  1. You wonder if this is actual news or if this is just a reporter taking their best guess and passing it off as fact. Either way I believe it and would welcome Fedde or Flaherty but we’ll see what prices are like

  2. Should call the Angels about Tyler Anderson or Toronto and see if they’re desperate to get out of their big SP contracts for Bassitt, Berrios, or Gausman.

  3. I kind of don’t want to pay a premium for a guy who’s been terrible hits while career until this year.

  4. Give me Bassitt and Conforto. Am I a sucker for nostalgia? Yes. Do I think these will be significant upgrades? Also yes

  5. It’s almost certainly an impossibility, but fuck it, go get Skubal and Mark Canha

  6. My issue with Fedde aside from his long term uncertainty is that because he’s in such a friendly contract, he’s likely going to cost way more than he’s worth – despite his peripherals being similar to that of a mid rotation pitcher.

Looking at what guys like Estevez got and considering Fedde is the most sought after pitcher on the market, he’s probably going to net multiple top 100 prospects, and I’d rather use those prospects to get a bigger fish.

I’m more in the camp of leveraging Cohen’s wallet to take on expensive contracts to mitigate prospects given up. Guys like Snell, Gausman, Berrios, and Bassit. I know that Flaherty is just a rental but I don’t see him costing as much as a guy like Fedde.

A guy like Fedde is going to be wanted by half the league, he’s going to be pricy. A good pitcher with a bad contract is only going to be afforded by a handful of teams might be a better bet.

Otherwise, I’d aim for straight rentals. Wouldn’t even be against grabbing Scherzer for cheap.

Edit: lmao people were giving me shit for wanting Snell when I said he will regress to his mean and that his peripherals were better than everyone in the rotation. He just went 6 and struck out 15.

Better chance he looks like his last years self as opposed to the guy he looked like during his first few starts.

  7. We really could use a pitcher who is under contract for next season— Fedde makes sense. Maybe try to get Kopech in the package

  8. What would it take to get Fedde and Crochet? It probably starts with Jett 🙁
