well Ghost cost almost $4 million Edinson cost 800 Grand you see what I’m saying go have what 50 points last year I think like something like that I bet evanson’s around 45 next year for a quarter of the price yep you see like this is part of it now guys I know it’s been a while since we’ve been you know awake for Red Wings hockey I know it has been but this is part of it those are the winds that people aren’t talking about that are there that’s why I believe in it and for the linear granular crowd there’s been Improvement every single year they miss a playoffs by 90 I I see here you want to boil it all back down I can’t believe it then I don’t believe it today and I won’t believe it tomorrow that people are going to dictate a man’s regime to this point based on 90 seconds to the point where if they made the play what if they had made the playoffs this year and got got cooked it by the Rangers like that’s what everybody wanted yeah well fans would have felt better that’s you know over 90 seconds like that okay this is going to be tone chalk full of tone everybody so just get ready for it please explain to me how 90 seconds are going to determine whether or not you think a man is a total failure or a total success that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life Somebody explain it to me someone in the chat because you’re out there because I’ve seen you today please explain to me how if they would have made the playoffs last year then all of a sudden yeah let’s go hockey Town we’re back like explain it to me and it’s very clear what they’re doing he’s doing the same thing he’s done since he been here mhm yeah ghost is gone edmonson’s coming in for a quarter of the money and he’s better why is it why why am I maybe the problem’s me why do I not understand this why why why do I not understand where the people are dmac kg SP somebody help me you’re my friends help me why can’t I why can’t I understand where these people are coming from it’s the drought it’s the it’s the hunger just point blank okay and and people and people feel like maybe Stevie hasn’t taken enough risk in order to get him past that point but if he’s building it the right way to me I’m cool with that but 6 years people are going to get impatient okay I understand that but just your Edinson ghost comparison right there yeah if that’s a philosophy is that not a winning philosophy [Music]

  2. Only reason why i was wondering whats going on is this video is the 1st time we have heard anything. Yzerman never tips his hand and that can be hard on fans. We just have to be patient

  3. Anyone who thought Yzerman or anyone else – could rebuild this hockey team faster than what we're watching – should maybe be watching another sport?

  4. There is no trade off or comparison with ghost and edvinsson, two different players that would have been asked to do very different things.
    Gustafsson is the ghost replacement, better defensively but also not near as offensively gifted.
    Edvinsson taking walmans role is how I would describe the depth chart as of July 2nd.

    People are frustrated because ghost signed for way less than expected and are questioning why we couldnt have come to terms to keep him.
    The money saved by not signing ghost is only relevant if it's used in another capacity to improve the team. Just saying we saved money is meaningless on it's own.

  5. Any point Ruhl makes is lost on the fake outrage he has for a few people that disagree with him, he makes my head hurt. I try to support Woodward sports and love DMac but Ruhl always makes it so hard to listen to.

  6. Yzerman made a huge mistake with walman giving him away for nothing plus giving up a 2nd round pick walman had trade value you just let your 2 best offensive defenseman go and settled for less in your FA signings where is the improvement here

  7. In five years' time, if the Wings haven't made the playoffs, these guys will still be in Yzerman's corner. The team doesn't have a good second line center. They might have one in 3 years.

  9. You're comparing a young rookie to a seasoned vet. A team of rookies won't get you into the playoffs. Everyone keeps saying, "we almost made the playoffs", sure. And if we did, we'd have been completely humiliated in 4 games by the NY Rangers. A QUARTER OF THE MONEY! Are sportscasters this dense? Edvinson is not gonna post more than 30 points this year, simple as that. The argument is ridiculous, you don't hit the playoffs with a winning stride with young skinny rooks.

  11. Take your time building, get better each season, so when we do get to the playoffs it is not just a one time thing, or we never get past the 1st or 2nd rounds! Our picks are our future!

  12. Everything takes time. Even more with this team because of the Holland contracts that Yzerman walked in on. Those needed to be taken care of first.
