NJ Devils Draft Anton Silayev At #10 NHL Draft 2024

welcome back Devils fans it is your host Ace here on running with the Devils where we are talking New Jersey Devils hockey all year long news rumors stories game recaps anything and everything New Jersey Devils please hit that subscribe button smash the like share with a friend thank you very much and now the much anticipated Day Has Come and gone the NHL draft there were no fireworks to be had no big trades nothing exciting for the most part and the Devils decide to draft with the number 10 overall pick and with the number 10 overall pick the New Jersey Devils select Anton salv of the KHL and there’s a lot to get to here on this pick this is a 6 foot7 18-year-old defenseman and he was projected on most mock drafts to be a top five pick I did not expect him to fall to the New Jersey Devils I know a lot of people are kind of upset that we didn’t get Dickinson or maybe you know the kid from Denver a lot of people you know I’m not going to get too much into the Weeds on that to be honest I think a lot of these kids it is somewhat of a Gamble and a crapshoot I mean that’s what drafting is you hope to hit on some of these picks Nothing is for sure but we decide to go with what was likely the best player available according to most rankings and draft the 6’7 monster from the k HL you know there’s a lot to like about this kid let’s just get to a couple of the scouting reports here we have the first one his length assist with killing plays defensively salv projects as a matchup shut down defenseman at the NHL level he’s capable moving pucks but he won’t provide much offense I mean that’s fine I’m not going to knock you know defenseman for not providing much offense not everyone could be out there scoring points sometimes you need a shut down guy the next one the left shot defenseman is one of the most intriguing players in the draft because of his size 6′ 7 211 PBS and developing offensive side of his game salv who turned 18 on April 11th more than a month after his final game had the most points by an under 18 player in KHL history topping Vladimir tereno 10 points in 38 games for I’m not even going to try to pronounce that in 20089 Chris Peters from Flo hockey salive has a fluid skating stride for such a big player can change Direction with ease and is able to close down on opposing forwards he handles himself well along the walls can lower the boom with a good body check and is able to protect the net front I mean good stuff we we weren’t very good at protecting our net front a lot last year um anytime you could get a defenseman that’s going to bring some size obviously we lost a lot of size with Kevin Ball getting traded out to Calgary and that markstrom deal I truly believe salive is the best at actually playing defense but he lacks the offensive stylings the others do but the 6′ seven blue liner averag just under 20 minutes a night while blocking shots Landing hits and showing off great skating for his size and see look a lot of you guys have read all these scouting reports and see these things and I’ve been seeing this kid high up on the list for weeks now and um I do believe there’s a chance he turns out to be a good player I think he is going to be a project he’s obviously not NHL ready he has a deal for two more years in the KHL it’s very unclear whether that the contract could be terminated and when he wouldd be eligible to come here and all those things and um so that’s a little murky at the moment but my main issue as you’re all going to know my my main issue with this pick and I think he could be a fine player I think he could turn out to be a fine player my issue with the pick that’s probably not going to come as a surprise to anyone who’s been watching me for a little bit while now is that this is 100% not a win now or immediate help Type move it just simply is not heading into the draft you guys all know I wanted to trade the pick for either a win now piece you know a proven commodity bottom six guy with some extra pieces coming that way or make a bigger Splash get a top six forward or possibly trade it for a group of picks to replenish the 2025 first rounder we shipped to Calgary in the markstrom deal I think there’s a lot of things you could possibly do possibly have packaged it with pilot to somehow get him off our books I thought there’s a lot of creative ways you could go about using this pick other than drafting with it but I guess you know nothing materialized that Tom Fitzgerald thought was worthwhile and so he decided that we are going to draft with it and they went with the best available player on many boards not preferable by any stretch of the imagination and doesn’t help move the team as it is now closer to winning a Stanley Cup the unfortunate situation is that you know the kid is 18 so he’s not going to be in the league anytime soon we already have two very young guys in Luke Hughes and shimo nemits on the blue line we also have Sheamus Casey in the pipeline and so this guy is just not going to be on the devils and who knows with his contract situation he might not be able to leave for a couple years from the KHL anyway but the reality is this this piece salv will never play or for the most part barring another year added on you know we resign him for another year he’s never going to play in front of Jacob marstrom and so when you get Jacob markstrom in the off season that is a win now move and I I believe you should be firmly maneuvering as best as possible to obtain pieces to improve this team to win a cup during Jacob markstrom’s time here now there’s a lot of you that are talking smack in the comments and telling me I don’t know and this that and the other thing that’s fine you could you could disagree don’t be don’t be a scum about it you know you could disagree with class but the reality is you told Jacob markson we’re going to try to win a cup here I mean I believe that was you know everyone’s goal to win a cup and so this kid’s never going to play in front of markstrom and I wanted to see win now pieces I I really did it’s unfortunate that I think the organization at this point just might be looking to do their best to be competitive year in and year out without truly ever going all in to try to win the cup and and I think that’s unfortunate because I think it will be very difficult to get to the promised land without at some points really making a push and making hard decisions to try to win the cup so you know I would love to know if teams had offered us anything for the 10th pick what the best offer on the table may have been but Fitz didn’t see anything that was worthwhile trading for and so we draft with it and we take a kid that could be a great player and I think you know it is an exciting guy to have in the pipeline I suppose but at this point it’s just very hard for me to get to excited about the future I believe the window is open now and a lot of you want to you know again talk in the comments and say all these things like oh you don’t know what you’re talking about and if you were the GM you they this that and the other thing at some point you have to start getting aggressive and start making win now moves here’s a poll question I’d love to I’d love to First poll question of this video place your answer in the comments please what will we see first will salv play his first NHL game first or will Tom Fitzgerald get fired first that is a great question what do we see first Fitzy fired or salia’s first NHL game if I was a betting man I think at this point I’m going to go we see Fitzgerald fired before we see CV’s first NHL game so Tom Fitzgerald is out here drafting guys that he may never even see hit the ice while he’s a GM because you know he talked a big game this whole summer and leading up to it talking about big game game hunting um you know Keith went through the gauntlet then he was talking about we need to get heavier edgier more violent and at least the the one silver lining in all this is that this kid salv seems to check off the boxes of heavier edgier more violent so that’s great but the problem is that heavier edgier more violent player is not coming for at least a couple seasons and so it’s it’s very hard for me to get excited about it now because when you get Jacob markstrom that is a win now move and you need to move that way you need to keep maneuvering throughout the summer so again uh I implore Tom Fitzgerald he talked the talk now he must walk the walk I really would have liked to see the number 10 pick used towards immediate help it didn’t happen and now we have another kid in the pipeline and that’s great and I think he could be a great player it’s just very hard for me to get excited about it today that’s the unfortunate reality you know I am tired of being told the future is bright the window’s just opening I mean when is the when is the window going to fully be open in the eyes of Fitz Gerald and the devil’s organization tell me when the window will fully be open are we talking about 2028 are we talking about 2029 everyone keeps obsessing about the devil’s youth cores age quickly guys go on that’s it retirement trades whatever it is they go quick dugey Hamilton’s 31 I have to imagine most people thought the devil’s window to win a cup included a roster that had douge Hamilton on it I don’t think we’re talking about post douge Hamilton’s career as a devil correct tell me if I’m wrong and so he’s not getting any younger everyone just continues to age and I don’t think it’s an extreme stance to say that I’m disappointed because the win now moves are not happening and the big game hunting markstrom seems like it could have may have been a start to it I don’t know man I don’t know now I did think a lot of the big game hunting was going to potentially be tied to that number 10 pick that was not the case this is a big kid great to have him in the system size heavy edgy more violent great the problem is it’s it’s far down the line and again we’re now living on hopes and dreams in the future talk and I’m just tired of the future talk how many years are you people that keep pounding your chest about you know prospects and the Futures right how many years can you possibly do that for before you’re like we need to start doing some moves to win now the time is now we have markstrom for two years so we do we just get markstrom to just keep us competitive and make the playoffs and try to maybe win round is that the goal here or is the goal to truly win a Stanley Cup again very disappointed the 10 pick wasn’t used for immediate help maybe a big splashy top six guy it must not have been there and so we picked the best available player I can’t completely kill the Devils for it I I suppose because I mean what is your option then if you’re forced to draft with a pick what maybe draft a guy who potentially could be ready for the NHL next year I mean you know if they really think lives that much better than whoever else they were looking at uh for one extra year you know one year quicker rather to get into the league I don’t know if it’d be worth even deviating from the pick and so it’s just it’s just an unfortunate situation uh we’re still waiting for the big game hunting to continue free agency opens on Monday and there’s a lot of names out there and again we’ve been rumored to peshy forever if somehow he does end up here I would be so curious as to how all those stories and leaks came out so early I don’t recall the devil’s ever being so heavily rumored to sign a free agent ever in my life actually because this the peshy stuff started what four or five days ago so you’re talking about you know well over a full week before free agency and if he does end up here it’s very interesting again I’ve never remember any guy being that heavily rumored to the devils in free agency but anyway you know that could be on the horizon but there’s tons of other guys I would rather have again I Fitzgerald said it himself heavier edgier more violent and that’s what I want to see I don’t think he’s going to make that many changes in the off season and so I’m hoping every guy he brings in checks those boxes because it is sorely needed the Devils were pushed and smacked around all season long and it’s got to change and that starts with bring in a couple tougher guys but let me know what you guys think in the comments about this pick um I I thought there was a chance we may have seen a blockbuster trade but I know I said yesterday it just seems like we’re going to lean towards drafting with it and we did and it’s not anyone that’s going to help markstrom or the markstrom era of the next two seasons and so for that reason it’s just very hard for me not to be bummed out about it I just you know some moves the devil’s maker for today like markstrom like that’s a win now move right and then we actually draft with the number 10 and get a kid that’s not going to be here for minimum two years so that’s a futur a Futures move and so I just think I don’t know it just seems like who’s driving the car uh who’s driving the car I don’t know is it the analytics team is it Fitzgerald at this point I don’t know what the hell’s going on it just seems like we are kind of an organization in disarray and it just there’s no consistency so a stockpiled guy in the cupboard for down the line markstrom old goalie win now and now I’m very curious to see what he does in free agency because that’s really going to be The Telltale and with this pick I am now expecting even more in free agency because no win now help came as a function of the number 10 pick it wasn’t dealt for any win now pieces it wasn’t used in any way to improve the team today and it’s unfortunate I’m bummed out I’m sure lots of others are and a lot of you guys love looking at the prospects and and oh we have this guy and that guy and like it’s just we’ve just been bad for so long where you the the future cannot be the bright spot anymore the now needs to be the bright spot it is very hard for me to sit here and be excited about this kid it really is uh and I waited a while to make the video because CU at first I was super pissed I had to calm down a little bit but I’m not surprised and in the end I would have been disappointed really no matter what if we drafted with the pick because it’s not going to be immediate help I know a lot of you mentioned a couple of the guys people thought were NHL ready but thinking someone’s NHL ready and them actually being NHL ready are two very different things but even if the guy some of the other guys would be ready next season I mean you know that’ been a little more tolerable but I don’t know how how feasible any of this stuff is this kid is clearly not going to be on the team anytime soon doesn’t help markstrom and it’s just a Future’s stashed away piece you know in the end if I have to just to summarize my feelings of it is I guess I like the player I don’t like the move and I like the player because I think he will be a solid guy one day but I don’t like the move because I don’t like using the pick today to get him if that makes sense like the player don’t like the move the timeline of it all just doesn’t fit in with what I was hoping Fitz gerd was going to do and that’s unfortunate you know he talked a big game I am disappointed I’m sure lots of you are and I’m sure lots of you are happy about this a lot of people love the prospects um I you know pay a little bit attention to it but I don’t dwell on it as much as others do but you know it’s not immediate win help free agency is coming up Monday the schedule the NHL schedule should be coming out any day now I’ll do a little review on that I’m looking forward to that maybe plan some road trips early when the calendar comes out I always like to try to get to at least a game or two on the road if possible but let me know anything in the comments guys what do you think about this pick are you happy with it are you not you know who do you think fits should try to get in free agency anything else Devil’s hockey throw it out there in the comments I’m not going to lie I’m a little dejected right now and I’m a little upset I’m a little upset but I allowed myself I did this to myself I did it to myself I I should have just you know been more prepared to draft with that pick and know that it’s not going to be a win down piece and so now my expectations are that much higher for Fitzgerald and free agency and I’m probably going to be disappointed I probably will be let down and I’ll probably be more angry but I have to say in my defense my anger I think will be justified because he talks so much smack how are you GNA coin the phrase big game hunting man big game hunting and then talk about heavier edgier more violent and it’s like all right now I’m getting very antsy because now the draft has come and gone the number 10 pick wasn’t utilized in the trade we did draft with it cool there’s a a nice player in the prospect pool but now what are you doing to help this team for 2425 and really it’s going to come in free agency or maybe another trade or two but free agency is the Main Avenue now and on Monday guys are going up for sale I’ll have another video or two about that in the next couple days but there’s a lot of stuff going on and a lot of guys potentially for the taking very curious to see who the devils are going to be in on but throw anything and everything out there in the comments who do you think we should go for   1. Ace, once again, you mirror my thoughts exactly. Fitz said he wanted to bring in 2 forward and 2 D with $15 mil and the #10 pick. Now a big piece has expired and we are left wonder what happened. I'm sure the kid will be fine in a few years but, like you said, the core is aging. My expectations for the off-season have been lowered dramatically. I wouldn't be surprised if we only ended up with Brett Pesce and Ross Colton and some cap space for the Spring. Sad.

  2. I disagree kid is going to be great considering Hughes and nemec Casey are soft if that's the future defense they going to be bullied. Also free agency hasn't even started yet so this anger at Fitz saying he wants violence or big game hunting before free agency has even started. The guy can't make serious moves until Monday. Be angry a week from now if he doesn't make moves. Can't crucify Fitz by not improving the team now when can't sign anyone until FA

  4. I am going to spit something out and be hated for it. I think that after the first pick and Demidov, who was picked by Montreal, he was the real 3rd best pick. Not only that, but given our defense problem, he might be a good fit. (And it might not take him that much time to become the player we need him to be.)

    I ve said no more kids, but since it came to that, he is a great pick.

Im not thrilled with making this pick were not seing this guy for 3 years and even then hes gotta adjust to playing defense in the nhl.. i get it ppl say wat could fitz do he has to get creative package that pick with a player i dont see how were getting 2 fowarda and two dman for 16 mil plus resighning mercer..

  7. If we trade Marino we shed his $4.4m AAV. That gives us about $20 million to work with. It sounds like we can get Zadorav and Tanev for about $10 million together. That gives us enough to sign Mercer and have enough left over for bottom six pieces. I could live with that.

  8. I think its a bit premature to say this is a bad move. You yourself said trading the tenth pick for a goalie or a defensemen was stupid. If memory serves me right you felt the only thing worth giving up that pick for was a top 6 forward or a bunch of prospects in the 2025 draft. Maybe Fitz couldn't find that deal we were all hoping for with the limited time before the draft and did what he thought was best at the moment. The clock was not our friend this time. He very well could of been burning up the phone lines to make a deal for that tenth pick but that doesn't mean other teams were forced to make a deal to help the Devils. It also doesn't mean he failed in his "Big Game." I think the Big hunt will start come the opening of free agency. Which of course presents a whole other set of issues since you are only adding dollars to the salary cap without removing salary via a trade. So if thats the only course they have available at this point that means we will probably see the Devils give players away for practically nothing to make room for those big purchases. We all need to remain calm and and see how things play out once free agency starts

  9. People this is a fantastic pick. Look it’s not the NFL. Hockey drafting is totally different
    I also wanted a trade for a player but this is as good as the team could have gotten. He will be a stud Sasquatch one day.
    So you know Fitz got pummelled with offers but they all sucked.
    Just pray for the two big FA signings they need now and then bundle Casey and Holtz and future assets to bring Brady to NJ

  10. Zadorov and Tanev should be the goal for this season. Thats the dream for this season rn. Ace as always I love the show keep up the great work!
    And hopefully Fitz is here winning GM of the year as this kid gets here to keep the violent sand paper we need always

  11. I’m basing my opinion on “Fitz went fishing, but nothing was biting” and the big moves are coming 7/1+. I am disappointed that a big trade using the 10th never happened though. Anyway, the kid is huge, still going to fill out more, is a good skater and has almost everything you want in a top level defenseman. Maybe not a scorer and it doesn’t matter since we already have defenseman that can blast shots from the blue line. It sucks it’s going to be 2 years till he could possibly play in the NHL, but, when he does get here, Luke and Nemec will be somewhat seasoned Pros. Adding a giant with physicality will be the icing on the cake. We still have a chance at Zadorov. If we get him, the issue with waiting 2 years for a big, physical d-man is moot. I’m being optimistic since Free Agency is still coming up. It wasn’t a win now addition to the team, but it’s was a possibly great addition to keep a Cup contending team relevant for years to come. It’s tough being a fan sometimes. I feel like we are the most loyal part of any pro sports team.

  12. Let me put some clarity to this pick. Anton has a contract through the 25-26 season in the KHL. He can break that contract and it's been done before (Matvei Mitchkov – Flyers). What makes this exciting is he is a 6'7" that skates like he is 5'10". His coach is Igor Larionov 3x Stanley Cup champion with the Red Wings and if anyone will make him NHL ready it's him. If you were looking at something now then yes I understand the frustration. I didn't hear many teams trying to make many moves. I'm absolutely sure Fitzy did make calls and honestly maybe teams just weren't ready to give anything up without killing the Devils future. Don't be upset. Before anyone gets disappointed let's see what he does on Monday. There will be lots of options. I would like to see a defenseman personally I think we are still weak there. Specifically a stay at home defenseman that will take lots of mins and punish anyone around the crease. By the way. Everyone's feelings are valid. It's because we want this team to succeed. Patience is a virtue.

  13. I would have taken Dickinson who you can plug in right away. Imagine having him and like together. This bum from Russia is sloppy a 6 7 tree who turns the puck over left and right

  14. Great way to say it, I like the player, I don't like the move. We need 2 forwards, 2 defenseman. A Marino trade can get one of those and we have 12 million to fill out the rest. (after signing Mercer). Also, don't listen to these clowns in the comments being disrespectful. Keep putting up great content! I think we are at least getting back to the playoffs, which at least saves Fitz for 1 more year.

  16. It is rumored that the teams at the top of the draft asked for way too much for teams looking to trade up. I think that hurt teams like the Devils at 10. I love your channel and agree with your takes but I do not believe the trade was there. Maybe to your point though Fitz should’ve been more aggressive earlier on. Still optimistic.

  17. If we give this kid 3 years to fully develop: Jack is 26, Jesper and Nico are 28, Timo will be 30, MacD is 33 and just finished his contract, and Markstrom needed to be resigned last year or we're probably relying on one of our kids in net with little & unsuccessful to no NHL experience.

    I've heard this kid is great defensively but he doesn't help us now for the next 2, maybe 3, years. If this was big game hunting then Fitz better be hunting dinosaurs when free agency opens up.

    EDIT: I sound more negative than I am. I think it is possible to get grittier, edgier, heavier, and violent this year while still drafting this pick for our long term future, but that means there's a lot to do in free agency for the right now.

  19. In the 50 articles i read on Silayev last night, I did see one where they mentioned a player that had his KHL Kontract "ripped up" to play now in the NHL. Just the mention that this is a possibility keeps a tiny match lit for this to be a win with Markstrom move. Just wanted to add some hope to anyone sad today. Slim chances are still chances. The kid was in Vegas. He knows, he saw the lights, the girls, the energy….this has moved a few Russians to action in the past.
    The Devils should buy this kid a tiger and get him in a house in Alpine fast.

  21. I was disappointed we drafted as well, Ace. But like you said I don't think a deal was there that made sense (unfortunately).

    I really wanted Buium going into the night. The guy is going to make it and be an impact player. NJ has plenty of similar transition potential already, so I understood passing for Anton Silayev's size/shutdown ability. However, the downer is we won't seen him until, like, 2027 if we don't trade him at any point. Great player, but far from seeing something immediate. Hopefully this doesn't turn out like a few other players I wanted NJ to draft beforehand only to be passed on (Askarov over Rossi and Holtz, Barzal over Zacha, Carlson over Tedenby etc. 😑)

    Seems like Pesce in and Marino out is inevitable at this point, as well as Fitz falling short of that 5 player goal since the pick was kept – but we'll find out Monday.

    I like pick. As you laid out though, it wasnt a 'win now' move, but it was a hell of a pick. The kid is big, can throw the body and is an explosive skater.

    Im more concerned about free agency at this point and what Fitzy as planned….I am still not a fan of the Markstrom trade, but it is what it is i guess.

  23. Fitz was possibly getting low balled…Hopefully SILAYEV does bolster the not too distant future (2 years, max). AND Fitz fully stacks the team in July. Free Agency looks very juicy. And I agree, now we expect a lot more in FA. You’ve covered many of these killers. There’s still time for trades too.

  24. Let's not forget the field day we could have with free agency. This will present the physical and gritty player pieces we need that immediately can change the identity of the team and really get the engine going towards a serious contending team, not this 10th overall draft pick. I think a little humble pie is in order if we think the Devils are a cup team after looking at the past two seasons. I would love to see that obviously, but compared to say the Panthers, Vegas or what have you, the Devils just aren't that yet. So I think a middle ground of having Cup aspirations, going big in free agency here and really morphing this Devils squad, is a great position to be in. Silayev was projected to be in the top 5 by a lot of predictions. So since the pick wasn't used in a package for Saros or a big name forward, and basically snagged Markstrom, drafting this kid who has potential to be a Hedman type player, along with Luke and Nemec, leaves us with potential for a completely stacked blue line a few years down the line. Luke and Nemec 2 years from now are sure to be better than next season or the season after anyway. Maybe his contract can be terminated in the KHL somehow also. The Rangers seemed to open a garage door and bust out Rempe, maybe we will see something similar with Silayev but with top 5 draft pick traits and qualities.

  26. You can do both things, build for the future and build a win now team. As you know, not a fan of our GM, but that pick was a great pick as was today's trade of Marino to get our future goalie. So to answer your question, hopefully we build around markstrom starting on July 1st. Did you see him on stage at the draft? Did he need to go to the bathroom?😂. Thank god Brodeur was up there to announce the pick.

  29. I think it’s a good move, devils core still two years away from being true cup contenders. Most cores win in their late 20’s to early 30’s so I’m fine with it. Don’t wanna rush the process, I’d rather spend a little more time to build a quality product. Ik that’s not Markstroms time which is why I thought Ullmark would be better because he fits the core timetable better. I just don’t see us getting into the conference finals in the next two years, even tho all it takes is a hot streak. I’m hopping, cheers 🎉!

  35. Absolutely Ace .. exactly my thought . I was yet wasn’t surprised we used the pick. Must’ve not had the right trade lined up I guess . As for Silayev I think it is the perfect pick for what it’s worth . Feel like he has Chara potential from what I’ve seen. I think Pesce is a devil and we damn better grab a Z, Tanev, or tough guy on Monday or this gonna be another devils getting bullied season . You should feel the way you feel, mad justified .

  37. Your hatred of Tom Fitzgerald is wild. I guess let’s just fire the GM every year until one wins the cup. My opinion is be patient. They are about to add a lot of pieces in FA with 20 mil in cap space.

  38. I expect Fitzgerald to be fired at the end of this season. This isn't a good team. Markstrom is a top 15ish goalie. He's not going to move the needle. He's better than what we had. He's not a top guy though. Team is still going to be soft. They are going to overpay Pesce. He won't live up to it. What is there to be excited about?

  39. I think it was a great pick and i think you're coping hard with the Markstrom trade calling it a win now move. Markstrom was not a win now move. Ullmark would've been.

  41. I think it's absolutely fair to be frustrated that we are still not in the win now position regarding the current structure of the team. Every true fan's patience must be wearing very thin. We have all had to live through countless years of mediocrity with this team. While I think this is a great pick, you are right that it does not move the needle in the present.

    I hope that I'm wrong, but I don't think this team can win right now. Having Markstrom for 2 years is great to stabilize the goalie position, but the team is not built to win in the playoffs right now. If Markstrom were younger, he might be the goalie to take us to the promise land. By that time, the core of the team might be truly battle tested and able to win 16 games in the playoffs. I do expect this team to make the playoffs this coming year and truly start to not only learn what it takes, but be able to consistently achieve this year in and year out.

    Regarding all of the rumors that have been circulating around the Devils, Fitz operates in such a different way from Lou. With Lou, you never knew anything. That does not seem to be the case with Fitz. Of course, times have changed a bit and we're living in a different world. The only hope to speed up this process now is to make smart moves in free agency. Additionally, this team does seem to make decisions by committee. That is unfortunate. We'll see what happens right?

  42. I do not like the trade of Alexander Holtz. I wanted to keep him. Schmid trade I kind of understand given that his agent was asking for more money last off-season. Fitzgerald….no bueno.

  44. Thank Gd we didn’t trade the pick before the draft. Silayev is an amazing commodity to have, he’s only gonna increase in value. If we don’t move him at this or next years TDL it’s fine because we have a window not tied to Markstrom, it’s tied to our core forwards and young dmen. Silayev fills a major need and will be on his elc for our window imo.
