you know we had a punch list uh we wanted to go through at the end of the year when I last time I saw you guys and um and I probably was you could tell I was ad him and know what kind of changes I wanted to make and um I believe we did that Devil’s general manager Tom Fitzgerald had a plan heading into the off seon and when July first hit and the free market was open he went out and addressed all those things that he knows his team needs to take them to the next level go tending I’m I’m super happy and super excited about uh uh you know joining uh joining the Devils dep D harder D you know revamping the the defense now the thought of being a New Jersey Devil just it’s um it’s hard to describe and hard to put into words how special it is to me just for me kept coming back to the devils and the amount of skill and um you know just the way that Tom approached the offseason and their commitment to wanting to win um I’m super excited I’m super happy to be um with devils and and I’m really looking forward to to this next chapter in my career looking for for our bottom six to look a little bit different than vanilla it was kind of an no-brainer in a sense and um and yeah we’re we’re excited to be back for them to reach out and and make a trade for me to Want Me is Is Awesome The Devils have added two top defensemen and Brett pesy and Brendan Dylan and when it comes to the forward group Paul cter joins as well as bringing back Stephan n and Thomas Tatar the one thing that is very clear from all these players and Fitzgerald himself is that the players are picking New Jersey as much as the team is picking them and they know that this is a place they can go to win anxious and and excited get going to be honest um I know how good this team is uh played them in the playoffs two years ago um they have some high highend forwards um things you know guys you you can’t just teach their skill uh obviously I wouldn’t I would have sign anywhere that I didn’t think had a chance to win a cup you you know you obviously look at the hockey perspective and uh you know that’s like do you feel like the team can win and and when that’s a yes everything else comes pretty easy I’m very excited I I I can see the the excitement that they are not only just myself but the people that they’ve brought in and um it’s an exciting time I think to be a Devils fan I want to win um and I think hearing you know the Infectious you know New Jersey Devil way of we want to get better we want to push the envelope and and continue to get better that just has really resonated with me it’s nice it’s a nice feeling that New Jersey is a destiny for top players when your phone rings from Agents on July 1st of top players in the league um you know you’re building something here and you’re building a place where players want to come because they see they see a chance and opportunity to win Fitzgerald says he’s pretty much done when it comes to the free agent Market though he always keeps his options open and in just just a few weeks time the Devils will be back on the ice behind me preparing for the opening of training camp for Devils now I’m Amanda Stein

Tom Fitzgerald had a list of items he wanted to address this off-season and as Free Agency opened, he went to work to address them all
