we have some breaking news in sports center Nick star Jaylen Brunson has agreed to a 4-year 156.43 extension however had he waited until next season to extend he would have been eligible to make $3 million more first time Allstar this season LED New York to the Eastern Conference semifinals already the King of New York and this is sure to endear him to Nick’s fans to put it all in perspective we go to our man on the scene NBA reporter Tim bontemps who’s there in Vegas so what does this mean for Brunson and for the Knicks as a franchise going forward well Hannah this is a massive development for both Jaylen Brunson and the New York Knicks as a group as they try to keep this team that has made it to the Easter Conference semi-finals the past two years and just added the fourth member of the Nova Knicks male bridges of this team last month together for the foreseeable future by Jaylen Brunson the significant discount on this extension it sets the Knicks up to potentially offer Mel Bridges a similar extension either a two-year deal in October or a four-year deal next summer that could also potentially extend Julius Randle who’s eligible for his own four-year extension over the course of this upcoming season and Hannah they have the entire core of their team now together for at least the next couple years in the case of these Nova guys for the next three years or more now that they’ve got Jaylen Brunson locked up and this is obviously a huge moment for Brunson a guy who came to New York wanting to prove himself as a guy who could carry a team after the Dallas Mavericks did not want to give him a 4-year $54 million extension a few years ago when he helped lead Dallas to the Eastern to the Western Conference finals and with it with Sam Rose the son of Leon Rose as his agent now and Leon Rose the first his first client as an agent was Rick Brunson obviously jaylen’s father they like to joke that throughout his nine-year journeyman career in the league he never had a guaranteed contract at all and now his son has just been guaranteed more than a hundred million and helps this Nicks team stick together for the foreseeable future potentially as a contender at top the Easter Conference for the rest of this decade yeah it’s a real Family Affair there with the Brunson the roses and by the way he can recoup some of that 113 million and a lot more should he get that four-year Max extension he’ll be eligible in 2028 thank you so much [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] is

  15. A legitimate question is how is Brown off the team when he is arguably better than, Haliburton, White, Holiday… and Edwards. I like Edward’s but I don’t think he is better than Brown now.

  24. You Knicks fans give a lot of lip.. But can't back it up.. After that 7th game at NY MSG in front of all the Knick fans and Knicks players wives/girlfriends/families/friends.. And for the Pacers to come in there and show every NY Knicks fan what a wimpy team the Knicks are.. I'd have to say the Pacers "smashed" the Knicks.. and that whipping was worse than the score indicated.. Even with a 100% healthy team for NY.. The Pacer still would have won that series.. And for next year.. Remember this NY.. The Pacers are comin!!!
