White Sox reach 70 losses before All-Star break
[Music] [Applause] [Music] well the white sock struggles continued tonight or today I’ve lost track of days losses and weeks and months uh they get two runs on five hits they go one for eight with runners in scoring position the bullpen gives up four runs Chris flexon only gives up two over six and he takes the loss he drops to 2 and8 and the White Soxs lose it final score 6-2 it is White Sox po game life here with a salty upset frustrated azyan and trying to read pods no I’m staying on that level kill a well balanced Scot I am uh yeah I’m Chuck arine I’m looking at the socks record right now I I I I don’t to look at it like that needs to like go up in the air and never come back put it in another planet because I knew what the record was coming in and then when I looked at it with this one loss today it jumps out because they are 27 and 70 27 and 70 when you hear that it just it means a little more to me I don’t know why 27 and 69 but 27 and 70 is like bam that’s abysmal this is on a path towards the worst record not only in White Sox history but they are easily going to be flirting unless something miraculous occurs we’re going to be talking about a historic season historically Bad season in the history of this game I would like 28 and 69 because they would have won the game did yes well of course you would have liked that 20 and 69 well we unfortunately are at 70 and you were upset because of something that happened early in this game I was concerned thinking about it what I should do I think John and and Steve Steve’s asked me that question in the about the strike zone in the fifth Innings yes in in in our hit with in our hit yes the St Sone was brutal yeah this was the Umpire Malachai Mo look at that right so this is this kind of set the tone for the white socks offense and listen you got to make something happen when even have bad calls but there were a lot of I’m not going to blame the Own Parts yeah but the Own Parts make good or bad decision with the hits going to be that was uh that was okay the that was a terrible call you me it just like but that goes from a 2-1 a 3-1 count to 2 two yeah it’s just like look at these two look at that that’s a strike and here’s the next one check this one another one from 20 to 02 yeah it’s just like come on you know mean it just be be be be real you know mean it’s just like a okay you got to be you’re a human being you got to be that’s the reason they’re coming out with a with a computers and and uh and and all the stuff they try to put it on the game because they own part human beings think you know what they want the automatic uh okay somebody get kicked out of the game there okay somebody did I thought it was sheets no it wasn’t sheets he was just voicing his displeasure the guy that got kicked out was Marcus Tims the hitting coach okay how come I’m curse nobody go go to the ire and let you know you know what now go Pedro okay Pedro everybody think I got something about with Pedro no I don’t but you’re the manager yeah and this is a family you got to go out there and protect whatever happened on the field even even the CL the dogout is wrong they’re wrong I my job is protect the people work for me work with me every day and I know and I know the onai was wrong right and there were three veterans right there now that they had to be veterans but you’re talking about Robert malado and twice to fam I mean I’m like getting up like I’m going to voice my displeasure as I’m trying to use English live on television I’m going to be screaming at that umpire saying protecting my guys and I’m not saying Pedro needed to do this you’re saying do Pedro should nobody El does yeah I mean fam was just kind of sitting there waiting for somebody to come out step into the B surprised that he didn’t see anybody come out nobody come out cuz you know cuz that’s the that’s right the the hitting coach isn’t going to come out there the only one that comes out is the manager okay but the hitting coach come out he ah well too late he’s a veteran hitting coach but and in the end of the day just say we’re family with this I come out at least to fake it at the very least at least to fak how about to go let him know hey you’ve miss about six seven calls you need to clean minute those were terrible ter by you kick one my guys out when miss you fall mhm now we pay price because you’re terrible because you’re not calling the thing right then do you know I mean that’s what create a team unity yes they talk about Unity yeah that should unite the team yeah that’s why I little no just funny man it’s this is making very mad because we fake we are fake we we a family we take each other we talk each other we work each other we every day with the same crap and on the this is a very good opportunity to show your team yeah I care about you guys and you don’t show up come on man please please please it did look it did look like Tommy fam as he was there one my guys no by the way the first thing he come out I think he was sheets yeah do you know what I say oh my pck to click G well the way hit lately should keep out of the game it was s but no he’s just like come on man come on come on yeah where is where is the unity and we you you try to see into what’s really going on there and that was a great example and there’s a lot of things that happened in a baseball season but there was one this offense has been terrible the worst offense I’ve ever seen by the White Sox just being honest the stats backing up and here was a chance for someone to just do something and it was just Marcus Tims who was sticking up for his guys good for him but they something biger come out ra and get get get the fans involved get some energy get the crowd pumped something it’s so obvious John asked me a question and sort of stone yeah why you do in the opportunity when they ask me that question in the middle of the thing it’s just because they know what they asking about it yeah they knew where you were probably going to go with that no it’s it’s just you can see it you can see it it’s just it’s uh man it just uh next next all right we have a lot to still talk about uh so now we’re into a situ sitation where the White Sox are trying to manufacture runs do what they can and Luis Robert Jr was right in the center of this and we’ll start here in the fourth inning so he came in eight for eight in stolen bases this season and he gets on first here and we got yasman rundal behind the plate oh he’s running on Y and yeah that’s easy to score there get a stolen base there now there’s men on first and second one out and your picks to clicks come up it’s sheets and vaugh and unfortunately this time nothing happens all right we SE that before we have so now we skip to the sixth here is a man on second nice piece of hidden there by Lis har Great Piece of hidden pitch was out in the way he went with it didn’t try to pull it stayed inside of it didn’t try to do too much great two strike approach there all right so he does the job with a man on second base what does he do once he’s at first base again he’s going to steal and now he’s 10 for 10 with Runners stealing bases and now you’ve got a situation with a runner in scoring position with sheets and vaugh up again with one out and unfortunately they couldn’t get him in it’s the funny thing about it because when you see panta print like it’s he a five to players we can we’ve seen him before do all this stuff and we cannot get a hit with man and scoring position that’s one thing about it killing the white socks all year long yeah it’s been a problem for a while but great to see Robert running like he is BAS you can tell his legs are feeling well he’s running well on the bases he’s getting good jumps making up ground in the Outfield but uh finally you know hopefully he can stay healthy for the rest of the season clearly the legs are are feeling good cuz he’s running well all right question for you guys how many sacrifice hits did you have in your career sacrifices I just dropped this one I hate talking about myself I don’t I like it because I don’t know what that good and they all start game my first all start game yeah Tony Russa bring me to pinch I don’t know it was Tony or ton Kelly to bunt because you know how to bunt that’s it Ro right there I bunt with score yeah you know I mean in the allar game my firstand allar game bny then I go around I told Julio Franco say my God I’m very a biter P She for one the best hiter Hall of fam K rcky how about that K Ricky go Azie say oh I got to H for call oh yeah here you go you burning well a I have the number right here for both of you I bunned Willie Harris over game four of the World Series got him over J man got a man you youa bun you want to hear me now there are some people who were born to bunt they were put on this Earth to bunt Azie you want to guess how many sacrifices you had oh my God I was so a heater I know I lead the league a lot 141 141 that’s a lot thank God is 141 is I no bun I’ll be like 188 lifetime heater uh pods uh 6070 57 okay uh yasman grandal you want to guess how many three seven seven coming into today I he zero in my two for his career four four you’re you’re the closest well is that Alejandro in yeah Alejandro right there like hidden back that guy can bunt he can bunt well exactly well they were met on first and second with nobody out today and what’s happening yasal is asked to bun with four in his whole career this did not exactly go well watch the barrel of the bat watch where the barrel of the bat goes from there to down lost his angle as soon as the the handle of the bat is above the head you’re going to pop it up you got to keep the head of the bat above the Handle by the way that’s what my highl in my career pink sheet in the all game for car r Jr to bunt yeah but would you ever bunt with two strikes yes well you could actually no I did I did a few times but I remember one Jimmy key yeah I V for base sit Jimmy key at uh Toronto C fig it on run and we win the game we win tie the game we two stri I said Jimmy ke I’m on for three against you I see H Kelly groover back I like I don’t have a chance we I just put it there in Bas it we were not on camera when you were doing your little thing with the bat when you were showing your demonstration about what gr do did and what needs to happen he started out fine here yeah soon as the pitch it was down in Z he goes here to get to it and as soon as that Barrel dips below the hands you’re going to he said so what you do instead you got to keep the head above the hands this way this way this way no no yes okay by the way when you do that that mean you chasing that pitch every time and you bun and you go chasing that pitch that’s your first move yeah and you know I don’t want to make it sound like we’re ripping grandall grandall was asked to do this like I know if he’s what his experience in terms of practicing it but if you’re the manager of the team would you be having yazman grandal a bunt in that situation well you probably try to stay out of the double play good chance he roll over one you know you get yourself out two out so he’s trying to stay out double play how you put on the game something you never practice that’s what I’m talking about why sucks why sucks organization when I was in charge we had a burning feel it’s still there actually they don’t use it there a little bunch of grass all growing up bunny feel by the way put Mye on it because I told I told uh Rick my man here oh right there Roger boser I said Bonnie field why we can take R ball there and we can burn everybody got to go through all the minor league system got to go there and Bun you’re not buning who Jin Tomy Fran Bono I wasting my time with those guys but everybody out teaching how B and that’s the way we got to teach how B very success by the way I Man team a lot of home runs 2005 home runs but nobody know the short game we have especially with him aguchi and aguchi butting squeeze play in the playoff every little thing s playing the play with r thing he was hitting and AJ was running a third base he scored in Boston in Boston yes you cannot execute something you not practice right when you not practice I say okay nowadays I watch Bing practice they even B the guy they even got a he run like all right how many Street 10 ah I look good I look good but then when you try to execute them they don’t know how I don’t blame players I don’t blame the players to don’t how to BN I don’t period well unless they’re expected to do it yes but you have to practice yeah I remember that’s that’s on you but I remember take oh you remember the day I have BM practice during the season you remember that we play in Toronto we B we fail next day early bonning early bunny they don’t like it I don’t care you bun good we don’t have that but that’s accountability yes that’s what it if we would have got the three buns down we wouldn’t be never be like we missed three buns in in Toronto no I not going to wait we got three hour show and all a sudden I said oh we don’t go to BN three time next day early buning everybody buned everyone besides the big boys okay nothing wrong with that all right they were telling my ear we got to move on I know we I know that the soon you go like this to me I know I got the coach I got the sign coach yeah exactly you got the sign you blew through that stop sign by the way um so we were hoping that okay after grandall does not execute there the socks get out of the inning unfortunately this happened because with Manan now first and second and one out McCutchen infield single and this will lead up to Ryan Reynolds who was the story of the game offensively for the Pirates four hits four singles and uh this opened the flood gate so to speak for the Pirates swing that inning started with an error by Nikki Lopez ball was hit hard but um might have been a s yeah but if you talk to Nikki he would try to at least keep that ball in front of him right and then nice piece of hit look at that look at that look at that one of the best heater always start guy all start guy look at that where he he it opposite way oppos that’s it man yeah he was uh daring it towards right field most of the game so uh they’re down three to one obviously the bullpen would mess things up um for them late in the game but when trailing after seven the white sock are 0 and 51 trailing after 8 0 and 54 would they break through this is what happened in the top of the eth Tommy fam like we’re looking for a break if you can get a break okay I’ll take a break here how about a check swing triple for Tommy fam as the ball guy tried to get out of the way and was unable to and it’s a triple for fam leading to aloy Jimenez who has been having trouble putting the ball in the air at least he got the ball in the right spot to allow the run to Pittsburgh had infield playing back so they’re conceding the run there uh but at least you got a run you pull it within one you know you feel much better with a one run going with a one run deficit than you do too so but still in that knife um thck couldn’t get it done I keep saying H hard overated you see Che swing triple yeah how many times you see that uh yeah this wasn’t good in the ninth so I want to show you this because the offense for the White Sox threw 97 games they have scored 309 runs last year’s offense was not good last year’s offense had through 97 games almost had 100 more runs than this team does in 2022 they were tied for 16th 2021 when they won the division they had a great offense ranked fifth in the majors and we put 05 in here just to make a comparison with you guys uh you scored 465 runs in 05 through 9 7 games this is what we’re talking about why are the white socks was a 27 and 70 it is an offense that continues to not put up enough runs to give you your team a chance to win a game second to last in on base percentage second to last in walks last in batting average um they’re among I think the bottom 10 in home runs hit um they don’t do anything well offensively so that’s going to lead to no run score I mean say that they don’t create you can do the but they don’t create R you see men of second base they don’t move the guy over men of Third Base lessen two out they not bring him in there’s a little a lot of little thing besides numbers they’re not doing it right we’ll get the occasional actually not occasional usually what we see from this White Sox team is they’ll score a few runs early and then we don’t see much at all the rest of the game there are only a handful of times where they score early they add on and when but those are very very rare days okay you know what I was managing uh or hting Co a great Walker and other song we score 70 runs a week uh 30 I might I say whatever say yeah we scor 15 Monday 12 Tuesday and after that we don’t score anything what’s that mean I scor seven Monday seven Tuesday five Thursday you know I mean like this this is like a numbers is is like overdue because you can say oh we scored this week we scored 40 runs yeah 35 runs Monday yeah this m anything it’s about winning and got good at bats I think this ball clubs is better what they show better if they do the thing the right way they are better I know they are better and we not do their thing the right way all right congrats you finished the video if you want to build on that success download the NBC Sports Chicago app it’s got highlights exclusive insights and We are on that pace to lose 120 games.😂😂😂 I predicted this before the season even started.
Knowing Jerry Reinsdorf, he will blame the terrible season on Sox fans as usual. He refuses to accept that he is a terrible owner who makes terrible decisions.
I bet the Sox might lose 120 games
I love our pregame and postgame guys despite this horrendous godawful team.
Jerry Reinsdorf 🚫❌👎
Jerry's fault. The organization is incompetent from top to bottom. The ballpark is an embarrassment surrounded by asphalt. The ballpark is a hassle to get to, as most of the fans are suburbanites. The promotions are silly exercises far removed from the essence of baseball.
