this was the kid that the suns were targeting here the Marquette Center is the the kid that they wanted uh when Gerald was talking earlier in the program about the Suns moving up in this round and they got their man again I’m very intrigued with this kid because offensively he can do some things um I’m a little bit off on again the fact that I don’t think he’s the defensive guy that we were looking for but he’s intriguing offensively man he can he can do some things in the post to dribble hand off put the ball on the ground he’s good around the basket uh yeah they must see something that they really like in regards to what bud is gonna you know do at that level with the talent that we have so I’m intrigued uh I I definitely have to do a deeper dive I don’t want to say something about this kid without doing a deeper dive uh but they got their guy right and that’s what you want to do if you if you if you’re in a draft and you target a guy and you can get him that’s a significant move up I mean from 56 to 40 it’s a pretty big jump so it’s sounding like they gave up their uh 2028 protected second rounder I think that was protected 31 through 45 uh from the Boston Celtics that’s what they traded to get the 51st pick from New York and then they traded 56 and 51 56 and 51 yes to move up to 40 and take Oso all right so they gave up what amounted to two second round picks uh in well not amounted to they gave up two second round picks right uh to get here uh so they traded their 2028 second rounder to get the 51st pick in this draft they packaged it with the 56th pick that they picked up yesterday and they get their man at number 40 this has been an an insane second round in terms of Trades and I imagine this is exactly what the NBA wanted when they moved to two days because you’re not getting this amount of movement if teams didn’t have 15 hours between rounds to try to figure out a plan and make some of these phone calls yeah that’s interesting so I mean that that Boston Celtics pick didn’t have a ton of value given that it was protected for the first 15 picks of the second round um so yeah to turn that into 51 and then to turn 56 into 51 5 56 and 51 into 40 that’s pretty good value to me honestly I’m I’m a little we keep saying 50 so this so the they had they had 56 and then they had this 2028 second rounder from the Boston Celtics that was protected 31 through 45 so that was in 2028 I believe so they packaged that 2028 pick that the Celtics owed them plus number 56 uh or they pack they sent the Celtics pick to get number 51 and then they packaged 51 and 56 to move up to got you got you got you okay so so in theory we did have 51 and 56 in this draft so they they only for a brief moment for a brief moment in time for the briefest moment in time we didn’t know existed they had the 51 and 56 and moved up to 40 interesting though because this kid again this kid’s not a shooter so this is not a floor spacing a playmaking big playmaking rim Runner uh and again to your point not the greatest uh defensive Center so what this says to me is you’re probably looking at trying to find a more defensive minded or a stretch uh big in in free agency that starts on Sunday yeah you need I think for oo like the playmaking I think he’s a well-rounded switchable Defender I think the rim protection is something that you would ideally put him next to another shot blocking big um so you still need that you still I do think Oso provides that Rim running lob threat yeah he does um but in terms of like Rim protection I don’t know maybe they see something we don’t or maybe they have something planned for free agency but I do think that’s still a need at that spot and what I what I like about this is this shows me you don’t make this deal move up to 40 if this kid isn’t part of your plans oh no and so you know we see it all the time second round picks are not even guaranteed to be on the roster I think this kid sticking around yeah so I I like that by the way Saul wants to know if this goes sideways this draft can you say that the suns are Oho done you absolutely can s I’m so proud of you how drunk is Saul on this he’s punning now he’s got to be feeling good to be making those puns wow we are you know what he actually went to the all the effort to uh put together a video from the boat so so why don’t we why don’t we throw it to somewhere in what ocean I don’t know and saw Bookman with his thoughts on on uh Ryan Dunn from last night hey guys uh it’s been a while uh you guys are doing a fantastic job I just want to give you my two cents on what happened yesterday listen I think Ryan Dunn is a fantastic player my only concern is are they going to be able to develop him enough on the offensive side uh to be able to make sure that he can stay on the court and actually be beneficial uh my hopes are high for this uh new regime and with uh bud so we’ll see so I’m not going to knock the kid uh defensively immediate player and and I love that so uh regardless of what ESO thinks about my fits which are always fire uh you guys uh have been fantastic and I really appreciate everything you’re doing hope all is well uh Drake’s house is apparently right around the corner over here somewhere yeah anyway uh so yeah we saw that I saw SE turtles yeah it’s fun out here see you okay so he didn’t see Drake’s because Kendrick burned it down already so man here we go you saw sea turtles though yeah hey sea turtles I saw glad you’re enjoying I like the shades I’m glad you’re enjoying your vacation uh out there even though you’re working in some uh small capacity so thank you for sending your thoughts H since we went I’m going to recap one more time because people in the chat are like wait the sun’s picked so full recap yesterday again they were 22 they trade back with the Nuggets they pick up 28 where they select Ryan Dunn they also picked up the 56th pick in the second round and two additional second rounders today they traded 56 and 51 which they acquired by trading their 20 28 second round pick to the to who was it at 51 the Nicks Nicks Nick so then they trade the they 56 and 51 to Portland to get to 40 or or who was at no I think that didn’t the Knicks had they moved to0 so the Knicks okay so they traded basically essentially 56 and the 2028 to the Knicks I don’t know again I okay do they the Knicks had traded and had 40 and they already had 51 the Suns traded with the Knicks their future second round for 51 and then traded 56 and 51 back to the Knicks back to the Knicks so the Knicks got 51 after all back to the Knicks to move up before picking up the Celtics pick in the process and do we and we still have the two extra from Denver future right sure we do we do two extra from future the or uh the 2026 pick and the 2031 second rounder from Denver those are both still in the sun possession the Suns still have their first round pick um so basically what they did was they took this Celtics pick that’s protected for the first 15 picks of the second round of the 2028 draft they turned that into 51 they packaged 56 and 51 to move up 11 spots okay okay and then they selected Oho I’m not trying to pronounce the last name again as IOD from Marquette the 611 Center who is a guy that is a rim roller a playmaking big some have compared him to wend Carter Jr or Damonte sabonis I think those are ceilings right there not not expectations out the gate so I want to move take a step back Ryan Dunn that we heard Saul talk about we also got our friend Tim legler of the all NBA podcast to share his thoughts on Sun’s first round pick Ryan Dunn last guy I have for you is Ryan Dunn to the Suns at 28 they also got three second round picks that was the trade they made with Denver uh swapping 22 for 28 so they get three second round picks which they kind of need because they don’t have a lot of levers to pull to add guys to their roster so they need some of these spaces uh but they get Ryan Dunn who’s a one of the best defensive players I’ve ever seen he goes to a team that has plenty of offense so how is this fit I’m telling you right now and I’m not you know people flip out when you use comparisons or analogies or drop names who they remind you of when I was and I didn’t see a ton of him during the regular season but I watch a lot of film on him he reminds me a lot of stuff he does on the court defense it reminds me of Scotty Pippen that that’s that’s that’s what that’s what I think when I watch him play defensively I mean he’s just lightning quick from point A to point B just great extension length and timing and like it it it reminds me of Scotty you know and Scotty when he first came into the league wasn’t much more than that all that stuff Scotty added offensively that came later and as a result he saw what it led to in Chicago when he when he elevated his offensive game to that point but that’s not what Scotti Pippen was when he came in and I know look I know he’s not a very good shooter and you don’t know what you’re going to get out of him offensively early let’s see how hard he’s willing to work and what can he add some some parts of shooting a basketball Adam are innate you are born with so you don’t know it’s it’s a lot more than just saying oh he’s got to work on it well it’s some guys work on it a lot they never get there because some of it is depth perception and feel and and that’s just something that’s kind of way you’re wired we’re going to find out you know but can he put in the work can he put in the work like you know a guy like Ki Leonard did to to improve that much offensively from the time he came into the league Paul George was mainly a baseline slasher when he came into the NBA now look at him I’m not saying he’ll be any of those things but that’s what we’re GNA find out but I know this defensively immediately this dude is eye popping what he does defensively in the ground he covers and and the length he has at the small forward spot really really really impressive and his motor and want to to do it so Ryan Dunn eye popping defensively and then and the name Scotty Pippen who leg played against came out of his mouth okay so I mean again you don’t want to go too crazy but your comparison to Shawn Marian doesn’t seem extreme when you got a guy saying Scotty Pippen you know what I mean he mentioned Paul George he mentioned kawh leard defensively this guy Gerald pointed this out yesterday there were reports that Gerald read Scouts people evaluating stuff that said this guy is one of the highest guys they’ve ever evaluated defensively and so when you start hearing this and this is a guy Tim legler who played in the league who played against Scotti Pippen and knows what he’s looking at uh yeah this is why the Ryan Dum pick is so good because again you can work on the offensive stuff but that stuff you’re talking about potentially generational defensive Talent we hear this all the time people say this guy’s a generational Talent uh there’s two sides of the ball there’s offense and defense some people get really fixated on the offense but I I tend to always look at both sides and I think that if you’re a generational defensive player uh you can play in the NBA and you can play a lot of minutes and I don’t buy in or subscribe to a lot of people I heing yesterday saying this is going to get played off the floor because if you’re that good defensively you find a way to stay on the floor Brian Herrera in the chat says wow never thought I’d hear a done compared being compared to Pippen which you know what of any of the guys that that I’ve talked to that I’ve worked with and worked with legler for a little while here the man knows his ball this guy from this he’s not just a talking head he’s not bloting he’s a guy that understands the game and obviously we should point now it’s on the defensive end offensively Pippen was like a point forward before that was really a thing in the NBA Dunn doesn’t have the handle to do that or the playmaking to do that but defensively if that’s what you’re getting I mean that would be incredible Tim legler a smart basketball mind saying something like that Keith Smith another one on Twitter said Phoenix getting Ryan Dunn and Oso gadara is so good those might be the two best defensive players in the draft and the Suns can keep things simple for them on offense run the floor roll hard cut and finish around the rim so I mean there are it does feel like they’re targeting a specific type in terms of offensively like just go to the rim just cut just you know create movement off of our big three defensively we will trust what you’re able to do being switchable being able to guard so many different positions um and defense was something that they needed in this draft do you think that this may be a sign that we know what we’ve seen in Milwaukee with Coach bud but do you think this could be a sign that maybe he’s going to tailor his offense a little differently than the five out kind of system we saw in Milwaukee and that because these two guys not you know three-point Shooters but really great at rolling to the rim uh you know and doing those a more athletic kind of things it makes me wonder if if that the offense gets shifted a little bit from where we thought it might wind up so so interesting there I’m going to try to pull up here and uh kind of recap where we’re sitting here in the draft as uh it’s been a crazy second round uh as I try to pull up the board here but you know I think I’m pretty happy with where the Suns have netted out uh so far and they’re likely not going to wind up back on the clock in this draft I don’t imagine but uh it’s been interesting so far I’ll run you through where we’re looking at a first pick in the second round uh Jonathan mogbo Kyle filipowski second Tyler Smith went at 33 uh Tyler KCK which Suns fans liked a lot uh went to port or went to New York via trade uh there at 34 uh Johnny Fury at 35 Juan Nunes at 36 Bobby Clinton at 37 AJ Mitchell at 38 Jaylen Wells uh at 39 oo agod daro to the Suns at 40 uh Adam B Bona went to the 76ers at 41 KJ Smith at 42 uh excuse me KJ Simpson uh at 42 to the Hornet Nicola another Nicola uh to uh to the heat there uh Nicola dusich so that pick got traded to the Hawks okay so the Hawks and the heat picked next okay so 43 for him uh 44 Pelle lson out of Arizona uh and then Jamal Sheed at 45 so that’s where we stand in this draft right now uh there’s a question in the chat from animal TV that said name me a rookie that had a significant impact on a playoff team last year uh Derek Lively Jr the center for the Mavericks right who was what was he Rim rolling a rolling athletic guy yeah so I yeah uh again yeah I’m I’m I’m I’m sorry I’m getting Texas about alsoo I’m I’m getting some information um but yeah I mean defense wins championships they still do and it looks like the Suns uh are focusing on fixing that end of the ball when you got Devin Booker Kevin Durant and Bradley Bal um you’ve got a ton of of offense and I don’t think again we didn’t shoot the ball the three-point ball nearly enough this year no but um I want to say that going into basketball games I wasn’t really worried about whether the suns were gonna be able to score I was mostly worried about whether the suns were going to be able to keep an opponent under under 110 and you add two guys that can really help in that area they’re young to Tim luga’s point and to Gerald’s point about the Scotty Pippen thing again that’s on the defensive end but also to Tim’s Point Scotty didn’t come in with the skills that we seen him leave with at the very beginning he wasn’t that point forward guy he wasn’t very polished on the offensive end took a little time and he evolved into that so anything is possible well we we actually you and Lindsay caught up with Drew hanin uh one of the Premier uh trainers in basketball and he talked a little bit about how a player who maybe may not be the greatest jump shooter can actually become much better as he moves along through training I’m gonna bring up another Tyrese that I know you worked with uh Tyrese maxi so the the Suns have a guy in Ryan Dunn that they seem to be targeting uh small forward out of Virginia fantastic defensive play high motor a lot of the intangibles but his biggest issue is shooting the basketball he shoots 20% from three and 53% from the line um how do you fix that man I know you helped Tyrese Maxi go from 29% to you know NBA Allstar how do you how do you fix something like that yeah so the first thing you do is you want to basically work with what is working and you know so I always start at the top of the release and see if they have good hand positioning on the ball at the re release if they do then it’s pretty simple if you don’t then you have to kind of start over from scratch because their hand positioning is the most important thing um after you get that then you work on the release you know just consistent follow through making sure that the ball is rolling off of the you know the pointer finger and the middle finger so that you get good Back Spin then after that you work on the lift point that way you can get a straight shot and then after that you work on connecting the lower bar upper body so that you can expand your range and have good fluidity regardless what type of shot you’re shooting the thing that I always look at is do they have things that we can start with and tweak instead of having to scrap so you look at a guy like Jason Tatum for instance he shot 34% at Duke from three but he had a really good release point and so in the pre-draft process what we were doing is we were working on lowering his pocket so that he had more Arc more Arc means more room for errr because the drop angle improves and then Jason shot 43% his rookie season you know and so that’s a great example of he already had a a good release point you know so we were like oh all we got to do is just fix the the you know the kind of the set point um there’s other times where we’ve had to completely start from scratch and that’s just a longer process the other thing to take in consideration is the longer somebody has identified as a non-shooter the harder it is to get them confident enough to shoot in games you know there was a guy that I worked with my first NBA player that I ever worked with was David Lee and David was a two-time Allstar you know and he also won a championship but when we saw the game evolving you know he played when the power forward was a power forward that’s when it was Zack Rand Blake Griffin was banging around and and Kevin Love before he shot threes and you know you had all the the gasal brothers and like that was what it was it was all you know mid poost and banging inside Hooks and and little fadeaways it was not you know space forward and when we saw the league kind of you know transitioning to more fourman being stretched forward we started shooting threes and in workouts he would make 80% of his threes wow I mean 80% and it was fluid it was natural mid-range even in games he was an assassin you know what I mean he would never miss his mid-range shots he was that’s what made him an All-Star but what we saw is he there was a reluctancy to shoot threes because he never identified you know himself as a three-point shooter and it was almost two late in his career and so what you need is you almost need a little bit of uh Fool’s Gold of guys believing that they’re Shooters even if they’re not going in so that once they do develop the right you know proper mechanics then they have the willingness to to shoot them with the same confidence that you know somebody that’s growing up a good shooter would have so it sounds like there is a path for for guys that aren’t great Shooters to start with the really find it now one thing I want to ask you Flex though because he talked about you know some guys don’t have mechanic problems they just lack confidence and they and they’re not shooting well you’ve looked at Ryan Dunn’s tape you’ve broken it down you’ve been in the lab with that for a while now when you look at his shot are there mechanic issues mechanic issues in in the way he shoots or do you think this is something that may be a little bit more uh confidence yeah I think I think it’s it’s confidence I think it’s situation I think it’s the the team he was playing with I don’t see mechanical issues I don’t I don’t see an extreme hitch again I’m going to talk about balance I’m going to talk about your eyes I’m G to talk about your elbow I’m gonna talk about your feet when I’m looking at this kid shoot I don’t see anything that jumps out at me that’s like wow that needs to be fixed there’s no extreme hitch uh foot placement seems right the follow through seems good he lets it Go High I mean I just I just don’t see it so I it’s just it’s blowing my mind man it really is like I’m a shooter I i’ I I’m gonna I’m a shooter guys I’m a guy that shot the basketball a lot I worked with people on shooting I’ve did shooting clinics I mean this is this is this stuff can be fixed this stuff can be taken care of um it’s not easy it takes work but this idea that this kid can’t come in and fix his jump shot with more reps and proper coaching and com confidence and the right system it actually blows my mind and it it’s a little frustrating sometimes because uh again you got to look at the totality of what was going on in that Virginia offense just look at the Virginia offense you know I I’ll tell you one quick thing G and and espo I was talking to Damon earlier when I played I again I’m a shooter I I I I didn’t there wasn’t a shot on the court that I was uncomfortable taking but I had a coach that would be like yo man I I don’t want you taking shots that are behind the line too much I want you to towal line on every shot okay that changed my psychology on the court because I’m like listen I got this space between Defender I know I can pull up and take this shot but I got this coach in my ear telling me he doesn’t want nobody taking those shots he wants us to tow the line and play a particular way um that that happens in basketball so I believe that if you give Ryan Dunn the opportunity um to spread his Wings a little bit and entice him to take these shots a little bit more his shot is very correct I I understand that and the jump shot and that thinking but free throw shooting it it was abysmal at Virginia yeah what do you attribute that to because to me that that’s more mental right when you’re at the free throw line or you know like is that how do you explain that because we we’ve done a lot of comparisons we’ve talked about a lot of guys who couldn’t shoot real well in college that improved but in most of those cases they were much better at the free throw line yeah I mean Gerald we talked about this earlier an indicator that you can shoot the three ball that you can correct your three ball is the first thing you do is go to the free throw line if a guy can shoot free throws his chances of being a good three three-point shooter uh you know enhance a little bit um in Ryan Dunn situation again I I I don’t know that I I I don’t have have it in front of me I don’t know how many attempts he took at Virginia from the free throw line but again earlier in the year I was looking at some stuff and I know he was up to 71% at one point at Virginia earli in the year and then it kind of flamed down towards the end uh but when I look at him shooting free throws I don’t see anything that jumps out of me as to why he’s missing these free throws is it confidence is it mental it could it could be a little bit of all that does he rush it does he rush it right there there’s a whole bunch of that what do you think J uh yeah I look I I think our expectations should be tempered on the shot but like you said I don’t think it’s something that can never get better um and it is worth pointing out that like on the free throw thing he was taking 2.3 attempts per game uh took 77 total over his 34 college games so we’re not talking about a huge sample size there um you want that number to be a lot better obviously for sure and I’m not sitting here like it is a concern for me the shooting component but I do think there are other ways that you can impact the game and there are there is a path we’ve seen NBA wings that didn’t shoot well in college even ones that didn’t shoot well from the free throw line improve as they went along um so I don’t know we’ll see Lucas La Fontaine in the chat is saying poor Gerald having to work so hard I your computer is about to be smoking as it’s phone uh you know what you deserve though you deserve a little break after this you must be 21 and over to enjoy and please enjoy responsibly Gerald what is the news around the NBA right now yeah I think I just saw the Denver Nuggets are trading Reggie Jackson to the Charlotte Hornets for three unprotected second round picks interesting so could could could Reggie get bought out and be a uh vet minimum option maybe I I thought I mean he was interesting because he has the player option so did he already opt into oh he did already opt into that so yeah so they could buy him out and put him he was on my list of Veteran free agency point guard and like I mean he older now he’s not as good as he was but he’s still a steady option A shooter a scorer um and someone that can run an offense Off the Bench so something to keep an eye on if the Hornets aren’t really interested in keeping Reggie I mean would it make sense for them to I mean I just don’t know why you would give up second round picks to buy out that’s that’s kind of weird a player like you gave up three there’s a follow-up tweet where W changes one word and says Denver is trading Reggie Jackson to Charlotte with three unprotected second round picks okay that makes more sense then the graphic on the on the screen says Reggie Jackson I think they need to update that because W just tweeted that like two minutes ago okay so that makes more sense and then Reggie Jackson being bought out would make sense in that case because you get three second round picks that are unprotected and then you can just let the guy walk right yeah uh so that could be an option that’s a it’s a good transition here uh we’ve seen what the sons of done in the draft they got their defensive Rim rolling uh Center and they got their defensive athletic uh Rim rolling Wing we’ve talked about what free agency could look like we’ve got the the legal tampering period open Sunday at 3M Arizona time is is backup point guard your main focus a word one in that for I don’t know man I feel like for me it might still be the center spot but I you do need a backup point guard and I think maybe backup point guard for me is not as big of a focus to start free agency just because there are multiple solid options that you could go out and get just to stabilize things when Devin Booker Bradley Beal Kevin Durant are staggered um but yeah backup Point guard’s a big need I still think defensive wings are a big need um and an athletic you know shot blocking Center to give you a change of pace from nerk would be good to have as well yeah I I still think uh all those all those things are very much needed I probably lean towards the backup big I think the point guard Mark is going to shake out and you can get a back a point guard um but again I I I I just think you still need you can never have enough wings so uh on my list I would go back a big back a point guard and if another Wing you can snatch up is I I mean I know we’ve gone through this experiment on Mondays with the vet minimum Mondays but is there a big that on a vet minimum stands out to you and I know I’m putting you guys on the spot I like to do that uh that that stands out to you that could be available or do you think now that you’re equipped with a couple second round picks maybe you try to find that in the trade market and not necessarily you know in in B minimums like we talked about Nick Richards for for a nasier little and some second round picks H you know do you look that route too I would still like that I mean a guy I’m still paying attention to is Kayon Looney um they they picked up that option I think they’re guaranteed his salary yeah so they they they picked that up but they I I think that’s more about being able to package him deal yeah so I think they picked up the 8 million they guaranteed it I think they’ll probably move on for him some package and then that the team that does get him might buy him out and so that can probably shake out our way any interest in Weissman who is going to become not really man same here not really no not for me not for me either D I know you’re you’re talking athletic but do you need a pick and pop big I mean is is that what you also need to be thinking here because you didn’t address that at 40 with Oso so yeah I mean is that where you go too yeah you you could definitely look at that and I think we’ve talked about this before buen holer is used to having a floor spacing Big Al Horford Bobby poris Brook Lopez during his last couple of stints so giving him someone who could knock down a three reliably would be good but I mean I’m trying to think of the free agency vet minimum centers that we talked about there’s not a ton that can knock down threes the homie yeah but then you’re under sized and you don’t get that shot blocking element that you kind of need so it you might have just have to pick which one of those two things is more valuable because I don’t know that you’ll be able to check both those boxes at once yeah yeah well we are pick 50 uh Indiana sitting there uh still no bronny James so no still no had some questions uh about undrafted free agents right and if the suns are allowed to sign them with these uh restrictions that are on them yes they are and the interesting thing with unrestricted free agents as well or excuse me U undrafted rookies not unrestricted free agents undrafted rookies the interesting thing is you don’t have to stick them in some kind of slot it doesn’t necessarily have to be a two-way you can basically sign them uh first round deal if you want to whatever the deal tends to be the problem is the suns are in Capell too yeah that is a problem we we did get an update here from Bob Meers on ESPN uh he said that rich Paul is telling teams not to draft bronny James and that if they do he will play in Australia so I’m trying I’m hey I’m trying listen so they basically saying Lakers stay away I will I will say this and we talked about this before we came on the show I had a call this morning I I still feel like the preference for Rich Paul and the bronny James Camp when forget LeBron I’m just talking about bronny James the player nothing attached to his father M I still think that the preference would be for him to land with a team like the Suns so what we’re see I mean in all likelihood if he doesn’t go 55 yeah he could very likely or excuse me to the Lakers that that that’s them and Phoenix who we worked out for he could be an undrafted uh free agent to Phoenix yeah and it’s hard to read into that because there’s it’s either posturing or he’s dead serious about like a don’t draft him at this point we’re gonna play in Australia B we’re not doing a two-way he was rich Paul was very adamant about that so um as much as I do think yes the Suns need to be active in picking up looking at undrafted free agents because now you have a g-league team that you can bring these guys in possibly develop them put them on a two-way um I don’t know it feels very uh dead set that like look we either don’t want the Lakers to draft us or we don’t like we’re not doing it two-way those are the things that stand out the most to me with the I’m interested to know with the cap restrictions with the second apron none of that applies to how you handle these undrafted free agents does it not unless you wind up signing them to a roster spot I don’t think um and at that point it would be like a vet minimum type deal um I believe but so you couldn’t you you couldn’t draft or you couldn’t take an undrafted free agent and give them the equivalent of a two three guaranteed you don’t have cap space I mean I think you can but it’s four of that minimum we’d have to look into that because it’s been a while since we’ve even had to worry about that but um like what the Suns did with J right right that was that was they gave him the equivalent of of first round you MH worked so well too it didn’t but hey he won the sun’s rookie dance off at open practice okay I remember that baby Westbrook as Lindsay says in the background uh well it’s it’s It’s tricky because I know that if you draft like a second round player you have a certain exception to draft that player and you can you give them a three or four year contract um but that doesn’t count against the cap until July 31st according to Bobby marks so the other option is signing a player to a two-way contract cap space an exception which the Suns don’t have or the vet minimum um so they don’t have cap space they don’t have an exception so it would either be a two-way contract or a vet minimum and he’s not a vet well no but there is Ming messing around minimum but you could offer a multiple years on a minimum salary in theory I think you can do two like one plus one something like that yeah be to me it it’s interesting because you would at that point get a young point guard that could potentially grow they’ve gotone very defensive minded here would you Wa Would you utilize a roster spot on that chance if you’re sitting in Josh blein and James Jones’s seats I would I would without without any of the bronze stuff I would I would it’s just it’s just one of those one of them swings that you take I mean again this kid got a lot of work to do this is a project this kid got a lot of work to do but um the chance that you might have something the genetics the fact that he’s around LeBron James his whole life and knows the game of basketball and has a high IQ and could grow into something the chance that something down the line can evolve through this you you yeah I take the chance just undrafted free agent absolutely I take the chance how so just as an undra are you talking two-way or you talking full roster spot I would not I can’t not at this point especially because if you had only taken one rookie I’d get that maybe but you already have two rookies coming in that are going to have to adjust to the NBA game speed length of the Season all that stuff and prove that they can be contributors I I think they have a good chance with both of these guys uh to be able to contribute in some typee of role but you only got 15 spots and we’re running out of them quick in terms of you had seven guys under contract L Royce O’Neal makes eight uh if Damen Lee and joshu Josh aogi are back that’s 10 two rookies 12 like what are you GNA do back though with dun yes well I mean I I don’t know for sure but I I don’t they play different positions they’re not they’re not the same player I it’s going to be tricky because I don’t know that you can put both of those guys on the court at the same time together just because of the lack of floor spacing there uh maybe it changes the equation I’m wrong but could could you move Nas a little could you just move Nas a little if that were if that were a crunch where you talking about one spot yeah that’s one that that’s one of your few trade assets though too so ideally you would want to get something back for Nas I don’t think you’ll get a first back for him you would want to try and get some sort of player oh a player which then is taking that roster spot so you’re not solving the the roster crunch the crunch there it this is going to be this is going to be a really interesting weekend on once this tampering window opens up here for sure uh listen very intrigued by what they’ve done Jal I have a qu oh my gosh Gerald just gave I’m sorry what is going on this is really funny I don’t know I don’t know this is really funny hold on can I can I cue this and then you make the face as I do this breaking news give me the face now come on there we go well it’s so it’s not breaking news so much as I think Shams might have gotten hacked because he just tweeted my account keeps getting locked dot dot dot dot midle of the NBA draft he hasn’t tweeted in 13 minutes damn I think someone hacked Shams that’s messed up that’s funny hey when you’re when you’re hey when your password when your password is I love Adams I mean it’s not that hard to figure out the Knicks were about to take bronny and uh they haven’t they didn’t but they’re about to take bronnie and Shams is typing it out in Rich Paul hack into his account Let’s uh you know what I’m gonna recap where we are go ahead in this second second round uh so uh we left off at 45 the last time we looked at it 46 was Cameron Christie uh to the Clippers uh Antonio Reeves at 47 Harrison Ingram at 48 Tristan Newton at 49 uh Enrique Freeman at 50 uh and another gentleman out of France uh Melvin ainka ainka uh I believe and is that Alex jinka we’re sitting at 52 might need to look into this now so I I’m looking at a guy on his board I talked about him earlier Camp Spencer Yukon he’s still on the board I mean this guy is a really good basketball player from a good system want and ask you Championship was one of the reasons why they won a National Championship uh 50 40 90 Shooters 64 good body projects more as a two guard but again I I do believe that there’s potential for him to eventually play a little bit of Point um I’m looking at the board and I’m like man that guy if that guy goes undrafted uh I’d love to love to uh talk to that kid yeah uh so this is interesting so uh Tad on Twitter sent this to me uh it’s a video of of Oso the sons Center atam Marquette who they drafted at 40 uh the Tweet says uh he has one of the highest IQs in the NBA draft he broke down every NBA action in one take in a film study without seeing the play before highly intelligent kid funny you say that I just got a text from somebody I trust who literally told me this kid’s basketball IQ is insane m which basketball I accus inan he’s like a coach on the floor which which can go a long way I mean it’ be interesting to see how that translates uh with this group so still no bronny James being drafted for those of you wondering uh and still a lot of uh of stuff that’ll take place with the undrafted free agents but uhull still on the board too seven picks left yep six picks left ain’t get drafted yet yeah Justin Edwards Kevin McCulla Kad Johnson cam Spencer bronnie Jaylen Bridges hey guys there’s some good players on this board still man if these guys get to an undrafted spot Phoenix Suns better be on on the phone it’s interesting too because sometimes as this is going on those guys are like already Comm don’t draft me I wanna I’d much rather sign someplace that I can go that’s better for me Gerald I have a question for you and again sorry to put you on the spot but when when it comes to Rookies what’s the rule on sending a guy down to the G league if he’s not on a two-way can you do that to get him some seasoning or does he have to be on a two-way I I don’t know because the last time that the Suns had a rookie that they could and a g-league team that they could send down two ways didn’t exist so I might need to look into that I don’t think so because we’ve seen like veteran players who are coming off of an injury tempor go down to the G league so I don’t think that precludes you or prevents you from doing so um you know if you want your rookie to get more time but I I would need to look into that to make sure because it’s like I said it’s been a minute since a we had a rookie B we had a g-league team yeah and C two-way contracts came into existence yeah I think that’s going to be interesting too because these guys are going to need some seasoning and you’re trying to fight for a title right how much how much are they going to be able to learn on the job MH and that’s I think going to be a big factor here it’s going to be interesting and fun to watch these guys at Summer League though is going up against other college guys and guys trying to get back in the league will get a good feel of the the basics of their game the the the fundamental parts of their game and I’m looking forward to that in Vegas in a couple weeks because we’ll be out there for the first uh five days four or five days of of Summer League watching all this and should learn at least a little bit about both of these I mean listen Sunday’s free agency if I were if I were the person making the calls I’d be looking for a lob threat that’s that’s what I feel like we’re still missing I I think we still need a lob threat um a big that can uh be a lob threat and I man I’m I’m just fascinated with this board right now there’s just some good talent players still on this board how many we got eight picks left I think there’s there are six picks left and Justus Kevin mcculler Kad Johnson cam Spencer bronny James Jaylen Bridges Trey Alexander Boogie Ellis Isaiah Crawford wow and all rich chomi are all available so at least a couple of those names are going to become undrafted free agents yeah and that’s two and Edwards and mcculler for you Flex that were in your top six remaining prospects oh cam Spencer just went to [ __ ] uh yeah yeah this kid good I I I I’m very intrigued by how quick things happen on Sunday too because last year within the first five minutes the Suns basically filled out their bench and I I wonder what targets they have and how quick they’re going to act this time or if they’re going to try to see kind of how the market Nets out and if you could potentially get a guy that maybe is worth a little bit more than the vet minimum uh but wind up Landing him simply because uh the market dries up on them and it I think it’s G to happen with more and more guys with this new CBA where there’s just not the money that that was once out there with the teams not being able to use these exceptions and all those kind of things it’s going to be going to be very interesting yeah for sure I and I I have a bad feeling like the draft is still going to be fun we did have a good number of trades on draft day leading up to the draft um but I do wonder how much all of these trade restrictions now these second and first tax apron restrictions are going to kind of kill the off season or the de the trade deadline especially um because if we fast forward to February of next year and you know there’s eight to 12 teams in these tax aprons they’re going to it’s going to be more difficult for them to make moves maybe I’m completely wrong you never know how this sort of thing is going to affect teams in their thinking but it just feels that way you got you got a lot of Hoops to jump through now just to get a trade done so we’re pick 54 which is the cated this is there’s this there’s this growing push for the Celtics to take bronny James as kind of an Fu to their longtime rival the Lakers uh do you think the Celtics are that petty do you think uh do you think they care that much about stick to lers I think that’s a Bill Simmons wet dream there quite frankly but we’ve heard a couple uh guys say it on National media over the last few days we have but we’ve also heard there the the kids agent threatening to take them to a different continent if they get drafted so I think that might shake things up a little bit not to play he’s just I’m going to hide bronny in Australia until you relinquish his rights we might have a new yic meme because cam Spencer got drafted during a Deadpool commercial did yeah the selection came in when the Deadpool commercial was on screen that’s so much better than uh than TCO Bell right as a as a you know a had to get drafted Deadpool should be his nickname Deadpool should be cam Spencers G because he Deadpool Spencer during it campol um yeah I I think someone brought up a good point on Twitter or the chat my losing my mind at this point so I don’t know but uh some somebody said that maybe this is just an attempt to make sure no one leading up to the Lakers up to the Lakers yeah that that’s why I’m fascinated that’s why I’m fascinated could be we’re gonna find out really soon we’re Elite game of chicken that that’s why I’m fascinated yeah I’m yeah the best thing ever you you know I love I love chaos right the Lakers take bronny at 55 LeBron Ops out and goes somewhere else that would be the best story line of the guys I am fascinated with with what’s going to happen in the next 10 minutes because if you know Rich he could have easily been doing that saying hey nobody draft him we’re going 55 that’s what we want if you do that we’ll go play wherever the hell he said he’s gonna play um but if they don’t if you see 55 and the Lakers don’t take bronny James um what does that imply with are you are you okay what does that I’m going to put you on the spot are you are you feeling confident enough to say if Brony James doesn’t uh goes undrafted that we’re going to get an alert that bronny James was signed as an undrafted free agent I would not be shocked okay I I I would not be shocked if the Lakers do not take bronny here that before we leave the studio today we’ll get a breaking news that bronnie James has been signed by the Suns as an undrafted free agent but again uh he worked out with two teams guys like he worked out with two teams um another thing is yeah I just I just feel like if this was the if the Lakers were gonna take Brony I think we know this already the pick is in the the Celtics have have put their pick in but we don’t know who it is oh okay we got word from Shams Boston is selecting Anton Watson hold on is that actually sham sham it is or is or this whoever oh we got no we got the notice on 55 55 they are taking bronny James bronnie James to the to the uh Lakers I mean if they didn’t I mean what would that have said right I mean bro they had that ready to go there’s a picture and everything Shams all of his other tweets have the link to everything like that he had a bronny in a Lakers jersey Photoshop ready to go they did please please please LeBron go somewhere else now I need the drama damn it yeah no this is uh yeah he that’s that was a drama I wish they would have played it out a little bit they didn’t even they even wait they’re just like nope here we go a sixc difference between Shams tweeting out the Boston pick and Shams tweeting out it’s like he had it scheduled basically it was already ready to go he probably did he probably it was in his drafts and he fired that bad boy off fast probably uh yeah so he did mention in the Tweet LeBron and bronny to become first ever father son Duo to be in the NBA at the same time which is not insignificant that he included that because if that mean you know if the Lakers and and Rich Paul were playing a game of chicken I don’t know I don’t know if you would get that that last line in there this was the wor this was hand was so crazy I I think everything they did was so unnecessary yeah it just wasn’t necessary like the way that you know the whole like threatening to go to Australia like dog listen he only worked out for two teams I don’t think anybody was really going to I think you know what that is I think that’s again that’s agent stuff implying that teams were knocking on the door to draft him right that’s that’s how this get that’s how the business work I’m pretty sure he was always going to be there at 55 right unless unless the Suns had moved up a couple spots ahead of him and they really liked him but you know what it played out exactly how we thought and now JJ reck can drop uh plans for bronny James to hit some shots in preseason so enjoy that JJ do you think JJ coaches the Lakers summer league team so he can actually have some experience before he goes into an actual season I don’t know I don’t think he will but maybe I I think I saw it was Fran frilla who was saying on Twitter he was given his list of advice for new coaches and coaching the summer league team was one of those things just to get as much coaching experience and get your feet wet as possible interesting it’s going to be going to be interesting to see the chaos because Lakers games at Summer League were already insane uh they’re going to be crazier now yeah with bronny on the Lakers and you LeBron will be Courtside for that first game with Team USA being in Vegas at the same maybe that was all coordinated too uh so that’s pretty much the drama left uh in this draft it is pretty much over uh there is pick 56 still looking at some Mr Irrelevant is still on the board Dam I’m still looking at some of these available players man Justin Edwards and McCulla surprised the hell out of me that they’re still there yep uh bries Kad Johnson I like Kad Johnson Boogie Ellis bridges yeah no there’s some there’s some interesting names on this list still if Justin Edwards goes undrafted that was shocking that would be an incredible undrafted free agent signing for the Suns it it would be it’ll be oh God yes so so those of you that maybe are just tuning in because you saw oh pick 56 is coming up the Suns will select sorry you missed it 16 selections ago they traded up to 40 uh to take the morette center Oho I’m not can you what last name again you want to try it igodo igodo thank you Oho igodo at 40 uh uh so they’ve got their their Center uh that they that they coveted Adam Marat the 611 bigman uh they in a really roundabout way traded a 2028 second round pick that was protected from Boston to the Knicks for pick 51 in this year’s second round they then packaged pick 51 and 56 and traded it to the Knicks yes for a a 440 yes so essentially the Knicks pick up two second round picks to to get up to 40 so the Suns could get their man so that is Ryan D lot of was first all the chaos in the second that’s kind of the way this all netted out for the Suns listen if the Suns would have traded into the 40s and took Edwards or Mulla I would not have been upset I had them that high if these kids go drafted man come on guys saying the valley Suns could be really good next year I’m saying the Phoenix Suns can be really good for to Edwards man oh here here they’re making the official announcement on ESPN right now of bronny James uh where’s the obligatory LeBron crying cut uh with with bronnie are they going to have it or no I maybe they didn’t maybe they were too afraid that he might not be drafted he’s in Australia bro they didn’t they already stashed him away sorry sorry we’re not see how long his highlight package goes probably the longest of anybody in the second round all right I mean look four highlights no I yeah I don’t think we’re getting the shot of oh disappointing I thought the NBA would milk it for everything it was worth and have LeBron cam with bronny uh get them embracing as the first fatherson duo in NBA history unfortunately would think so I wonder who’s gonna get that first interview uh probably wior I’m looking for a JJ reic podcast for sure oh myal drop yeah bronnie we’re gonna we’re gonna drw these plays that you and LeBron can can do so that is I mean yeah so 56 the Knicks are going to pick 57 Memphis 58 to Dallas who will have Mr Irrelevant and I think the Timberwolves traded for 57 so they’re going to get that one so kind of interesting for them TV got 57 if they get Justin Edwards you’re especially worried about one of those guys yeah if they get one of those guys that you like that much at 57 they had the best draft best draft no question [ __ ] I I can tell you right now if the son if one of those kids went undrafted and suns were able to get him as an undrafted free agent I think you could talk about the the sun’s having one of the best drafts MH um so yeah I mean he’s some good basketball players still here man right [ __ ] Minnesota scary if they can get their hands on one of these guys uh Victor Renee Gonzalez in the chat says is Reggie Jackson a bio candidate we talked about this yes uh we believe that Charlotte May and he could be potentially a veteran minimum option here uh in Phoenix if that does happen so yeah uh so where do we go let where we oh what come on man uh Minnesota has now traded 57 to Toronto so makes me feel better yeah what take whoever Raptors this this draft is day drinking it is so Dr how have we ever seen this many second round picks move I got what it wanted it got chaos for this next year when it’s not on the same day as a debate I would like it to be not at 1 afternoon I think I think they always plann for it to be prime time and the presidential debate happened and they’re like we can’t go up that’s the only excuse that I will accept because otherwise I’m not about this late night early turnaround okay but what would you rather they changed or they keep in there we go it’s Kevin mcculler M went with mcculler okay uh yeah I I agree though I think you have to you have to make it more of a spectacle if you’re going to go to this like why wouldn’t you have more of these kids here and have those moments give them their moment uh with the uh backup commissioner you this isn’t entertaining television like no yeah they they they fumbled this this could have been better which shocks me because the NBA is usually so good at these kind of things right they’re the ultimate marketing machine right and they had this opportunity in front of them uh the fact that bronny somehow was not involved in this and they hype the crap out of it surprises the hell out of me right yeah just going get the feed to Australia I think it’s kind of messed up for the prospects too because like back in the day if you were a second round Prospect you could still go down to the arena and be in the house still shake hands and go up like yeah this is yeah this was kind of weird I I do like I don’t mind the two-day split because I think when you have the full 60 picks and it’s like six or s hours that’s too much I I do like the two-day split but move it back a few hours man like I do think the two-day split gave teams an opportunity to reassess and be more involved and iron out what kind of Trades they would want to have and that’s why we’ve seen so much activity today yeah from that I I like it a lot what if this it feels like a like we’re back in like Co [Music] time everything we’re three guys sitting in a I mean let’s we’re we’re kind of the benefactors of Co time too in how these uh these companies have come about and a lot of things but what if what if Rich Paul wasn’t bluffing what if what if he goes no no we told you don’t take him we’re going to we’re going to Australia there’s no way it happens but if it did it would be the most funny thing that came out of today be amazing uh so let’s get our final thoughts as this the clock L down on this NBA draft uh what do you make of what the suns were able to accomplish over these uh 36 hours defense got a lot of Defense got a smart player and an incredible athletic rangey big Defender like I I’m really happy with what they added on the defensive side of the ball um I do have some questions about you know obviously dun’s offense and then with Oso you know certain aspects of his game as well but overall the consensus from a lot of draft people is that the Suns did well with what they came out of this draft with I think they still have needs heading into free agency that’s pretty obvious backup point guard um certain traits that we would like to see in a center uh but overall I think this is pretty good you came out with two solid players that the suns were really high on and you added two future second round picks in the process yeah yeah uh defense they they got better defensively they got younger they got more athletic um I love the Ryan Dum pick dioso pick I’m I got to dig a Little Deeper uh in a vacuum right now based on some textes I received and some background info uh if I had to give it a grade I’d probably be at A flat B for the grade right now um and overall or just the four no just for Oso for the oso pick so um I like what they did man I like what they did I think they got a little more cerebral again what I’m hearing about alsoo is he’s an incredibly smart basketball player that can pick up things and and sometimes between the ears is the best ability or the best skill between the ears I’ve seen some really talented guys that could do everything on the basketball court but between the ears it didn’t quite work out and and and that’s just how it shakes out so this is a kid that gets it uh also gets it done between the ears and has a lot of talent so yeah I like what they did ESO they say the same thing about me I get it done between the ears that’s why this is so good uh but I I got to wonder is Frank Fogle somewhere crying into his uh millions of dollars that he got because they did nothing to help him defensively last year and they go defensive minded in this draft I think it’s kind of funny he would have loved having Ryan Dunn last year yes or this year uh we have a super chat for master domas uh before we get out of here says Royce for Robert Williams salary match thoughts doesn’t work he’s a free agent you won’t be able to trade him if he agrees to come back which we believe he will you won’t be able to trade him until uh later in you can do a sign and trade with him you can do a sign and trade I thought teams in the apron couldn’t do re sign you can send one out I don’t see why I don’t see whyland would do it though I wouldn’t do that uh just because I like Robert Williams a lot in terms of you know some of the boxes he would check off but the injury thing is too too risky for to give up a solid two-way Wing that if he doesn’t work out this year you could flip somewhere else facts facts all right well it’s been a uh fun two days here I feel like uh we hadn’t left these seats pretty much for the last two days so uh we’ll have a lot more tomorrow we’re expecting potentially press conferences with the draft pick so we will cover that uh anything that happens with James Jones in the front office any media availab you can find it right here on our YouTube page we will give you that and we’ll provide you all the Insight uh and info I’m sure Flex will do a full breakdown on Oso’s game uh for tomorrow so we’ll be back here at 3 pm tomorrow covering it all D and Oso are Phoenix Suns and uh free agency is right around the corner so for Flex at Flex from Jersey on Twitter or X for Gerald boray Gerald boray uh you can follow the show at pH H nxor Suns you can follow me at espo and remember bronnie James ain’t a son but they got some guys that you’re going to like a lot more Hoy [Music] Hoy like the mayor

But Bro my gets you Lebron
How did we not get Tyler Smith dammit ?!?!
The most interesting thing about Oso is that he's considered a point-center. He has amazing dribbling and passing skills for a big guy. He would quite often bring the ball up the court for Marquette. The bad thing is he has no 3 point shot whatsoever.
Still have no pointguard and delusional people thinking that point- book and beal can run an offense. This was a good draft for two of our needs but really want to know why james jones absolutely hates pointguards. This team needs a playmaking one badly and spurs got Juan nunez another Tony Parker. We also missed on jamal shead, tristan newton, kolek and Ajay mitchell.
If we fail to sign a quality free agent pointguard our offense will still suck and we will set an nba season record for turnovers.
Loved our draft but we still are missing a major piece to actually be a complete team.
